Took my car in to have oil change, fix a fuel filling issue, and fix the car from going into limp mode when I would accelerate quickly. they charged me over $3000 and told me that they didn't see anything wrong to cause a fuel filling issue. The car was now worse than it was before I took it in. It now was impossible to drive without it going into limp mode, they forgot to change the oil, and it was still nearly impossible to fuel. So I took it back and after several days they said that there is metal in the fuel and that they would need to replace both fuel pumps, the fuel lines and all the injectors. I asked what component had failed? They didn't know, they felt it was necessary to replace everything costing another $5,000. I reluctantly agreed but a little angry they were incapable of being able to diagnose what exactly had failed. They call me back a few days later and claim it will be ready to pick up soon. I asked if they had checked the fuel filling issue ? they had not. They called back the next day and said sure enough the tank wouldn't take fuel, and they didn't know why but claimed that fuel tank would need to be replaced . I called BS. But they insisted that the fuel tank would need to be replaced and they wouldn't guarantee that would fix the problem. I said no, do not replace the fuel tank. So I picked up the car and googled the fuel issue and found a VW service bulletin which told me how to get to the vapor tube and clean it . Took like 30 minutes and fixed the issue and no part's required. Never in my life have I every encountered such incompetence, or out right theft by false repair and or replacement. These people are not truthful, and incompetent to the point that they should never be allowed to work on cars. Never to be trusted.

Where do I begin… this place is amazing and Eddie is an amazing mechanic and knowledgeable of all old VW’s. I was driving through and my generator gave out so I was told to come check this place out and Eddie took me in and got my bug back to normal and taught me so much about my car. I got a recommendation from someone on Vanagon Cafe. Eddie was very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend him and I will be returning to get additional work done in the future.

We were passing through Indio in our '87 Syncro when the headlight switch failed. Eddie to the rescue & we were back on the road the next day! Friendly, fast and fair. Great job and a very nice guy!
