1625 Sycamore Ave, Hercules“We visited on 7/10/23, looking for a length of flexible spa hose to finish setting up a hot tub in our backyard. We had already gone to one Home Depot and had issues. We located the hose in question, but wanted to buy per-foot, rather than an entire roll of hose. This was something they had a SKU for, but they didn't have 8 feet of loose tubing for us. Eventually, we took the roll up to check out and explained the situation to Sylvia. Other places might insist that we buy the entire roll. Instead, she stuck with us, and found Jose, who could do the cutting we needed.Thank you to Sylvia and Jose for going above and beyond in order to make it work. It took a little while to get the right people, but they didn't abandon us, and they made sure to keep with it until we had resolution.”
“Repeat female customer here. I manage a no-spray, organic veggie/flower farm and rely on Hida's carbon steel (CS) tools for quality, edge retention, and beauty; I am ALWAYS impressed. I have multiple Hida CS shears and pruners and so long as they’re wiped clean after use, they do appear to resist rust. Well-made and long-lasting, the Chikamasa T-600 shears are my latest addition. Thank you Hida Tool!”
“The best customer service ever! Whenever I've needed help with a plumbing or other crisis, I've brought in a photo of the problem, was given clear instructions on how to repair the issue, the parts I needed... Jay, the owner, and other employees have always been respectful, helpful... never condescending as I'd experienced in other hardware stores which I thought was because I was female and seemingly stressed.”
“Best REAL Italian pizza ever! Been going here since 1956 through several owners.
STILL the BEST!
Even my NY girlfriend prefered it over NY pizza she'd had all her life. When she'd come to visit Napoli pizza was the 1st thing she wanted. Followed by a SAC'S hot dog.
Also nice that Audra recognizes me as I enter & knows my order!”
“It's like a "penny candy store" for tools!(I realize many of you have no idea what a "penny candy store" is, but I think you can figure out based upon the name.)I always come back with more than what I needed. The crew is always friendly and helpful, it's always a fun excursion.”
“Very kind folks. Excellent service, superb prices, was sent there by ace hardware to get nuts n bolts for my boat. Must be stainless steel. Got help and they attended to-us very respectfully.”
“I find myself going to Big Creek several times a week due to the magnitude of projects I have going on in both my business and personal lives. I pay a bit more there, but go there for the service, especially Dennis. He is very knowledgeable and if he doesn't know the answer, he finds it. I went with 4 stars due to their hours. For me, my projects don't stop because it's 5:00 or because it's Sunday.”
“We recently purchased an acrylic panel for our living room skylight. The staff at TAP Plastics provided excellent service on the selection of a cost effective material, In addition, the staff helped us size and adjust the large sheet dimensions to obtain a perfect fit. Awesome!”
“A real, old style hardware store, where the staff knows everything about their products! Huge selection of screws, nuts, bolts and other hardware, and all the basics for home and yard.”
“Wonderful neighborhood Ace. They have pretty much everything to save you in a pinch and also a lot of the day to day needs as well. Also their open hours are much better than the other local Ace hardware stores.”
“Great service again today. I have to say after working in several companies - and from walking into countless - if an employee is comfortable and happy they sometimes sing while working. In this store I heard a beautiful voice singing. I'm not asking for singing. Just an observation of how seemingly everything feels alright here.”
“I love their grape seed compost. And I could get it by the bag!!! Been coming here for years and it's really great for all it's soils. But the grape seed is seasonal. Highly recommend it”
“Really nice folks, great service and good prices. The guys in the yard really went out of their way to make our experience seamless and the counter staff were just as nice.”
“no water resistant approns for sale in any dept. I asked a couple employees and the pointed me twords the overalls and jackets area and said " what you see is what you get.over all my experience was good the staff was helpfull.. I mean it isn't anyone's fault that the store don't care a unusual item like dish washing appron s”
“Excellent service great people.little.pricey but good at first both guys in front counter seemed bothered by the. Questions I was asking as if km supposed to.know everything about the store and items they sale can see how if I'm was not a contractor this would not be the place I want to visit not supper nice even a little.rude at first richard came to help after the first guy look frustrated about my.questions all I wanted was to know about some colors for concrete most places have it by name but here that are sorted by number so I didn't know this Richard took more time.to.explain to me the difference and prices and such ended up spending over 300 dollars in tools and stuff... again not very friendly but ok place to buy I saw some regulars came in and the guy was kicking around with them and stuff I think he just doesn't like to.deal with people that has questions which sucks because that's why you should go to a place that specializes in stuff like this”
“The sweetest little hardware store in all the world. Great staff, very eager to help at this bedrock of the Orinda community. The store is small but the selection is great. Please shop here instead of Amazon.”
“If you need advice on your project, these folks (thanks, Dan!) will help you out.Excellent service, even on busy days: I just went in on a busy Saturday at noon, and I only had to wait about 4 mins. after taking a ticket, and an employee walked over to help me.Other reviewers complain about the hours, but *it’s a small business* so of course they don’t have Home Depot hours.Almost every single experience here over the years has been stellar, which is about the best you can expect from anywhere.”

2001 Solano Ave, Vallejo“Harbor Freight has come a long way from bargain-basement tools to quality tools at reasonable prices. They sell toolboxes that excel at a great price. Their torx sockets are high quality and don't distort with higher torque. I could go on... This store is a gem. They have great customer assistance, and the lines are never that bad, unlike other HF stores. The manager actually works the floor and exudes knowledge about the inventory. Employees share the attributes.”
“Over ten years ago, I filled my CO2 tank for $12. I remember but going up to $18. Today, it was $71. I don't know if this is because Atlas is no longer an independent, local business, but OUCH.”
“I came back and you can see the difference one year makes. I wanted to buy an Allen wrench set. They were locked up in a cabinet. Therefore, you need to get an employee to open it up. When I was wanting to pay for it, you need to get in a long line for the cashiers to get to you next. Things are changing to control theft and all!
The Home Depot is a great place to buy home improvement items. We found screw tops for our stained glass lamps. Shock treatment for the pool. It's so green. They have good quality items, such as, tools, electrical and pumping home construction, and so much more. A great garden department, too! Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Well worth going to!”
“Went there on a rainy windy night to pick up a bath tub half an hour before the store was closing. Super grateful for the security guard, Columbus, who went above and beyond his job duties to help us put the tub into the truck. He was so kind and thoughtful to tell me to stay under the covering so that I did not get wet in the rain. Nicest security I’ve ever encountered at Vallejo. Five star rating on his excellent customer service. ??”
“I love their garden center...
A lot more pleasant to shop at than the orange place. Lol
And we don't tend to worry about our cars being parked in their lot.
The only thing I don't like is the self check out.
Fact is it takes longer to check ourselves out and there's still a employee who helps and watches over everyone, when the employee could have taken care of everyone much faster as a cashier. I also believe that at some point these businesses who are doing self checkout are going to find more of a loss than the usuals and a waste and loss installing and paying for all the self checkout machines. I guess we'll see.”
“Such friendly helpful people work here.i came for plant cages I will say I found them at grocery outlet much cheaper buing bags of planting soil it was good other things tho they seem over priced”

401 Columbus Pkwy, Vallejo“I was happy that they had my favorite ZEP product in stock however the light bulb we went to buy weren't in stock. I did score some Arm & Hammer baking soda for $1/box. Self-checkout was interesting but a good trip to the store.”
“The sweet lady with the glasses is always super helpful and kind. I was buying fabric there last week and the computer was having issues so it took some time to get me rung up. She discounted my items and if it wasn't for her customer service I would have not returned to shop there”
“My word! Where would we be without our best DIY partner, Home Depot? Life is so much easier with their help. All I can say is thank you, Home Depot. They have all you need!”
