Guy had car for sale on CL for $13k with very few miles on it, but then said he just put it on lot at Hayward Auto Center. So next day we went there. Salesman wanted $16k for it, we said no, we'll take it for what was offered on CL. They agreed, especially when we said we'd pay cash. Car was on lot for such a short time they had not smogged it, but we had driven a ways so we said we would do the check and they said they would reimburse us. Several calls later they did send a check for $50 of the $58.25 they should have sent. Bigger issue is that they do not know the history of the cars. I foolishly believed the carfax (said all was clean but had been serviced once at a dealer a few months ago), but if you read the fine print, carfax just knows what is reported to dmv or insurance. The car I bought had been to a dealer but then had refused all service - so previous owner must have had the oil pan, exhaust, gas tank, bumper, side panel damage fixed by someplace that did not report a thing. A month after owning it, check engine light came on and ran rough. My local dealership found the history and said car needed huge amount of work. Ended up trading it in for a large loss and just bought a new car.

I did buy a car from this place, and I'm sorry that I did. The car itself was actually in good shape for the most part. That being said, I did have to make a minor repair to the ball joint, and do the alignment, something I'm sure they were aware of. Also, based on the wiring for the stereo and alarm, I think they work on their own cars...poorly. I got lucky with the car not being a lemon, but beware, as they will gouge you for a lot more than the car is worth, more than most dealerships do. Their finance company charges outrageous interest rates, so I had to pay the loan off prematurely. There is also the issue that when I did pay it off, they didn't submit the paperwork to the DMV like they should have. I somewhat expected this because I knew it was a crappy car lot to begin with. They have however vastly exceeded my expectations, they win first prize for worst car lot in the bay area. I would steer clear of this place for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a cover business for illegal activity, considering the other glowing reviews.
