Review BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. PLEASE TAKE A READ AND SAVE YOURSELF. I took my car in June 23, 2023 to the shop to talk to Jeff about repairing my Honda Civics hatchback AC evaporator. He initially told me I had to leave a $300 deposit or pay it in full to avoid any future expenses (already a first sign of suspicion). I told him I would pay the deposit but the rest would be given after he fixed my AC. I took my car to the shop on June 30, 2023 (Friday) and he initially said it would take him until Sunday/Monday. On July 3, I texted him for updates on my car and his wife calls me to tell me that they are short on staff and everyone either quit or left and Jeff was the only one who could work on my car. They said it would take a few more additional days, possibly have it by Friday (July 7). Well Friday comes around and calls me to tell me that the part he purchased was faulty and he would need more time for the new part to come in. He stated he would have it by next week on Tuesday or Wednesday (July 11 or July 12). Well Tuesday comes around and I ask my dad to visit the shop because I was at work. Jeff tells my dad he's been super busy and hasn't gotten around to my car but that he will have it done by Friday (July 14). Well Friday comes around and he says that he's working on my car but can't finish it because he needs electrical tape and the only electrical tape he could use is the one specifically engineered for Honda. Well finally sunday (July 16) comes around and he calls me to tell me my car is going to be finished but that he needs me to have cash ready. He also said that since my car took so long he would knock off $100. I told him that I felt more secure paying with credit card. Immediately he starts to give me a story that his business is legit & that's why he has so many cars. He continues to rant that he only works for god and no one else. That god is the only person who knows he's legit. I told him I'm still paying with credit card. KEEP READING!!!!On Tuesday July 18, I finally get the call that my car is ready and that if I wanted to pay with card it'll be 7% added fee. Initially on the receipt copy he put down 5% for the fee, but here's the catch. He didn't write it down on the front of the receipt paper. Instead he ripped off my copy of the receipt and wrote down on the back of the receipt how much I would pay if I ended up paying with card. He did this to avoid saying that he ever wrote that down. I walk into the shop and the wife comes out of the office. She tells me to pay her first before I get to see my car. I reply "can I first see my car, I want to make sure everything works". She immediately gets offended and says "for what? So you could drive off with your car and not pay? You're not getting your keys until you pay first." I replied with "well you could be in the driver seat and I could be in the passenger and you could turn on the AC to see if it works." She becomes super aggravated and tells me "now you're not paying with credit card. Now you either pay with cash or Zelle." I told her wasn't going to pay with neither cash or Zelle. She then calls the cops on me and as she's explaining to the cops the situation, she plays as the victim and says I was the aggressor. The cops arrive and within 10 minutes of them being there they tell me "are you willing to pay with credit card in front of us" I replied with "of course I just want my car that's all and to make sure it works" I then go to pay, and guess what? THEY LOST MY KEYS. What's worse is the wife had the audacity to take no fault in her actions or attitude. She instead said "well if you wouldn't have came in here with problems then we wouldn't have lost your keys". I then tell her to write it down on my paper that they lost my keys and they are going to pay. She refuses to do so. Thirty minutes later they find my keys and we complete the transaction. My AC works, but at what expense? T

Martinez Auto Repair is where to go if you need emergency A/C repair. 10/10 recommend.My wife and son were heading to Joshua Tree National Park to car camp when the blower motor on the A/C went out. Jeffrey’s shop was slammed with work but he made time to help my family. He was quick and efficient, and was able to fix the issue in less than a day. Jeffrey was also very reasonably priced & his wife, the office manager was very pleasant to work with. We greatly appreciated their help.Services: A/C installation & repair

Jeff is a great guy, and an honest mechanic. After trying to figure out the issues with my A/C, which I went through a few mechanic shops, Martinez's Auto Repair was able to diagnose and fix my A/C issues, which were due to an electrical issue. They were able to get the parts and fix my a/c on the same day, all at an affordable price. Martinez's Auto Repair looks after their customers, all around great customer service.Services: Air conditioning

My car didn't start unless you pulled on the steering wheel hard and called Martinez,he recommended a lady whom he said would be able to fix my problem. The lady then sent a man to my residence to check the vehicle. He said that it was a simple fix but that he was not able to fix the car here and to call the lady to arrange an appointment. And proceeded to charge for a diagnostic fee., After calling the lady to arrange an appointment she said that they were able to fix the car at home and came back only to tell my wife that they could not fix it and charged my wife another diagnostic fee. I will never go back to these unethical people for any car problems.

Great, guy, great shop! I called and Jeff diagnosed the problem my car was having over the phone. Was driving along the 10 and a piece of our car came loose. Stopped in without any notice and they fixed our car quickly so we could get back on the road. Highly recommend if you have any car troubles!
