Alta Orsa Winery is a small, intimate winery off the beaten path in the Mendocino hills above Hopland, offering a fabulous treat and commanding views. For nearly three decades, this pioneer has produced elegant, balanced, and top-notch wines from its estate vineyard and selected California sites, with a proud heritage of hand-crafting. The experience is completely opposite the commercialized Napa experience. It is a romanticized notion where every aspect is managed on the property, with no tractors in the organic vineyard and minimal machinery. Visitors can tour the vineyards, learn about the thoughtful methods, and speak directly with the vineyard manager and winemaker. It is the best winery experience imaginable, providing personal attention, a very worthwhile visit, and amazing wine, including intense mountain Cabernets and Syrah compared to the best of the region. It is a reliable adventure, totally worth the drive.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL setting/scenery, quiet and peaceful. Staff/owners were extremely nice and helpful. Went here with my Raptor club and there was about 45'ish of us and they accommodated us all. Wine was delicious. Highly recommend
