Directions were so off, I actually think it’s not in the same spot that is pictured , a lot smaller and def no upstairs , seemed very cramped and the signs to each section very small , two workers that just sat there and didn’t ask if I needed any help , the only thing I can give you two stars for is the antiques they sold

This company picked up a house full of furniture to sell at their business in Jackson. We were promised a 50% payment on sold items. It’s been a couple of years and nothing. We also see that the Jackson location was closed and the business moved to another location in Sutter Creek. I have been in contact with the owner on several occasions and have been promised a check would be send once they reviewed inventory. Empty promises. The items were from my mom’s house. We moved her down to the Bay Area to be closer to family. We trusted this company to take care of selling the furniture for us. Items were sold but no money was ever disbursed to the owners of the furniture. Very dishonest!

This place is a hidden gem! I was staying nearby on a road trip and, as a lover of antiques and books, had to stop by to check the place out. My partner and I bought a few books, but we both regretted not combing the shelves more thoroughly and went back the next morning!

Hein & Co has such a nostalgic feel to it! I found so many books I read as a kid and was so tempted to get all of them! The people were super friendly and nice to us until I handed over a gift certificate to pay with. The man at the counter's attitude towards us changed QUICKLY when he saw the gift certificate. At this point, I have no plans to go back because of that interaction. If the person who gave it to me bought it, he's already gotten his money. If he donated it, it was a tax write-off, but why donate if you're going to be sour about someone utilizing it?

A great store. I found items (gun magazines) that I haven't seen in 30 years.

I dream of returning to this bookstore. So beautiful, amazing books, and fun experience. Wish I could rate higher than 5 stars.

We spontaneously changed our weekend plans and decided to visit Jackson rather than Tahoe...when looking for things to do, stumbled upon this gem...Officially obsessed...please check it out...it is like accessing a Dickens Fair through the back stairway in an old bookstore...seriously...timeout.com/usa/news/the…

Must see. This isn't the bookstore to visit if you're just searching for the latest best seller or newsstand rag. This is a place you go to experience "being in a bookstore," and all the wondrous and whimsical accouterments are in place: slow creaking floor boards, entire pillars made of books stretching from floor to ceiling, cases filled with fossils and minerals (spell components?), cozy chairs and settees on threadbare rugs, and all of the familiar volumes you remember from your grandfather's bookshelves (old friends and familiar faces). You will be transported to another time; although, I think they have a coffee bar, wifi and charging spots if you're into that. Plan on spending a while exploring all the nooks and crannies.

Great old huge book store. They might take your old books for a wee bit if credit but dint expect much. I always end up giving them more money anyway but the discount helps.
