I can't tell you just how much I LOVE Dr. James Clark!! The first time I met him w/ my puggle Costello he sat down next to me & Costello jumped right on his lap! He is so personable, caring, informative & a Veterinarian who cares not only for your fur baby but it's owner as well! His office visits are around 60 bucks, and all else including monthly meds he is spot on with competitors pricing! I can't recommend a BETTER VET in the desert!! Thank you James Clark your THE BEST!!

I highly recommend Dr.Clark he is extremely compassionate and understanding. When our dog Casper got sick Dr.Clark opened his door to us moments notice. He is one of the most know vets in the valley so the place is always busy wait times are going to be long due to the popularity! Thank you to Dr.Clark we are so grateful!

My dog was having an emergency situation with regards to congestive heart failure and our usual veterinarian in Banning was not available within the timeframe I was looking for, like 2 days max. So I tried Dr. Clark in Indio since he was closer. Although he did a good job with diagnosing my dog and what he needed to survive his health crisis, Dr. Clark was very unsatisfactory in other important ways. Besides having to wait a full hour and a half to see him after making appointments at a specific time, upon my request, he informed me very gruffly that his policy was NOT to let people in the examination room with their pets and if I didn't like it, I could go elsewhere. Wow. I had to continue with that first examination because of my dog's concerning condition. The bill for that visit seemed pretty BIG however I am sure there are some other vets who might charge more. Then, for the return check up visit he signed me up for my dog a couple weeks later, again, even with the appointment, he kept us waiting for one and a half hours. My main intention on the return visit was to get prescription refills from him so I could get the prescriptions for my dog at Chewy or Costco to save me some money (his markup is high). By law he is supposed to do that, from what I have read. However, when I asked him for that, he again gruffly said, "We don't do that and if that's what you want, you need to go elsewhere!" OK, I thought to myself, tomorrow I will let him know to transfer my dog's records to our usual vet in Banning. So that's what I did! When I called him and asked him to transfer my dog's records, he nastily said he'd have to do that next week... and he said I "need to understand" that I "could never go back to his clinic", to which I said "fine". A week and a half went by and the Banning vet's office had not received my dog's records from Dr. Clark. So it got to the point where I called Dr. Clark's office and TOLD them that I WILL BE IN THE OFFICE TO PICK UP MY DOG'S RECORDS BY NOON on the next day. So that's what I did! They were incomplete, so the following day, I had to make the same call to get all the records, and pick them up in his office. I'm sure they didn't want a big scene in their office, so they readily complied with my DEMAND. Unfortunately, although I am grateful that he did help my dog when he needed immediate medical attention, I would never recommend him to anyone. I don't believe he likes people, and perhaps he doesn't even like animals because most animals feel comforted by having their owners with them in the examination room. By the way, HOT TIP: Costco fills dog prescriptions! Around half of what Dr. Clark charges!

Dr. Clark is amazing! Kind, compassionate and always available. He has taken care of our little Retta for a year and tonight, he helped our little Retta cross over the rainbow. He was so compassionate and sensitive to our needs. He relaxed her first and allowed us as much time as we needed before putting her to sleep. I am so grateful for him.

Looks like he cares for the animals. However, his office takes too many fur patients. Wait is about 2-3 h and that’s with the appointment. When my dog got sick, he wasn’t the most compassionate person. I understand they need to take a distance between animals and themselves, but when we’d show up for her appointments he wouldn’t even know who my dog was or what was her issue ( tumors). He did tests on my dog and wouldn’t let me have the copy of them because I wanted to seek second opinion. He promised he knew what he was doing, that he wanted to look more into her case and how to help her, and yet when we showed up few weeks later for her next time he had zero clue who we were.
Unfortunately I had to put her to sleep, and the whole experience was heartbreaking. I had to wait over 3 hours, and when he walked into the exam room I asked desperately if there is anything that it can be done to help her. He actually got mad and storm out of the exam room saying “ I have other clients to attend to”. He came back 10-15 minutes later, and only asked me “ do you want her ashes back?” My dog was getting worse, her breathing was shallow, it was obvious she was in a lot of pain, and I had no choice. I had to ask him to put her to sleep. If I had any other options I would’ve taken her somewhere else. He was more interested in getting my money than he was guiding me through the process. After it was done, he said “ we will call you when her ashes are back” and they never did. They had her ashes for weeks and never bothered to call me. I finally called the office and they said oh yeah we have them here….
Also, he was more interested in my father and mostly spoke to him, even though it was my dog and I was paying for everything.
Decent prices, wait is long, and he won’t remember who you are or your pet ( unless you’re rich ).

Highly recommend Dr Clark. He is a good old fashioned vet, who is still independent from the VAC Corporate System. He takes care of all my pets for many years now. He has never failed me or them

First of all I just want to say that Dr Clark has quite literally devoted his life to the care of animals and it shows . He is very very busy. Yes you have to wait . No it’s not a fuzzy feel good environment where you sit in a room and wait . But what you get in exchange is someone that KNOWS what they are doing and has years and years of experience. He has seen it all . He knows when to be concerned and when not . He doesn’t fluff your visit up with unnecessary tests or expenses unless it’s needed . If you can’t handle waiting or are someone who must be seen at your exact appointment time don’t come here . If you are someone who is willing to have some leeway and wants an EXPERIENCED vet who knows what to do and when , then come here . Thank you DR CLARK and staff for being good at what you do .

If I could have given a zero star rating, I would have. Long story short, DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE!!! If you want to take the time to know why, please keep reading
Shady "business" from the start. Made an appointment to have my pet checked out. First one available was a week and a half out, but I booked it. On the day of my 1:15 appointment I went to the address given and could hardly find it as there are not Signs for the business at all. Apparently, it is run out of the home of the Vet. Got there and people were sitting in plastic chair outside with their pets in the yard. Checked in and had to fill out my infor and my dogs info. After waiting an hour, they finally took my dog back. 2 hours later I finally got pissed and asked what is going on. Then the doctor said he checked him out and wanted to "squeeze" me in to have x-rays done (like he was doing me a favor after taking 3 hours to make this decision. Then 45 minutes later the Vet wanted to go over the x-ray results. He knew I was upset and kept saying he was doing me a favor to even have done the x-ray because he had to "squeeze" me in and became combative with me. He went over the results and said he should do blood work. I asked him where my dog has been for the last 3.5 hours and what was happening with him. He said he has been fine in some type of box in the back. A BOX??? Then after a little over 4 hours i was given my $700 invoice to pay and told to call back after 9:00am he next morning for blood test results. Called and said call back after 11:00. Gave them more time and didn't call back unitl 1:00. Was put on a 15 minute hold and finally hung up and tried calling back 10 times and got nothing but a busy signal. I sent an email since they would not answer the phone requesting the blood test results and well as x-ray images. The following morning I got an email with two pages of test results with no explanation of what they meant. I still have not received the x-ray images. This Vet purposely over books his appointments and gets behind early in the day which just gets worse as the day goes on. Gets people there, registered and then the wait begins. If you don't believe me, read the other reviews or ask other legitimate Veterinarians in the area about this Dr's reputation. I wish I had before experiencing this for myself.
