2140 Westwood Blvd #224, Los Angeles“First purchase from Rees and my first typewriter. I did quite a bit of research before selecting a typewriter I was looking for. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the specific typewriter I was after, but had my second pick.
I can’t speak highly enough of the customer service experience with this shop. I was called very promptly and informed the typewriter I wanted had just sold, was walked through other options, and found a different typewriter I had been interested in.
The shipping was unbelievably fast. I had my typewriter well before I expected to. The item was packed delicately a thoughtfully, which can be an issue when buying typewriters - a lot of sellers don’t know how to ship them correctly and safely.
The machine works flawlessly. I typed 4-5 pages, using every key and variant multiple times, at speed (I’m a fast typeset), and went through all the machines functions.
The case is in great shape, considering. These are older machines.
Will definitely be making purchases in the future.”

“i bought my wife a 1959 Royal Futura 600 typewriter on etsy. it was supposed to be in great shape. it was not. i took the typewriter to ruben for restoration. when i got it back, it looked like new. more importantly, it typed like new. the wifey is very happy. my only caution to potential customers is to not expect a turnaround in a couple days. you will probably be waiting a month or so. ruben literally disassembles, cleans, repairs & rebuilds your machine. that is not a quick process so do not expect a quick return. its worth the wait!”
“We've been long time customers, around 40 years, of The Barn. Recently moved across the country and I knew they's have just the piece I needed to complete my breakfast room. I called in and let Leon know what I was looking for, he took me through the showroom with his phone on FaceTime so I could see the options available and found EXACTLY what I had in mind. “I was in dire need for a new print shop who could work with my jobs, which require lining up double sided color prints perfectly and be able to do it at a reasonable cost. I needed a job printed today - and stumbled upon this place, called them and brought in my job for some test prints which they did with the best customer service! I came back 20 minutes later with the full run of over 80 prints and they had them done in half an hour for me, printed very nicely! I will definitely be bringing more of my work there in the future.”

But recently, I have been really bummed out with the lack of professionalism in the area of ordering items for my publishing. I am giving a 4-star review as a cumulative score. It does not in any way represent my current level of frustration which would be about a negative 3 stars. It was the first time I ran out of staples in my finisher, and I quickly dashed to the website to order the necessary items. I found them, clicked on them, ordered the correct items and quantity, and added my requested information such as address and payment. Then I waited. No staples arrive. After a week, I contacted them to see what the hold-up was. Hmm. I was told I needed to have a quote for staples. I should not have been able to order them on the website. So I asked for a quote. No quote arrived. So I phoned again. They said they'd check my order and send it straight out if it was needed. Nothing arrived. Not via email or as the package of staples I needed. In the meantime, I began sewing some of my more important documents being printed. Yes, you can imagine the time. After five (5) phone calls, we established that they had misspelled my email and sent me zero quotes for my still-needed staples. Amazingly, the bills manage to have the correct email addresses on them. Today - ONE MONTH AFTER ORDERING INITIALLY - I received notice that yes, after SIX phone calls, my staples had finally been ordered and would arrive in 3-4 business days. Again, after my publication date. The tracking number included in the invoice came back as unstable by the shipper. When I contacted the company again regarding the tracking number, I was "disconnected" THREE times (one-time mid-conversation, two additional calls that just blipped after I was connected). When I asked to speak to a manager, I was basically refused. My advice: Know who you are dealing with. Not every person on this team will be as helpful and pleasant as the initial contact individuals. Once you have a contract, you pretty much have to deal with that platform unless you terminate. Usually, it's been okay. But at this point, I am banging my head on a wall because it's going to be another week with NO STAPLES in my publication. It results in a very poor representation of our company's product.”
