This was the original elementary school for Huntington Beach. It has been subdivided and remodeled extensively into a gym and indoor pool. There are still some original classrooms and walking down the hallway is a blast from the past! Very interesting place to just walk around and check out. It’s very creaky and old!

It is such a cute spot and so easily located near the downtown area. Right next door to the middle school. I always thought this was the pool for the school UNTIL my love child started attending the middle school few years ago. The city gym and pool offer a variety of classes, groups, and sports. The pool is INDOORS and they offer a variety of classes and exercise groups. The gym always seems to be full with volleyball teams practicing and competing. The location has ample parking on the street OR a small lot (that has tons of lighting if you are here past sun down). Parking is not an issue. Very easy. The middle school field next door turns into a dog park after hours. And there seems to be a lot of us locals around. The homeless population seems to stay clear of this area. I'm assuming it's due to the three schools in the area. So you will feel safe. But still pay attention to your surroundings and lock your car doors. We are in 2022. Opportunist everywhere these days. The building is historic or feels historic. It has the old vintage feel to it. I think it's adorable and they keep it very clean. HB Sands magazine advertises a lot of classes, groups and sports here. And any class I am interested in I really enjoy coming here.

Parking available in the lot across the street, or along the sidewalk. Oftentimes there is congestion and traffic in finding a parking spot in the lot.1) We took 2 sessions of Parent/Child Level 2 in Winter/Spring 20192) We took 2 sessions of PA1 in Spring/Summer 2019 - instructor was Jane3) Recreational swim is available on M/W from 630-8pm for all ages, then for adults only from 8-830pm4) we also took 1 session of PA2 & 2 sessions of PA3 in summer / fall 2019 before covid hit. Instructors were Conrad & Emmie. Toddler passed all PA1,2,3 levels and look forward to more difficult lessons once Covid is over!

One of HB's best kept secrets. I worked here for a while so I might be biased but this center is awesome. There are many things to do for free or for cheap. If you have kids this is a fantastic and cheap place to take swimming lessons (indoor pool is a +). If you have a middle schooler send them here to play in the game room or shoot hoops before you pick them up. If that same teenager wants to do sports or take a class, look through the catalog for the huge selection of low priced classes and sign them up. In the same catalog you will find, Tae Kwon Do (shout-out to Master Kia, amazing guy), exercise, dance, aquacise, art classes, and adult sport leagues too. This center is connected with a few other city operated centers in Huntington Beach so there might be a better class/location to sign up for. It was crazy to me that locals would walk in and say they've never heard about this place and lived a block away! Come here and check it out to see for yourself, I highly recommend the City Gym & Pool!

I dont really go here to play sports or take a swim but they have a nice pooling table and table tennis. I like how the place looks like a small moment.
