This review is based solely on my experience with the music department. The music department faculty and its crappy system make me regret coming to this school so much! This system wasn’t designed for people like me that are low-income and struggle with a mental illness. I find the teaching methods of the music theory and musicianship professors absurd! It’s like they intentionally don’t want you to pass. The one music theory Professor I did like and whose methods I did understand was a PhD candidate and he taught way better than these donkeys with degrees. Also, it’s absurd that you have to wait an entire school year to retake a class if you fail. If you value your talent, education, and money please, don’t come to this school. They will waste your time here and the faculty do not know how to communicate like adults. This department is run by children with absurdly big egos. You’ve been warned.

The buildings may seem plain and the campus is small compared to the rest of the school but there is always something new to see, hear, or encounter within the hallways, classrooms, and non event times. There are many small galleries and theaters open to the public. Each building is larger on the inside as those exploring would find new areas, sights and paths. The campus will seem plain during the day but has the prettiest lights at night. Film students can often be found filming here, especially late at night. The ticket office can be found near the cafe while department offices can be found at the Mesa Parking lot

I would admit it that I have never had attended a play before, but as of tonight, I would be a fan of it. A play called living out at UCI school of Arts. An illegal alien mother tried to blend in this society by getting a job as a caretaker so that to earn enough money to bring her other kid from Guatemala over. Her husband also worked odd jobs so they could save the money. In the end , by saving her employers child but could not saved her own. The actors of this play were awesome and well prepared and professional. The storyline was excellent and easy to comprehend especially with today’s climate and political highly unpopular. This was a very interesting story with people from different backgrounds and customs, it was an excellent writer and also superb acting by the cast members, also with those people the scenes...

My daughter was able to attend their dance intensive this summer and it was one of the most memorable and growing exoerience she's had in her dance career. The staff and students were all so encouraging and the environment was a space where she felt safe and challeneged at the same time. We're honestly sad it's already over.

Amazing school within UC Irvine. The individual departments within the school are great. Dance, Drama, Music and Studio Art all provide the UCI and surrounding community with free/cheaply priced shows and galleries.

They had open house occasionally where people could improvise martini of potatoes. But usually it was just pizza. Considering the free outdoor jazz music live performance, one could be tolerant to the pizza part.
