Transmission Repair in Hayward, CA

“So it’s been exactly 1 week since I got my car back from the shop ?I had an electrical issue. (Wires)When I would press the start button to turn off my car, the engine wouldn’t shut off right away. It would take a few minutes. It would shake until it would force itself off… then my headlight would turn itself ON. (Yes, the lights were OFF) So b/c there was no other way for me to turn off, a button that was already off.. it would kill my battery… which would make me jump my car every other day when it wouldn’t turn off properly.Anyway… I had already made an appointment at a Ford dealership in San Leandro for an oil change.. then I included the issue above. I had my car there for a lil over a week, I spoke with him the weekend after drop off (monday), and the day of pick up (the next Monday). I couldn’t get a hold of him throughout the time my car was getting looked at.I called & spoke w/a few other ppl then I eventually spoke w/manager who told me he would get the guy assigned to me to reach out, which he never did. When I picked up the car, they said they couldn’t find anything.A day after, the car started doing the same thing, I dropped my car off after hours (b/c of work)Spoke to someone new, asked for someone different for the lack of communication, the new guy didn’t like that so much, so I took my car to the Ford dealership in Fremont,They ran another diagnostic (2), they too said they could not find anything, but that my oil was over filled & that I needed another one (drain out and put new), something about a lid under the hood needed fixing which would cost $1800, and I have bad tires in the front. They too had issues with communication, but it was kinda better then San Leandro..+ it was there a lil over a week b/c I had to wait 3 days for someone to run a diagnostic ?I honestly felt discouraged, and I didn’t know who to trust.Then I went ahead and took it to Managal Motors, because I remember having a good experience with my rotors getting replaced a few years ago.I called in, I dropped my car off the day of. I was told that they were going to run another diagnostic (3) and that it would take some time to find out the issue of the car. They called for questions about it before working on it, plus called in again to let me know what they were doing, and what he thought the issue might be, and then I got a text of a receipt & a call it was ready. I dropped it off before their shopped closed on a Tuesday, and got the car back on Monday (they had it fixed less then a week!)I haven’t had any issues with the engine turning off, or no spooky lights turning on by itself since ☺️☺️☺️☺️ & I was also told about my bad ties in front. (Which I did know about, I had my back tires changed, and I was working towards the front… anyway) I felt like they actually took the time out to find out what was wrong w/ my car, & kept in communication, and my car wasn’t even with them for a whole week.I’m not sorry for the long review, I’ve been really frustrated with the lost of money,time and lack of communication and trust. I’m so thankful that my car is back up n running.? THANK YOU MANGALE MOTORS!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!Ps. I had some burnt wires (from a car accident) that needed to be replaced, and the total cost was $537.69Which includes a diagnostic, parts, & labor.”

“I came in originally to have my transmission fixed (my car could not go in reverse). Mike made a great impression from the beginning. He was courteous, friendly, and very helpful. In addition to fixing a stripped gear he also noticed a bad bearing and replaced that as well. The price was also reasonable. In addition to that he fixed a leaky oil pan and did other general servicing on my car. When I had a problem getting the car smogged due to no power in my OBD 2 port; Mike went above and beyond to help me resolve the problem. “So I used to go the Lim Express which is right next to Pacific Lee Auto, so I knew of them. Well my car broke down this past Friday (day after Thanksgiving‍) and I had my AAA tow my car to Lim's. Called with no answer, but I noticed the Lim sign was gone. Didn't think about it so I left my car there in front of Pacific's with a note. Sunday evening I checked Google and found that Lims was PERMINENTLY CLOSED!!!! So I called and left a message for Pacific Lee. Monday morning, Mike of Pacific Lee Auto called me and confirmed that my regular mechanic closed down. And of course I asked if he could service my car and he said he would be happy to. My car was completely fixed with new, high quality parts, later that day for a very fair price.Since I wasn't able to pick up my car because I had to be in SF for surgery the next morning, I was able to pay him by Zelle. And he drove my car to my house (I live very close to the shop) and dropped it off so that it didn't have to stay there. GREAT attitude, knowledgeable and kind, honest.I'm a satisfied customer. And Mike is now my new mechanic!!!!!”

I still live in Oakland and yet I drive to Hayward because I trust Romeo and his team more than any other mechanic I've ever had. They are extremely reliable, reasonable, upfront, friendly, and make you feel like you are getting good value for your money. They never try to push things on you that you might not need. They are very accommodating in terms of labor costs and always try to get you the cheapest price possible. The other thing is how fast they do the work. Rarely have I had to leave my car longer than a day. I will continue to use Romeo and North American Motors to take care of whatever car I have and I recommend that if anybody needs a really good mechanic, this is the place to go!”

“AAA was responsive, timely and easy to work with when I asked them to fix my bumper and hood. Every text I sent we responded to within 5 minutes, even after hours. I dropped off on a Wednesday and they committed to having it done by Friday. Although I was skeptical that they'd get it done, I dropped it off and by 3 on Friday the car was ready. They set up a rental car for me and arranged for it to be returned at their shop. I'm glad I took a chance on this small mom and pop business and that it survived the pandemic. It's not the flashiest shop, but they were nice, helpful, and did good work. I hope I don't have need any other repairs but I'll trust them to get it taken care of”

“Came here on the recommendation of a friend when my 1991 Civic Honda was stalling out repeatedly and my regular mechanic could not find the problem. My friend assured me that MA Auto shop has great mechanic expertise, and are thorough in diagnosing and fixing a problem. MA Auto shop found the source of the issue, and after a quick fix, my car was back on the road. I accidentally overpaid the bill, and MA Auto shop was also quick to catch my error and return the extra money. Great service.”

“I've been taking my 2017 Honda Civic here for almost 4 years now, and besides the routine oil changes and tune-ups, my car has never had any other major issues. I see reviews mention the price, but as someone who has lived in the area her whole life and has done extensive research around the Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro area, these prices are fair and if I'm trusting my car (something I rely my life on!) with someone, it's imperative that these are people that can provide quality service. More importantly, I've had more than satisfactory experiences here. I was first recommended this shop by a family friend who has been a customer here for years, and I was skeptical at first since I was used to getting my oil changes at Pep Boys. However, this was during Covid, so I really wanted to support more small businesses in my local area. Usually I'm wary of mechanics scamming me and telling me there's something wrong with my car when there isn't, especially as a young woman, but nothing of that sort has ever happened here. In addition, there was a time where I was not able to get off work early in time to pick up my car, but Ken was extremely accommodating and even though the whole shop was closed, I found him waiting for me to pick up my car before he went home for the day. I love supporting family-owned businesses, and Ken and Wendy are some of the sweetest and sincere people I've had the pleasure of trusting my car with. They are honest and efficient, which is really all I can expect from a mechanic. If you want quality service and love supporting small local businesses, definitely make an appointment here!”

“I have worked with Adelberto before he worked at this shop.Recently my son's said the AC wasn't working and then said the bearings were going bad. I brought the car in for analysis and a lesser mechanic could have usually charged me a thousand bucks and just done the repairs.
