"Quality"...ha. That's a laugh. My room started leaking. Of course it was at night. Of course when I was going to bed. This has definitely happened in this room before. It's the only explanation for this lovely plastic plate. Given this, I'll stay anywhere else in Hermosa next time.

The hotel is old but in a reasonable location for easy access to Hermosa Beach. Convenient walk to Trader Joe's. But here are the terribles:Rooms: The room they gave us was spacious with 2 full-size beds (they advertised Queens, but my measuring tape showed smaller); Window curtain was badly torn with mold spots; AC slats had mold spots; Musty smell when first enter the room; Bathroom had no lock; Room phone didn't work due to broken jack; No luggage stand; Mold on window frames; Toilet flush weak & slow; WiFi super weak, unable to get signals unless stand at the doorway the whole time. Breakfast: Cold foods only -- Milk & cereal; sugary yogurts; instant packages oatmeal; small muffins; juice; oranges & bananas; and tasteless coffee.Pool: Very small, seemed like half the size of the typical ones in other small hotels. My family didn't use it. Parking: Outdoor and underground available, so that was convenient, but extra $10/night charge, not included in hotel rate. Staff: The guy (Miguel) who checked us in was friendly, approachable & helpful. He tried to switch us to another room due to the above room issues, but the newer room had even worst musty smell, so we decided to keep the original room. The lady (Marie) who was at the front desk the next morning was unfriendly with a hesitating & unwilling attitude when I asked her for a minor help. Her unapproachable expression seemed to scream how much she hated her job in customer service. The housekeeping ladies seem ok, just doing their job but at least approachable. So I went ahead and left some tips in the room for them, even though I didn't request for anything housekeeping.I will never book this hotel again when I return to visit the area.

Rooms: clean but really needs a remodel. place isn't that cheap but the walls are.staff: unwelcoming and just stand there when you walk in. breakfast: its a stretch and they they always close earlier than they say. At least leave the coffee outoff and on things didn't work. (tv, keurig, treadmill)did NOT like the $150 hold on the room, but I assume they've had trouble to ask for that.It is affordable comparatively so if just sleeping there then I will give it a 2.

Found this hotel on Google because a client of mine wanted a Luxury Room Set up with a jacuzzi. She didn't want to spend a lot of money so this place seemed perfect for her budget and location.Location of the hotel was nice! The hotel was clean, staff was nice, not very chatty but also didn't make me feel unwelcome. When I walked into the room it smelled clean, not very up to date and the trimming of the wall fell off when I brushed passed it! Yikes!I just snapped it back on lolThe only bad apart about this hotel was that the curtains wouldn't close all the way, so the privacy part was very concerning !The bathroom is not up to date at all.But if your looking for a 1 night type of thing then it's do able!Other than that my set up came out very nice!!If your looking for a room set up please let me know!

Customer service was their weakness. We requested a late checkout from the night front desk person and she said yes. In the morning, the new front desk person says there's no record of it and we have to leave early. Bad coordination on their part.Otherwise, this is a 2.5 star hotel in a very good location near the beach. It's nothing fancy, but will do the trick for basic needs. There is a complimentary breakfast.

This reasonably priced hotel offers a ton of amenities, with an onsite gym, complimentary breakfast, ice, vending machines, business center and even stocked bathroom amenities such as; shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and coffee. It's not the small travel size bathroom amenities. Check in went well; there is a $10 a day parking fee and $150 hold on your credit card FYIAs for the location and what's nearby, there is a trader Joes behind the hotel as well as McDonalds, a fit food store, Ensenada taco spot and only a 15 min walk to The Strand. We only booked this Hotel because it was near Barsha, a well-known Tunisian restaurant (only a 2 min drive) and didn't want to drive 60 miles back home. Stayed in room 114, its quite spacious with a small sitting area and desk. We have a slight view of the ocean; I am a very light sleeper so I would hear cars passing by late at night. if you want to avoid that just ask the front desk for a room on the backside not facing the street.Although the view in the gym was amazing, it was also a bit disappointing; the treadmill had an error message, the bike seat was not only torn and dirty but would not adjust, the air/heater wasn't working, no water in the dispenser and out of antibacterial wipes. Another reason we chose this hotel was the free breakfast but, the pictures online does not depict the truth, its continental only; sugary cereals, pre-packaged oatmeal, yogurt, ocean spray orange juice, muffins, not so good coffee, apple and oranges. I would suggest planning ahead and brining your own breakfast, if on a budget head to McDonalds and if you want something delish Ocean Diner is right behind the hotel less than 200ft. How likely would I come back to this particular location? 6/10 3.5

This is my go to spot whenever I need a little hot tub action. So it has its perks but this place could definitely stand some basic upgrades. I mean for the area you would expect a remodel by now. The hotel itself is clean for the most part. However many items in my suite were rusted. Living room curtain were stained and definitely outdated. I even had a few towels that should be used for rags since the dark spots didn't come out. The staff are always nice. Check in is usually pretty quick with reservations. As for the "ocean view" suite you could barely see the ocean in the day time. However the sunset was nice. The balcony area to view the ocean is big enough for 2 maybe 3 adults to stand on. If you're looking for luxury this definitely isn't it. If your looking for a basic clean hotel thats a few steps above a motel then this is it. Usually reasonable priced rates. Id probably stay again though so its not terrible. Its just nothing special neither.

I stayed here this month, September 2022. On the last night of our stay, we noticed mold on the ceiling. I have twice sent issue concern messages to the corporate contact (Choice Hotels) and have received no response. In the meanwhile, while waiting, here is a picture of the mold contamination. It was brought to the attention of the front desk. They did remit us the site parking fee from the bill.

Instead of providing 5 stars to a 3 star hotel, I will just place the equal comparison.Hotel room:Had the largest hotel room in the building. Much larger than all surrounding hotels. Definitely the selling point for me.Mostly clean bathroom door, bedroom door, and room entrance. Paint was dirty and chipped on each doorway. Windows had dirty and torn window treatments. Shower/tub had a clogged drain upon arrival. They did respond and fix when requested. TV and internet worked properly.Pool: Jacuzzi was locked several times during open hours and seemed to have jet problems and cleanliness issues when jets turned on.Breakfast:Included, but is a substitute take away option during pandemic. Upon request. Breakfast coffee and tea station available. Keurig coffee and machine in room.Parking: Covered and uncovered parking. Limited spaces and small space between cars. Ding/scratch prone - be cautious with personal and rental vehicles. Trash cans available through out parking.Housekeeping:Was required to request housekeeping a day in advance. No issues with them cleaning/restocking when requested.Location: Great for Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach locations. Near many food and grocery outlets. Near LAX, near beach, near freeway access.View:This room had a great view of the ocean and PCH. Staff: No issues. Seemed helpful when interacting with them.Facility:Could use cosmetic upgrades, elevator repairs, and jacuzzi improvement.Overall:Great bang for buck. Largest rooms. 2 queen, 1King, and sofa bed option only offered here. Free breakfast and coffee. Convenient location.

Convenient location. StarBucks and Trader Joe's less that 100 yards away. McDonald's across the street. The grab-n-go breakfast includes a microwave croissant with egg, sausage sandwich, granola bar, small muffin and a bottle of water per occupant. The front desk staff is friendly enough and I had no problems. True, this location is getting old, but our room was spacious and clean! The most beautiful sunsets could be seen from our room, but there is a downside.Located on the corner of Aviation Blvd and PCH, this is a major path for emergency vehicles. Ambulances and fire trucks pass several times a day and night.Knowing what I know, I'd probably stay here again.
