Petco's these days are hit or miss, I usually go to the Santa Ana (Bristol) location but wanted to try another one out. Taryn helped us in aquatics and the fish we wanted got his fin stuck in the net while she was trying to take him out for us. He was so delicate that she couldn't get the fin out and she was trying for a good 15-20 minutes. She was being so gentle and careful not to damage him but nothing was working. Then all of a sudden we hear loudly from the front of the store a lady yell "Taryn I need you in the front, if they want a specific fish they can come back tomorrow!". Um this seemed a bit aggressive and rude. Taryn said hold on and continued to try to free the fish. At this point we were invested and it was almost like watching fish surgery to try to free him, but she finally got him out! At the front I made sure to mention how nice and patient Taryn was but Star, the manager who yelled, didn't seem to care. All she cared about was asking Taryn to get some crickets that she was too lazy to get herself. She was extremely rude and dismissive and clearly doesn't care for the stores animals/fish or her employees. Kudos to Taryn for going above and beyond to help save this little catfish. I would've rated this 1-star based solely on my poor interaction with Star, but Taryn earned a couple more stars (no pun intended). Ironically, the catfish was a pictus catfish and ate all our guppies in a few days so we ended up having to return him (Petco should disclose that and not call them "community" fish because they're known to eat smaller fish, which we had no idea...)

The worse Petco around - you get stalked. My wife and I went into our local Petco to pick up some dog food. We called MULTIPLE times to see if they had it on stock. No one EVER answers the phone at this location. I even tried "I'm here to pick up my order" phone number. It rings 30-40 times. Nothing. We wanted to research dog food ingredients because our 4 show dogs have developed the itchies on the food they are on and we are thinking of switching back to Acana or Royal Canin. As we were discussing the food, we noticed a worker staring at us from a distance. We were like, um ok that was weird. So we continued comparing ingredients and finished shopping. We checked out and asked the cashier if she had any advice on food allergies. When we left, the worker staring at us was by the door, still staring. I starred back as we left. When we got in our SUV and drove past the store, she was obviously FILMING us as we drove past. I was like "what the...". So I parked the car and went back in and asked her why she was filming me (note: I was filming this interaction). She claimed she was NOT filing me, but then asked "why were you doing something that you should have been filmed for?" Excuse me?!? This is inexcusably rude behavior from ANY employee of a store. I told her I am very protective of my image and if she was recording me, she needed to delete it now. She again denied filming.Yeah ok. You know how someone pans with your movements when they record? That's what she did. I asked her name (Star supposedly). and started to leave. As I did, she said "and you're filing me". I said "yes I am. I am protecting myself from your actions"Out in the parking lot, I saw the plaza security and spoke with them about the incident. They informed me the manager had an issue the week before where a customer was confrontational and threw stuff at her. The police and paramedics were called. I can see why a customer would be upset with her if this is how they were treated. Imagine being treated like this when you are happily getting something for your beloved pet. That's the LAST TIME I swing by this local Petco for food for my pets. Online is much easier anyway. I don't even want the costume we bought because it comes with negative feelings. I'm calling corporate ... I'm not comfortable with some crazy person having my image. Who knows what she will do with it.

This store is convenient and I hope it stays here. However, while I was standing outisde the training area, the trainer Michelle said to me "Don't stare at the dog. What is wrong with you?"Nothing is wrong. I was shopping and stopped for about 2 minutes to listen to Michelle because she was saying something about how well her own dog behaves. I went to maybe impressed and thinking maybe I should bring my puppy here to - no, I don't want this personality to train my dog.Support the store for what they offer. Skip Michelle the trainer.

My wife and I have had terrible experiences here on multiple visits. Want to see an employee that is trying to dodge doing anything? How about one that will set it up to fail? That is what we have here. The employee acts weird and afraid, guess how your dog reacts? You won't see a can-do attitude, more like a how-to-dodge giving the service attitude.Keep looking.

The absolute worst. A bunch of young, inexperienced kids that don't know how to actually do hard work for your pet. Would rather make excuses than actually problem solve. Go to a professional.

Something is going on with this Petco, but the company itself must be asleep at the wheel. For YEARS this store has been in distress - they are chronically shorthanded and "haven't been able to stock anything." There's something awry. This photo of the cat care aisle is what every aisle looks like. You can't even shop in the back of the store because the walkways are full of pallets of boxes of unpacked merchandise, half empty boxes of merch and trash. It's a horror show.

yes i have to agree, it is a waste of money and time coming here. useless 1 MINUTE (yes, literally) consultation with nila kelly, dvm after made to wait 40 minutes prior. whatever you are in for, you will surely be asked/led to pay hundreds of dollars to do 'tests'; don't expect to get the answer you are looking for from her. i would rather do my research online than have another appointment with this grumpy old lady veterinarian with mucho bad attitude who just disappeared in the middle of conversation and never returned, after ONE MINUTE of consultation. how professional~ geez.

I was very happy with the veterinary services that my two babies received. I kind of expected to be charged additional fees, which is typically the case with these Wellness plans, but there were no additional charges and the veterinarian was very polite, kind, and proficient.

Thank you Google for leading me to this pet clinic located in the Culver Plaza in Irvine. Super convenient location (in a Petco)! From beginning to end the whole experience was wonderful and easy! The entire team worked so cohesively, it's obvious they are sincere \\u0026 love what they do. The atmosphere is clean, lots of examination rooms, and timely service. Dr. Kelly helped us with our cat's spay. She made spaying our girl a very wonderful and stress-free experience. Highly recommend this Vetco to all the cat lovers out there in Irvine. This place gives you all the bells and whistles but at a very, VERY reasonable cost. No price gouging here...just love and support.

This Petco should not be allowed to run any further at this location. The dog bags had smelly substance on them, this store is battered and needs to retire. It's time for a different store to step in. Question? Why does the employee bathroom sink not turn on?

I placed my order around 1:20 and received the notification that the order has been received, but not quite ready. Because the online store said pickup could be ready within an hour, I decided to do some grocery shopping next door. Boy, what a mistake!I did arrive a bit earlier than anticipated, but when I was at the cash register inquiring about the order, the guy said it would take about 15 minutes to pack the order. That didn't seem like a long wait, so I asked, "Do I just wait here?" He says, "Yeah, wherever."I waited and waited and stood around the entrance like an idiot for a solid 20 minutes. So I thought, why don't I just walk around and see if I could grab the order myself? The prices online were way different from online, so I just thought, okay, maybe I'll check in with the guy. The guy did indeed pack some orders, but they were other orders that sat on the counter. If it's based on order hierarchy, I get that, but why tell me it will be 15 minutes if you're gonna pack other orders?I asked him again after 30 minutes of waiting and he said "your order is next, but I have to help these people in the store." Well, that took an additional 30 minutes so I continued to walk aimlessly around the store making mental note of where to find my order should I need these items again. You know, so when I need to "pick up", I could find it myself in store. Anyway, I come back to find my order on the side, but not bagged. When I walked up to him, he said my order was ready, but said that because they are short staffed, pick up orders will typically take a little longer....as he handed my order to me. I checked my items and one thing was missing. I asked him about it and he said it's out of stock, so he did cancel the item in my order. BUT LIKE, bruh...you could have saved me the feeling of impatience and frustration had you said this in the beginning. If given the option, I would have canceled the order, or picked it up at a later time when it would have been more convenient, or you know, when the order was actually ready for them to pack.So much for trying to do stop in for a quick pick up. Next time, I'll just order online and have it shipped. Not down with this process. At least they had my dog's food in stock for a reasonable price, so I guess one additional pity star for local convenience.

Process here is not meant to be in best interest of patient or his parents. They ran diagnostic test and didn’t offer to wait until the test came back for final assessment. Gave him a bunch of medication and THEN told me he needed more blood panel and antibiotics. Incisivos this changes the protocol and price I would select for my dog today. Response I got was “this is not their process.” It needs to be offered ahead of time.
