I used to think Jack's would be a cool place to shop, but I was always too large for their clothes. Unfortunately, I got cancer and am terminal, so I went from 240 lbs ton105 lbs. I came back home to Huntington Beach where I grew up, so I could see friends and say farewell. I really wanted to look good and feel good about myself and spend the little money I have left to my name; so I could finally buy some clothes I always liked seeing in Jack's. Inspite of my current issues, I really thought getting clothes from Jack's; would make me feel like a million bucks, even if the clothes are extremely overpriced for tourists. For the most part, everything went as planned. The store atmosphere was great, the service and attentiveness from the employees that helped me the two days in a row I shopped. Mind you, I'm 105 lbs now, and pretty ashamed to look at myself and my saggy skin and bones in the mirror, so, I never try anything on in store, because I might get emotionally upset and be reminded I'm on borrowed time; Soni picked out the items I liked and paid for them. I didn't even pay attention to prices, because at this point, o can't take the money with me; so I bought what I liked and was happy about my purchases. Everything was fantastic, except for 2 items. One was a Billabong Jacket that looked really nice and had some weight to it, but when I put it on, I felt so small inside of it, like I was wearing a circus tent, and it made me feel bad about myself so I went to return it. The other item was a nice pair of black corduroy Quicksilver pants. As I'm only 105 lbs, my waist is extremely small. When I go in looking for pants of any kind, the smallest size anyone ever carries is a 28; so I had been forever under the impression that unless special ordered, 28/30 is the smallest mens size. So I asked the person helping me to grab me their smallest pair. He did as I asked, but it wasn't until I tried to put the pants on, that I realized they were too small. He had actually found a size 27!! Who would have guessed? I sure didn't. Unfortunately for me, I had taken the tags off and threw them away; expecting to wear this pair of pants to meet a friend I hadn't seen in years and I wanted to look nice. They didnt fit, so I tried to take them back with the jacket, not to return, but just to exchange one size up. The employee refused to exchange the pants, telling me that even though I had the receipt and bought them about a week ago, before visiting San Diego, and was under the 30 day return/ exchange limit. Because I had taken off the tags, he would not even exchange a pair of pants I have paid over $70 for. He then accused me of washing them! Why would I do that to a pair of pants that didn't fit. At this point, I'm offended. I own cats as my emotional support animals, and all of my clothes are covered in cat hair, as well as my car, backpack, suitcase, blanket ECT.. there was cat hair on the pants, and had I known he would accuse me of washing them; adding insult to injury as he refused to exchange a $70 pair of pants, that I will never get to wear unless I'm a hair from my deathbed and lose more weight; I would have gotten a lint roller and made the pants spotless had I know or thought it would help. As much as I liked the clothes and the good gentlemen who gave me great assistance in finding what I though would make me feel handsome again; I will not be coming back to Jack's. I was extremely offended and went back to my car and cried. I probably wont live long enough to come back to Huntington Beach anyways, but if I had the opportunity to choose if I do or not; based in this experience, I would say most definitely not. Just want to give you all a heads up on how the higher ups are at this store and the tourist prices. Make up your own mind, cause the clothes are nice. Just be wary of what you buy, try it on, do t take off the tags because you're excited to look good. Just in the off chance you run into the guy who made me feel small, stupid, and ugl

Came in to check out some long boards with my daughter. Got some help from Ginger. He had the best demeanor and knowledge from any other surf store we've been to. Explained board types to surf style ratio. She was looking for a 8ft board and Ginger def helped point her in the right direction. Alton vs Odysea. Great information exchanged. If you want an honest sale with with tons of information and research, come to Jack's. Highly impressed with this young man!

Cool shop with lots of very popular brands. If you time their sales right you are able to get alot of name brand times at very reasonable prices!

Got a great deal on a new Fish board here, and it was a wonderful experience. Everything from ordering, to the customer service, to the pick up in store went without a hitch. They even disposed of the packaging and installed my fins for me, all within minutes. And I got a great price to boot! If you're looking for some surfing or beach gear, give Jack's a try!

Horrible customer service. Maybe a cultural diverse training for your unkind staff. Rude! They had staff walking around us like we were going to steal something.

Great selection of gear, location is ideal at PCH and Main in HB. It's become a bit touristy over the years. I guess I miss the old brick building. I might be getting old as well because all the staff look like they are 12.Don't buy clothes that have been outside on the street in the sun during their sales. The shoulders on the shirts can get sun bleached and that great deal won't seem so great later when you realize you bought a two-tone shirt. Not that that ever happened to me. ;)

Says it closes at 9pmThe “kid” working closed the doors at 8:40 and wouldn’t let a customer come in during hours of operation. Do better and not turn down customers DURING hours of operation!!! How embarrassing for a “well known staple” in Huntington Beach…. I’ll be taking mine and all my students for surf lessons this summer elsewhere for suits

I love coming here to shop. But way too many young immature employees who don't know how to greet, give rude looks (mostly the females), they stand around talking and I know they can tell when someone needs help they avoid it as much as possible. This store is big but hardly any room to navigate around especially with a stroller. These employees stand around in the way just chit chatting it up!! Merchandise is always great but the service needs a clean up.

My most recent visit today was the last time i'll be giving a dime of my money to this company. Upon entering, the two girls working in the women's department did not greet me, but rather looked me up and down and gave me a very dirty look. I made my way to the men's section already thrown aback only to find even worse service. The floor was full of employees and hardly any customers. Not one employee asked if I needed help nor did they greet me. While shopping, a male employee shouted, "I'm sorry to do this to you, but someone just called asking if we still had an item in stock so you need to find it" and the female employee responded with, "why did you even pick up the phone?". It was an uncomfortable, unprofessional and inappropriate conversation to witness. My boyfriend and I made our way to the register after an hour of being within the store and not having received any communication from the Jack's employees. I had to get the cashier's attention that we wanted to pay as she was very occupied with sitting and doing nothing. It's unfortunate to come to a store you've shopped at for years to experience such a lack of customer service. It isn't my job to ask for help, it is the employee's position to be there to do what they're paid for. I own a women's clothing boutique and would be mortified and ashamed if my employees treated a customer this way. It isn't a good look for the company as your employees are a reflection of you.

This is a review for the t-shirts. Wow. Very poor quality. My kids got some in October and they are already trashed. So faded and cracked lettering and images. We have t-shirts that are YEARS old from Target that have held up so much better. At probably under $10 a pop. Hot Topic t-shirts too. Unfortunate. They are fun shirts for the month or two they don’t look like rags.
