I called the salon requesting an appointment and no one called me back. I called again to make an appointment and someone answered and said they would tentatively schedule an appointment for me They gave me a date and time and said that they would call me back to confirm. No one called back.

Finding a stylist when you move to a new area can be challenging. I have been to see ELISE twice now. First time was a hair rescue after a horrible hack job (literally) by another stylist. This time I got highlights and she exceeded my expectations yet again. I highly recommend. Thanks Elise !! I'll be back again and again and again.

My experience was wonderful. They followed every rules pertaining to the requirements regarding the sanitizing and containing social distancing.Karly my hairstylist listened to what I wanted done. I also asked her to offer her expertise regarding the services and style for me.This was my first visit with her and I am very happy with the end results.Bonnie the receptionist was awesome and called me for an earlier appointment and I said yes.The salon was impeccably clean and they have ample parking.I highly recommend Salon 1085 in Hermosa Beach.

Poor management led by Bonnie and rude front of staff Jordan makes this place less than a star. I made an appointment for me and my 2 girls (13 & 6) which they confirmed. While I was taken first, both Jordan and Bonnie said my 2 girls couldn't wait inside and instructed them to wait outside! They claim because of "covid" but the capacity was not even close to the 25% capacity. Did they really think a 13 year old and 6 year should really wait 40 mins by themselves out on the street and in 100 degree weather after they made the appointment!!This place doesn't care about its customers nor their safety. After I instructed we were all leaving after I was done and not follow through with their cuts, they even had the audacity to ask I pay half of their cuts for blocking out time for them! Don't waste your time and money here. It's really shameful.

Sometimes you're on a hot streak. Kind of like a squirrel who got the most nuts. And other days you wake up and all you see is a swamp monster in the mirror. Like, you look gross. That's when you come see Natalie Tye. One flick of her brush will take you from rural and clueless to too hot to handle. I first came to see her for a cut. I looked like Cousin It's older cousin who had a tough life. She had to use sheers from a dog groomer to make me hot again, it was not a job for the meek! Now I go to her for color too. Plus, they have wine!

I absolutely love everything about this salon. Crystal does my hair and she's been doing it for years. I have been absolutely thrilled with all the work she has done on my hair. I really like the ambience of the salon and the minute you walk in they offer you a drink. It's so nice and comfortable there. The hair washes are superb, and I love that I can go there and buy all the products that I need. I get compliments on my hair every day because of Crystal and I am so thankful for her help!!!!! I will never switch to a different salon! Great prices, easy parking, great location and wonderful stylists !!!!! I also recently got extensions done by Crystal and nobody has any idea that I have them in I just keep getting more and more hair compliments!!! Crystal has brought my hair from black to blonde to light brown to basically anything that I want!!! Amazing !!!!!!

Very beautiful salon in Hermosa! Virginia did a great job on my extremely thick hair. I really like that I get to enjoy an 805 beer while I get my haircut. (They also had other options like wine, coffee, etc) All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming from the minute you walk in. If you get a chance check out Salon 1085 and Virginia.

This place is the worst place I've ever seen,when I booked my appointment, I briefly explained what I want, Which was full highlights including baby lights and root touch up for dark hair. They set me up for 4pm, Carly Kane was my hair dresser and she was lazy and told me she can only do partial highlights today and she said the receptionist doesn't know how to book an appointment, even tho I'd explained what I need to book an appointment for!!!! They did truly waste my time and I Do not recommend this place to anybody! Please don't go there!

Came in for a cut & blow dry this morning after reading some awesome Yelp reviews. The salon was absolutely wonderful, and Natalie took such great care of me. She massages your scalp while she's washing your hair, and that was probably my favorite part of the entire process! Natalie gave me beautiful, long layers, and I will definitely be coming back!

My experience has been similar to one a few reviews down. I've been to high end salons and this is what makes the best stand out from the rest, how they handle it when things don't go right. Right now I feel like I'm just a number to bring in revenue, and no business can sustain itself with that methodology. It's ignorant and unprofessional to think that you (the business) are always right and the customer is wrong. Not to mention bad for business. And the owner (new owner I believe?) is rude, inexperienced and has no idea how to run a business where you should treat even the most difficult situations with respect and patience. This is amateur night with this new owner. For starts here are some things to improve on for a $100 haircut: 1) have sample/for use hair products on hand, so when the hairstylist says oh I'll put some on your hair, they don't then say sorry, we only have the ones 'for sale' 2) don't be so busy/overloaded and short-staffed that you don't get your hair 'professionally washed' by a washer but one person is doing it all 3) try to actually step in and fix things when something doesn't work out. don't let 'ego' take over and pass the buck. Not good customer service. 4) don't try to get away with low overhead, high profit, it's not sustainable. actually things are becoming a little clearer to me now since it's really difficult to figure out who the owners are here. There are probably several hands in the pot. they allowed one of their stylists to contact me repeatedly with no message and once with an unmarked number just to tell me they couldn't accommodate me, pass blame and make me feel bad, could have easily been done via voicemail. very shady behavior.

Unfortunately although we hit it perfect the 1st time not the 2nd time. When I tried to get an adjustment (which we all know is awkward) she was able to squeeze in 5-10 minutes, rushed. I'm used to having a relationship with my stylist where it's not so awkward if something's go wrong and they'll make the time no matter what, but the stylists are overly booked here. Erica works very hard, but my 2nd time just didn't work out. I've been told I have to pay in full again, which I'm wiling to do, but they still can't accommodate. I'm waiting to see if there's anything that can be done but I'm in an awkward position (right before my bday) and hoping they can find a way to accommodate me. Even agreed to go to a 2nd stylist there and they still couldn't do it. This review is to be updated but hoping for a better outcome and that I'm not just considered another "number".

I absolutely LOVE Salon 1085! I just randomly decided to request an appointment back in July. Carly is AWESOME! She has taken me darker and now we are currently going blonde! Her technique is seamless. I have done a total of 4 sessions here and I will not be switching. Thank you Carly and Salon 1085 for being so awesome!
