I enjoyed my short stay at this Hampton Inn and Suites Hermosa Beach. The hotel is in a great location that felt safe and walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. The outdoor rooftop patio was a nice feature to be able to lookout over the town all the way to the beach. My room was a standard that had 2 clean queen sized beds. The patio was nice, but no view other than the other patios on the same hallway and the parking lot out to the back. The hotel elevator was down when I arrived but I was made aware of this prior to my stay by the hotel manager. The elevator was back up and running on the same night I arrived. Standard hotel breakfast was available every morning but there are several coffee shops within walking distance too. One downside was the gym being pretty small and always smelling, I think more airflow in this room would be better or if it was in a larger area. I would definitely stay here again, mostly due to the location and safe area.

Our room was not as displayed on the website.
There are other rooms that we saw that were beautiful but somehow we chose the wrong one.
That being said, the staff was fantastic and the breakfast was usual Hampton inn Fair which was good.
Our biggest complaint was the lack of vacuuming or attention to detail in the hallways. They just seemed kind of dirty.
I was told by the staff that they're expecting to have all new carpeting put in a January so we'll have to check back then and we will.
Be advised that there were dogs in some of the rooms.
I have nothing against dogs except when they bark all night long.
Parking was tight to say the least. If you think you're going to visit and park your diesel dually ram truck you might think twice about this location.
And their definition of a short walk to the beach, I don't agree with.
I don't normally write questionable reviews but had I known what I know now I certainly would have chosen a different room.
I recommend you get something different than room 202. We did have a nice view of a wall outside our window.
I guess my biggest beef is that this didn't seem like a normal Hampton inn property in any of you that normally stay at Hampton and understand what I mean.
It just seemed very dated.
The lobby was nice.

Decent hotel, close to the beach and shops. Friendly staff and it has parking available.

This hotel was the worst .There’s only one elevator for the whole hotel which is really inconvenient . Walking through the stain filled hallways that reeks of cigarettes and bad lighting made me feel like I was in a horror film.
For almost $300 a night when I made it to my room I was immediately disappointed. I forgot to mention the parking fee $15 which is insane . This place is severely overpriced and there’s nothing special about it at all . They fool people with key words like “Ocean view “ . The only view is of a shopping center parking lot.

Nice and clean room and very helpful staff, we didn’t have a reservation but they had a room ready for us in 2 minutes.
Rooms: Clean rooms, a smart tv would be nice!
Nearby activities: Hermosa beach pier
Walkability: About 16 minutes walk from the beach

The overnight person was a little gruff at 1:00 am, but overall this hotel was fine for a 2 night business trip.

This was my second stay at the Hampton Inn, and once again, I had an exceptional experience. The flexibility with accommodations and the reasonable fees were truly impressive. The team consistently displayed a positive attitude and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. I highly recommend the Hampton Inn for anyone looking for outstanding service and a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!

Fantastic location, walking distance to the beach and shops and dining. If you choose a higher floor facing west, you can see the ocean. The mobile key access was not working during my stay. $15 parking is reasonable for this area. Daily breakfast is available. The balcony rooms are a really good size, non-carpeted floor, microwave, mini fridge and wet bar. If you select rooms 421, 422 or 423, your balcony space is shared with the sun deck. While it is separated by a railing, those using the sun deck can see into your room. The television has no channel guide. Room 227 is right next to the housekeepers area which may be a little loud during the morning. The bed is really comfy and I was surprisingly impressed with the feeling of the bath towels. Ultimately, this is a facility that I would stay in again.

The price was pretty good compared to places around it. They were either much more expensive or about the same for smaller rooms/less space. We got a king suite with a balcony. The room was decently big, and fairly nice. Not too many high tech amenities, but enough. Upon check in, everything was clean, and there was nothing left to be desired.
My only issue and this was a small issue, was when I arrived my digital check in did not work. I had to see the front desk attendant and she was not present for maybe 10 minutes. Desk was completely empty. Very minor thing, but it wasn’t the best start. After that, the check in was painless and quick. I’d stay here again as it is 5 minutes by car from Hermosa beach and all the action.

We had made a reservation before arriving, but after watching the desk attendant in action, we decided to stay elsewhere.
A disabled guest (in front of us) finished checking in and urgently needed a restroom, politely asked (begging at this point) for access to one in the lobby... but the heartless night clerk waved it off saying "restrooms are locked before my shift & I don't have the key"
Really, that's the best excuse you can muster for the extreme rudeness & lack of empathy... restrooms are unavailable, even to you for your entire shift? Maybe reevaluate since it violates ADA regulations and if actually true, employment laws as well.
Noteworthy details: Not ADA friendly

Hilton Gold Member here. Was really excited to reach Platinum soon, but this experience with this Hilton has really taken the wind out of me. The lady who answered the phone when I called about my odd hour reservation (June 7th night, rolling into June 8th early morning appx. 1:30am) was EXTREMELY rude, condescending and unwelcoming. Also, when we check in, we were supposed to get some sort of welcome kit with drinks and snacks, and all we got was a bottle of water- and when i asked “hey we arent going to get what your hotel advertises?” She just rudely said “we dont have that stuff right now” - Made me feel stupid for even getting to Gold and thinking it would make a difference. The parking here us also a nightmare. The keys constantly stop working. Even at Gold status they wont give you any type of late check out. To top it off they have the absolute worst snack cafe ive ever seen in a hotel. Absolute joke of a hotel especially being in LA.
This is the worst Hilton ive ever been to in my entire life. This is the type of Hilton that makes me not want to be part of Hilton anymore. THIS LOCATION SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN THE EVENT OF A DESPERATE EMERGENCY TYPE OF SITUATION!!! Stay far away!!!
