Besides the fact that we had an excellent surfing lesson, Patrick & Joey helped us when we lost the keys to our rental car. The owners at Corky’s called Triple A for us and got the car unlocked. They also stayed with us until our car was towed, and Joey gave us a ride to the visitor’s center so we could catch our Uber. They made our sucky situation bearable with their kindness. If we’re back at Huntington Beach, we will definitely go back to them!

My review isn’t personally about the surf school itself, it’s more about the guy who runs it. I went to this surf school in bolsa chica as a kid and loved it. Unfortunately, I met the owner Keith in lineup on a 1-2ft day and he was out there acting like he owned the beach and decides to disrespect the etiquette of surfing. I was out for about an hour and first he cuts me off and I end up swimming for my board. I let it go and didn’t say a word nor did I get an apology next waves comes through and I’m minding my business and he comes up and paddles into me on purpose and starts cussing me out. Later did I have to find out who he was from other surfers in the water saying he does this a lot. I felt I had to write this review because it’s a guy who is teaching a new generation of surfing and if he’s not gonna respect the roots and etiquette. I feel like he shouldn’t be teaching or let alone own the surf school. He doesn’t practice what he preaches.

OH MAN was this an incredible experience! I was scared half to death before and during the lesson. Hunter and Phil were incredibly patient and motivating. I did a one on one class and would recommend to anyone to try. It is NOT easy and was something completely out of my comfort zone, but I am so glad I did it! The adrenaline is still pumping!

I had a lesson from Patrick today and it was so fun. I've had a few lessons before but Patrick helped me take it to the next level. Did I mention it was fun????? I definitely will be back...likely tomorrow! I also rented e-bikes from Board Members and rode up and down the coast all afternoon. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Highly recommended...both places.

I purchased a lesson for my 14 year old stepson and it was the highlight of our trip for him. He was able to stand up multiple times and his instructor did a lot of work paddling him around and pushing him into waves, especially at the beginning. Hopefully this is just the beginning of surfing for him. I brought cash to pay and tip as that is a bit of a discount from the regular price. It was a foggy day but it really didn’t matter. My son says the wetsuit they provide kept him warm so only his feet really felt any cold. The whole family and his mom watched him from the beach. I highly recommend this company and their lessons.

My private lesson with Phil was a great experience. I have had 5 group lessons before this and had no problem standing up after being pushed into a wave. However, when I paddle out by myself, I get confused about how to select a wave and time it correctly. Phil really took the time to explain the science behind wave formation and wave selection. It was a gnarly day, but he gave me tricks on how to get past the break with bigger waves and rough conditions. We worked on pop up timing and technique as well. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Phil and I would recommend him to any beginner surfer who is looking to advance their skills and get more comfortable paddling out solo. I had a great time and felt like I got a lot out of my lesson that I can take with me the next time I surf.

My husband and I had a surfing lesson yesterday in Huntington Beach. Our instructor was Axle. He was just awesome. Friendly, fun, and kept us safe. He was focused on our success and having a great time and we did! 5 stars, I would definitely recommend Corky’s Surf School!

Great surf instruction run by people who care about their students. My son enjoyed the junior surf camp and I enjoyed the private instruction across the two weeks we were in Huntington Beach.

This was our first year doing the surf school. My boys are 5 and 8. They didn’t have any experience at all surfing prior to surf camp, and by Friday they had improved a ton!We had to drive 40 mins each way, and I didn’t know if it was going to be worth it. My kids had an absolute blast! My kids are asking if we can do surf camp again next week! We will definitely be back next year.The instructors were fantastic. One of my kids was was really nervous the first morning, and they helped him take baby steps until he was comfortable. By the end of the week he was riding waves all day. I can’t say enough good things about Corky Carroll’s. We all loved it! We are already looking forward to doing it again next summer!

Surf Camp was my boy's favorite camp of the summer. The team were great with our kids. My son is a surfer now! He loves the ocean and that is thanks to you all!!!

The whole experience was fantastic! From a cheaper payment (if you pay cash) to the very friendly staff. My instructor was super patient and helpful the whole time - it was my first-time surfing, so I definitely needed the help. I will definitely be using these guys again. Fully recommend!
