Hands down one of the worst experiences you can have. Do not buy a bike here and do not expect it to get serviced it here. There is so much disfunction here, save yourself the headache and the aggregation that goes along with trying to get help.

Been trying to get a display screen repaired since August, was told today to bring it in again so it could be tested again.

This place is actually terrible they wasted days of my time the lady on the phone she said my bike was done and it wasn’t. She said my bike would be done by 6:30 so I left around six and went out once I got there there was nobody there until like 10 minutes later when somebody finally open the door and then they said oh, I’m sorry we don’t work on your bike even though the lady that called me, saying my bike was done lied. Then when I tried to buy a tube to fix it myself the guy gave me the wrong size tube and said that was the right one. I had dropped it off on like Friday and they said it’d take them almost 3 days to fix a flat. Terrible customer service the lady at the front desk is a horrible liar do not go to this bike shop they are terrible.

I wanted to write about the tremendous customer service I received from the owner and his team. I was cycling down the California Coast and had a mechanical problem with my bike. I found STRAND Bikes on my phone and walked my bike to their door. They were not open yet - but the owner came out, saw my problem and knowing I was essentially stranded, dropped everything to help me find a replacement part (he had it in stock) and install it. He even offered me a DISCOUNT on this tremendous service. I am in the market for some E-Bikes and I will gladly drive up from San Diego to buy them from STRAND. Thank you all.

After looking online for places that would take a look at our Second-hand low mileage Blix Bike motor issue. Geoff’s team diagnosed and corrected the issue within a weeks time. Being a family cargo bike he helped ensure a thorough review of the motor and practically reset the bike motor to new. Function and speed are there; impressive work for what I thought was a doomed purchase. Thanks!

I am not one to leave bad reviews. But I feel you need to know what to expect if you give these guys your business. We bought 2 ebikes from them 2 years ago. That purchase experience was fine. The 1st year maintenance is included (otherwise costs $100) so last year was fine, but did take a week to get done. We rode our bikes there today to get an annual service. Don't expect customer service. These guys do NOT want to service the bikes they sell to you. He said they had a $99"special" on their service, but wouldn't tell us what it included--super vague. He said to oil the chain and clean it up, among other "vague things" would be $150. We asked how much it was just to tighten the brakes..that was $70! He would not explain the differences in their services and then said they were really backed up and couldn't get to the bikes for over a week. Not ok since we ride them almost daily. Zero customer service.. it's like they were trying to get us to leave? It worked, we left and said we were taking your business elsewhere. They just did not care. So we rode down to Hermosa Pier and took our bikes to Mark at the Hermosa bike shop. So friendly, and explained exactly what was in the service they offered. By the way if you want to get your brakes tightened, it's only $20 and if you have an e-bike, there's an extra $15 surcharge because they're so heavy to lift. They can do a full service (chain oiled, tightening, brakes adjusted, bikes cleaned up, plus more) and have them ready by tomorrow. Onward and upward!

Definitely NOT the best place to purchase an ebike.I bought two ebikes there for my teenagers last year. Both ebikes were serviced within 7 days of the purchase for faulty brakes. Over the next 10months I had both ebikes serviced at the Strand 11x. Each and every time the technician and the owner Geoff commented that this was totally normal but finally agreed to replace the brakes after I requested a full refund admitting that they were not adequate for the e bikes and that their new line would have stronger and better quality brakes.We were indicated from a friend to check them out in the beginning but later on found out that 10 other friends had similar issues with the brakes and were extremely unsatisfied with the service and quality of the products purchased as well as the unprofessional service.What was even worse and shocking was that Geoff the owner was trying to charge $300 to substitute the brakes that never worked on our e bikes and also charged several of our friends who also bought ebikes from him.Finally the two ebikes we purchased didn’t match the website price that was $250 lower. So there was definitely a bait and switch going on there too. Beware. There excuse was that thr website hadn’t been updated but until today it remained the same price and was never updated. Very dishonest.The Strand and owner Geoff were NOT professional, nor respectful and don’t take their business serious from our experience.Warning when choosing a bike store on the beaches to buy your ebikes please search around for other options than the Strand. Very bad experience with them and we later found that other stores are totally different respectful and professional and respect the customer and care about their needs.

I have been in the market for an assisted bicycle for several months. Being 5' tall it was difficult to find one that would accommodate my height. I found a few online, but didn't feel comfortable making a big ticket purchase without being able to test ride. My husband came across STRAND Electric Bikes and I found a bike perfect for me! Geoff was very knowledgeable and patient in answering all of my questions and concerns. I appreciate his professionalism and friendliness. Thank you Geoff for helping me pick out a bicycle best suited for me. I absolutely love my beach cruiser style e-bike! The power makes getting up hills effortless. Now I'm able to ride to the beach and back without fear of getting cramps while tackling inclines. I love everything about my new bicycle and would highly recommend this spot for all your biking needs.

My bike threw its chain just as I was passing by the STRAND bike shop last week. I asked to borrow a tool and then struggled with the repair.The technician took over and he had to remove the back wheel to get the chain loose. He then proceeded not just reassemble it, but to do a quick tuneup of the derailleur, and the brakes before he let me have the bike back, and adjusted the seat heigth too.He really helped me out, and when I asked how much I owed, he just said, "No charge! Just bring it in for a full tuneup the next time it needs one."Now that's service!
