Way too expensive cost for the snack bar items. Lady employee couldn't understand English hardly. Took about 20 minutes to get our order understood by her. I wanted to give up after 10 minutes but my friend was content to keep trying to have our order understood so I stayed and kept continuing to make the order . Exhausting. The prices the vendors wanted in the perhaps dozen booths we inquired about prices at were as high as Target, Safeway, and other full price locations. Because we don't speak much Spanish and also vendors didn't speak much English, there wasn't the ability to discuss items and prices. Many items were in plain cellophane bags with no names on them. Somethings we recognized, other things we didnt. Even most young adults helping at the booths either didn't speak English, didn't know what to say, and for whatever reason were unresponsive to questions such as "What is this?", " Do you have a smaller package?", "Do you have any other nuts?" Do you have any guavas?" It wasn't enjoyable to connect with the majority of vendors there. It was a struggle for vendors and me and my friend as well. Several non food items were obviously poor quality but had high prices. Did the vendors with such low quality items really think shoppers were so d*** as to consider paying much more than what the items were probably worth and much more than what they were bought for? No way. There was better value to be had at stores selling new items for $1.25, often cheaper prices than what some of the novelty items at the flea market booths were being asked for. And then at the stores, selling new, buyer can return if not wanted, possibly buy in a package, maybe have more color and style choices, etc. Made me wonder if the flea market vendors realize that the goal of selling at a flea market is to offer items at deep discounts, unload booth inventory, communicate well and make quick sales. Little of that was apparent that day at the SanJose Flea Market. Seems the points were missed by the sellers.

There was a hole on the wall and a leak so there was a bucket in the middle of the floor. The store had a weird smell and the quality of healthy items was not good.
