I had a difficult platinum (invisible setting) ring resized and it came out GREAT! Both Mr Otten & Vallot are a wealth of knowledge! Very kind, HONEST and professional! I would highly recommend them in the future.

This review is long overdue. I met Lothar over 20 years ago. When it was time to choose wedding rings, he was the first name I could think of was Otten and Vallot. So then I wanted to have a pillar made for my wife. She was pregnant at the time and I wanted a piece that would be of my design to celebrate our new baby. So the Lothar and his partner were gracious enough to listen to my ideas and what I came up with. They made a wax model of the design and it was ready to be cast. Long story short, it was a struggle for me to keep my family above water for a while, 10 years, in fact, and Lothar and Vallot held on to the wax model. I finally contacted them again and I told them I wanted another piece made, along with the one they prepared a wax model for. Randall worked with me personally and he made the process of design very simple. He communicated with me extensively and made sure I liked what I saw. I was able to both pieces after about 10 years. I wasn't sure if I would ever get the pieces done, but they certainly had some kind of faith in me. I can't say enough about the craftsmanship and quality and the respect they have shown me. I cannot recommend them enough. Every time someone asks me about where to have any jewelry made or repaired or looked, I always refer people to their shop. Thanks to them for their work and dedication to the customer.

I've known Lothar and Randy for over 30 years. Their work speaks volumes. The end results are perfection. Fair prices, outstanding work, service, and top-notch quality is why I keep coming back for more. Do yourself a favor, before you purchase elsewhere, check them out. You'll be amazed. They have great gems and designs. They also resize, fix/repair, clean, and so much more. Trust me. You won't be disappointed.

Great selection of loose stones and low prices. One of the few gem collectors in the area, they have what stores do not carry. No frills but great service. They are a hidden gem. Check them before your next purchase.

This is the best, high quality jewelry store in Orange County. The precision and attention to detail makes their pieces exceptional. I have purchased pieces from them, have had things made, and repaired. Always beyond pleased with the work. You are given time and patience to get exactly what you want. I would recommend you go here and get quality from real Gemologists that have taught college level than over priced stamp out jewelry in the malls.

I have dealt with Otten Vallot for decades. You literally won't find a more honest jeweler on the planet! All thier jewelry is the finest grade possible for the price offered. I have used them for custom work, cleaning and everything in between. Anybody that I bring in the door, not only becomes lifetime customer, but a friend. This place is truely Surf City's best kept secret. Don't even bother with other places, you will just be wasting your money and your time. Five stars, seriously isn't a high enough rating, for someone you can always count on, no matter what. Thank you guys for being there, for every special occasion in my life. I was in the market for an engagement ring, for my now fiance. I was recommended by a friend who had recently gone through the same process, and spoke highly of the company. Showing up unannounced, Lothar put off his lunch break to assist me. He was an absolute wealth of knowledge, answered all of my questions, eased my concerns, and made recommendations to ideas I had never even thought of. I was walked through the entire process of making a custom ring, from start to finish. We looked at multiple stones through microscopes, until I found the perfect one that matched the specs I had requested. I later met Randy, who took over with the process of crafting the band. Just as attentive and eager to understand my exact needs, he was always available to communicate with me via email, any time of the day. I was even sent a computer generated image of what the final product would look like before the ring was completed, to get my final approval. Due to their low overhead, you'll be pressed to find more reasonable prices, elsewhere. I am beyond satisfied with my experience at Otten Vallot & Company, and plan to be a return customer for our wedding bands. Oh, and my fiance couldn't be happier with the ring of her dreams. Thank you for everything, Lothar and Randy.
