This establishment employs trainers and managers that are more liabilities than assets. I've had my membership for quite sometime and incidents that happened in the past couple of weeks is a lawsuit waiting to happen. It wouldn't surprise me if there's one in the works. The incident involved a trainer, YMCA officials and the trainer's posse. The trainer's name is Sharley. She teaches classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays. I attended her Tuesdays and Thursdays classes. This trainer is a narcissist. Enjoys belittling other people. She has no qualms in embarrassing and bullying people in her class to include her own husband and everyone knows this. In the past few weeks, she's told us that she has some unknown rashes on her chest and she can't isolate where it's coming from. She didn't tell us what she's done within her power to check whether it's from her house or elsewhere. Instead she randomly told us to refrain from using any products with any type of fragrances before class. This is impossible to adhere to as this means you have to take a shower prior to taking her class. Fragrances are found from lotions, deodorants, perfume, shampoos, conditioners, cleaning supplies, to name a few. That's how she addressed her personal issue to the entire facility who takes her classes. If she catches you with some sort of anything with fragrance she and her posse willbully you. She will humiliate you in front of the class and others will chime in and join her with this bullying. Almost everyone in the class complains about not being able to use lotion or moisturizer before class and everyone is too afraid to speak about it but one person. This person was outed by Sharley and YMCA for not allowing her to use her own sanitizer. Sharley said she can't be around anything with fragrance. The sanitizer supposedly has fragrance and the fragrance from that particular sanitizer is somehow causing unknown rashes on her chest. Sanitizers are also provided for patrons to use by YMCA. These wall mounted sanitizers can be found throughout the facility. Everyone is encouraged to use these sanitizers as often as they'd like. There are no signage stating otherwise. These facility-provided sanitizers have fragrances but somehow she doesn't break out from those wall mounted sanitizers. That person brought it up to YMCA manager the issue but the response she received was to limit her usage of her own sanitizer or they can sanitize her weights before use so she doesn't have to use sanitizer in-between. This is a joke and not even a solution. We also do floor exercises. We touch the dirty floor with our bare hands. Are they going to sanitize the floor each time we touch it? It's incomprehensible that, that was the response she received. The facility limited her use of sanitizer and the alternate solution wasn't enough to adequately provide a happy medium between the trainer and the patron. What if the patron has a medical condition that she didn't feel disclosing to anyone that requires her to use sanitized equipments? It's obvious, YMCA is protecting Sharley from her unknown medical condition but how about their patrons with known skin medical conditions? There are skin conditions that requires moisturizers, lotions, creams to provide barriers from germs and bacteria or they risk getting infection. How about those people? Do we come to class with doctors note stating such? Why do we all have to suffer when the issue is the instructor? Why can't she wear protective clothing cool enough to workout in? How do we know that the rashes she has aren't contagious or staph that she now has exposed us to?YMCA needs to step up the game and conduct further investigation. By allowing this to happen, you've created a hostile environment where patrons have to watch their backs from bullies. This is supposed to be a safe place for everyone and bullying shouldn't be condoned.

Summer Camp review. This was my kids first year and they had an amazing experience. We love the Y summer camp and we recommend it to everyone who has children that wants to have a wonderful summer. I would like to thank the Y team for giving the kids an unforgettable summer experience. Oh and the bead ceremony is a great idea. Both kids were excited at the end of the day and Friday was extra special with the golden bead.
