During our two-night stay at this historic hotel, my wife and I discovered a truly cozy, peaceful, and inviting atmosphere. The hotel exudes a nostalgic charm, making it feel like a journey back in time. Tamara, the receptionist, was exceptionally helpful, sharing a brief history of the hotel and attending to our needs throughout our stay. I highly recommend a few nights here to immerse yourself in the grandeur and mystery of the place.

While the room we originally booked had a heating issue, Tamara made our transition into another room so easy. She was so helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is such a beautiful hotel, unfortunately located in what appears to be a sundown town. It is very clean and the decor is SO charming. Thankfully the staff at the Jackson were kind and welcoming, especially Tamara. The dining hall/bar was closed very early, and breakfast was 6-9am, so we didn't get to try it.Rooms: We stayed in a king suite and it was cozy and beautiful. There was a small faux fireplace on the wall, and the bathroom was very clean and huge!Nearby activities: A few antique stores within walking distance, nothing worth noting really. Everything seems to close when the shopkeepers get bored. There is a nice bakery across the street! Unfortunately, Jackson is an extremely conservative little town with none of the southern hospitality you'd expect to come with that. We were made to feel like unwanted outsiders at the local bar and a few shops, so overall, we felt this town was a poor choice for our road trip rest stop. Shops that were scheduled to close at 4 were already closed at 2 when we arrived.Safety: Would not recommend non-white folks stay here alone. I did not see a single person of color my whole time here, but there many anti-immigration signs on local business windows, as well as signs with firearms everywhere. I'm from Arizona and my partner is from Virginia, and we thought it was weird and uncomfortable.

This is a beautiful hotel, and Holly did a fantastic job making me feel very welcomed and warm as a solo traveler arriving late at night. The room is comfortable and very affordable as well. Thanks Holly!

A lovely historic hotel in a gorgeous little Gold Country town. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Just a grand spot for a little weekend getaway!

The lobby was like stepping back in time. Beautiful! Did a king-size room, was very comfy, and had a nice size bathroom. Very reasonably priced and within walking distance of restaurants and a

I absolutely loved my time there. It's full of so much history and ghost stories. The rooms are up to date but the cute furniture is old. Its right downtown and there is a parking garage next to it. I felt safe with lots of cameras and professional staff. Great wifi. I travel with a service dog and finding a grassy area was hard. I definitely recommend it and will be returning.Rooms: My room had an electric fire place.Safety: I felt very safe.

Great historical hotel. Good location. Reasonable room rates. Clean and beds are very comfortable. Nice antique furniture pieces. And the staff, especially Tamara, are so friendly and helpful. Have stayed here several times and will continue to.

The hotel was ok, A/C was out on the 2nd floor.
Front desk agent said they would give a 25% discount on the room to guest aloud to all in the line.
When we got home and checked credit card, there was a 10% discount.
I called and talked to front desk agent and she said when we booked room month before they gave us a 15 % discount to match Trip advisors rate so we booked with hotel.
I said that was nice of them to match trip advisor rate but had nothing to do with what we were told at check in with no A/C.
She said they cannot give more than 25% off on any room or stay.
I again mentioned to her that she told everyone in line that because the A/C was out that everyone would reciprocate a 25% discount.
She got very rude on the phone talking like she had no training as a hotel employee .
It’s not a money thing the promised 25% it’s the principle of the matter of what was said.
So , hotel was nice but front desk lady needs to go back to customer service training along with the hotel Manager as she sided with the front desk agent.
So now we get to spread the word to stay somewhere else.

Booked here while visiting Jackson for the weekend. The place is extremely charming. Loved the old, vintage look. The front desk people were very friendly. I'd give the rooms about 8/10 for cleanliness. We booked the room with the jacuzzi. You can tell that it was cleaned well based on the bleach smell upon entering the room. Sadly, I did notice some dust on the ceiling fan. Also, many of the bulbs above the vanity were out. I had to put my makeup on in front of the window for light. Loved the breakfast area. Also loved the porch area. Sitting out there at night in the breeze was simply beautiful. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The National Hotel in Jackson is a must stay if your passing through or just want to explore this cute town. We had booked for only one night and after receiving some of the best customer service from Tamara we decided to book the next night also. Wish we would be able to visit them sooner to see the kitchen up and running from what we saw it’s looks to be delicious. If we are ever traveling in that area again it will definitely be on our list to stay again.

This is an unusual review because me and my partner were unable to make it up to the hotel for our planned romantic weekend even though we were super excited to be staying at the hotel but I wanted to leave a review singing the praises of the lovely women who work there… When I made my initial reservation I spoke to a woman named Holly who is so kind and sweet and generous, and then when I had to call last minute to unfortunately tell the hotel we were unable to make it up to Jackson because of our rental car breaking down (lol) the second woman who I spoke to (whose name I didn’t get) was equally as sweet and kind and generous. Really her kindness completely turned around a disastrous day for us. Anyway we greatly look forward to eventually one day making it up there in a proper car, because friends who have stayed there have said it’s amazing!

We loved everything about our stay! It's like stepping back in time! They've been able to capture the charm and history but have updated the hotel to very comfortable modern standards. This place beat the pants off of the 2 Mariott properties we stayed in the 2 nights before! Kara at the front desk was very kind when checking us in. We had a beautiful room on the top floor, and we never heard anyone else in the hotel even though they were booked. They have a nice little breakfast available in the morning, perfect for our kids and us. If we ever pass through Jackson again we will definitely be staying here!

Great place to stay just for the history. Cool old building dripping with gold rush era appointments. Our room was really nice. The heated ? bathroom floor was a nice plus. Decent breakfast included. Definitely worth a stop.

So many good things about this place. 1852 was when it was first built. They remodeled very well but leaving a historic vibe. Next to the desk is a collection of old papers that was found during remodeling stuck on wall. As a old place some rooms are small but they are very comfortable. This was last stop on a 9 day trek and this room had the best shower. The hotel is at end of main street so one could walk to all the shops and saloons. They also have a bar downstairs. The historic items in hotel will amaze you along with the complimentary breakfast. I usually try to put something that can improve on but have no negatives about this place. Looking forward to going againRooms: Very comfortable rooms with one of the best showersWalkability: It's located at end of main street. There is many different unique shops to check outFood & drinks: The hotel offers a excellent continental breakfast and has a wonderful full bar.
