Very poor customer experience at this location. After 20 years of renting cars for work all over the US, this must be the worst experience in my list. I was scolded, ignored, and treated poorly. I wanted to walk away but had made the error of prepaying for the car. Never rent from here till they improve the customer experience. And never prepay.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Zero stars is too many. THEY ARE RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. I get that it sucks being on Highland in Hollywood and all the implied challenges but this Avis location is a problem.

This is the best branch of Avis Car Rental in Los Angeles. The staff here are always friendly and very professional. I rent cars from here on a regular basis and have always gotten cars that are clean, well maintained and ready to go. When I rent the staff seems to always have my car parked right outside the front door so easy to find and be on my way. If I have a problem with my rental it takes a quick call and return to location and my issues are resolved quickly and I am back on my way with an apology and a smile. I skip any airport location and choose local location because of the service they provide.

DO NOT RENT HERE…. I REPEAT DO NOT RENT HERE.I show up 30 minutes before my reservation for a full sized sedan. The lady at the desk tries to give me a free upgrade for an SUV to “get me on my way”. Tried to get me to sign the acknowledge form for damages before she even hands me the key. I ask for the vehicle make and model and she says I have to sign the damage acknowledgement form before she can hand me the keys…. But how can I if I don’t know what the vehicle or condition it’s in?!?! Had to argue with her for it, when she finally gives in… and I kid you not, the vehicle had so many little damages that were not marked on the sheet which I confront her about. She then tries to tell me that she already processed the rental (I hadn’t even signed or initialed anything at this point) and that I had to return it early since I came in early…. Also, my corporate discount comes with LDW (greyed out, so I can’t even cancel it) which was somehow not on the reservation so she made me pay for it…. There’s a difference in trying to upsell someone and being an absolute lunatic. Wish I could’ve recorded the whole conversation. Not to mention her mini tantrum throwing the car keys around when I told her I wanted a different vehicle was pathetic to say the least.Ultimately, I got my full sized sedan which wasn’t at all cleaned insixe, had so many damages that I had to mark down so I don’t get dinged for it…. AND, the gas tank was 3/4 full. She argues it’s all because I came in early that’s the best they could do, but I never rushed them and had I’d known it was a nuisance we would’ve been okay waiting.Please avoid this location unless you’re planning on being treated like garbage. All the scathing reviews about this place is quite accurate!

I booked mustang, but they gave me a malibu not any partial refund, they just forced to me a understanding. Terrible customer service in whole america.

The lady behind the front desk was extremely rude, I had paid for a large suv and was told that the car I had paid for was a Kia soul (compact car) or pay for an upgrade. She clearly gets commission and was trying to get me to pay for an upgrade. 10 minutes later (I said I was going to contact Avis via phone as she was so unhelpful) the large suv that I had paid for was available (it was parked up when we arrived) The car was filthy inside, had no time to complain as we were on a tight timescale. The lady also made us pay for an additional driver even though it was part of our reservation and will be contacting BA over this. Will never use Avis again, poor customer service and I can see from the reviews that this same lady continues to be rude to every customer that comes in.

quite frankly the staff member we spoke to here was unbelievably rude and completely unhelpful. having had to go to an avis location for the second time this week due to faulty cars, the lady behind the desk informed us that we had to drive out of town in a dangerous car posing a risk to our safety. the worst car rental company i have ever experienced.

Terrible service!!!We booked a car for 8am in the morning. Come 9:30 we still have not received our car, not to mention the lady at the front desk is exceptionally rude/has the worst customer service I have encountered. We watched a few other people’s encounters whilst waiting for our car and they seemed to be having a worse experience than us - with the lady almost shouting at one group of customers. Terrible service and very disappointing given AVIS is supposedly a well recognized, international brand!

Rented a vehicle at the 1333 North Highland location in LA. We had to return our original vehicle because of one of the tires. No problems with the exchange and Tony provided excellent service.

Returned my Budget rental earlier today and that was super smooth (took less than 2 minutes!!). Nothing to complain so far. Gentleman receiving the car was professional.Will be picking up another rental later today / tomorrow, hope that goes well too. Will update this review after that!

Worst service I’ve ever received from Avis anywhere in the world. Didn’t have my car, unwilling to help. Tried to get me to pay a walk up for a large SUV. The woman working there claimed her system was “locked” so she couldn’t help me. I was struggling to book another class on the app. Taxi’ed to another location to find a suitable car. All of the previous reviews that have echoed the same sentiment about terrible service are exactly what I experienced and I’m Avis preferred with a corporate AWD. Avis corporate should be ashamed to have these people running this location.

AWFUL customer service. Personally, if I was Avis I would be ashamed to let the man who served us be working for the company.Walked in, didn’t say a word to us for the first 5 minutes. Then gave us no information on the car, no walk around of damage, nothing. Charged my card, didn’t mention it was a deposit… Literally handed us the keys and that was it, didn’t even tell us what car it was or where it was parked so had to find it ourselves.If you can, I would advise you pick up your car from another company in Hollywood or a different Avis branch outside.Seems like he hates customers. He should remember without customers, he wouldn’t have a job.

Never rent from this location or Avis. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever received. I booked and paid in full 4 months in advance, but was fobbed off with a vastly inferior car and told the booking meant nothing, it was just what they had on the day. Took weeks and weeks to get a half decent refund of the difference in rental rate. In spite of returning the car full of fuel and confirming all was fine, the agent later charged me for more fuel. In my opinion this place seems to be run more as a scam than a legitimate rental agency.
