This place is full of history, from Jerry Lopez’s lighting bolt surfboard to Dennis Wilson’s of the beach boys 1962 Hermosa beach (replica) surfboard.

Hermosa Museum was such a joy to visit - the lovely lady (regretfully didn't get her name) who showed us around was so knowledgeable and passionate. We found out that the building used to be a high school and was used as the 'Carrie' 1976 movie filmset. Lots of surf history, retro posters and vintage photographs. Definitely recommend to anyone living in the area or passing through.

Cool old historic surfing pictures. Hermosa beach has a huge surf history and in addition to the walk of fame surfers, there are many current surfers in the water that are also very amazing in Hermosa Beach

Love the atmosphere and all the historical surf history. Really goes to show that Hermosa was the orginal surf capital of the world.

Lots of local surf culture history and local artifacts. Historical photo cards and excellent selection of vernacular history books re: So Cal & LA area and individual South Bay cities. Cool quiet place to spend a weekend afternoon or attend a History and Beer event. Back building of Hermosa Beach Community Center, ground floor.

These guys keep Hermosa in check by not letting it get too commercial. Great work.
