I brought my dog in on August 7th 2024 for treatment for an ear infection, the first nurse that saw him was very helpful, she greeted my dog & even gave him treats to make him feel more comfortable. She was able to take his weight & temperature with my help. Then the doctor comes in & hands me a muzzle to put on so he can continue with the examination. My dog has never been muzzled before so he was very uncomfortable & ended up taking the muzzle off. The doctor proceeds to tell me that since he cannot keep the muzzle on they would have to charge me $200 to sedate him TO CHECK HIS EAR which is ridiculous. I ask if there are any other options & we try again with the muzzle. Another nurse comes in & we get the muzzle on but my dog is still being fussy & doesn't want it on. The nurse then puts on a slip lead around his neck (my dog also has his personal leash on which is attached to a prong collar) & as my dog is still moving around trying to get everything off she takes him by the slip lead & his leash & tries to yank him out the door causing his prong collar to puncture his neck which draws some blood. After all this, I go to the front counter to pay for my medication & they try to charge me an exam fee when my dog was never got an examination to begin with. Moral of the story these people are very unprofessional & clearly don't know how to deal with animals. As a vet you should be able to control a dog (especially a non aggressive dog) so they can get the care they need.

I want to give a shout out to Dr.Meina Ragheb. . He has been our vet for 4 of our pets. What I want to talk about in particular today was Dr.Meina helping me with Fat Kitty when we were faced with the super hard decision to not continue on with her care. Fat Kitty had been my love for 18 years. She was taking solensia for arthritis and sometimes gabapentin. She had a bad spine and some incontinence. But she still had a love for life, ate well, and always followed me around seeking a head rub. A few days ago when I got home, we noticed something was different and she was in our dog’s toy basket and meowing but not moving much. Anyway, Dr Menia came to my house as I couldn’t move her to go into the office and asked him to please come to our house and check her out neurologically. He knows Fat and i wouldn’t want anyone else. I think she had already started to shut down but she was hanging on. With compassion and tenderness he helped me to help her to cross over. I didn’t think I could do it, but with Dr. Meina I could do it. He is a wonderful example of the kind of vet that truly makes a difference

Dr Sam diagnosed my geriatric cat's problem 3 days ago. He needed a shot and an xray, and we took home some meds. Kona is eating again and already has his energy back thanks to a Great vet!

This is such a wonderful veterinary hospital. Dr Sam and his technicians are so helpful and caring for my dog. Dr Sam explains in detail what my dog’s issues are and he is very compassionate. I feel their prices are fair and reasonable. So happy I found them!!

Sun surf is amazing ! I have been coming here for years now and I will never go to another vet. Before sun surf I was jumping around from vet to vet, trying to find someone that actually cares about the animals and isn't just trying to make a quick buck. The staff at sun surf have always been nothing but the best. They are friendly, respectful and you can tell they truly take pride in what they do. Thank you sun surf for loving and caring for my dog as if she was your own !

Sun & Surf has been our medical provider for our dog and our cat. New to the area, we sought a vet with a loving hand and equal consideration for the humans! Both animals have needed the care - medical, surgical - provided by Sun/Surf. They have been remarkable in both care and service.

I took my dog there because I was told she had a cracked tooth by 2 different vets. Sun surf quoted $ 800-1000. I agreed. When the had her sedated they called and said they did a deep cleaning. When I picked her up the bill was $911.00. Also I had asked that while she was sedated they trim her nails short. As her groomer can't get them short enough while she is awake. They said they would. They did not trim them at all. This place is a giant rip off!! I will never go back.

Excellent doctor and friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and detail oriented. We felt very to have them do the anesthesia free dental cleaning. Office manager Marisol was extremely helpful and follow up.
