I have been entrusting my taxes to Pennington Han ( Hayward office) for many years, and he consistently demonstrates knowledge and care. He provides excellent guidance and patiently answers all my questions. I truly recommend Mr. Han; his dedication and commitment to excellence are truly commendable!

Quite unimpressed by the virtual tax filing service. I informed the person up front that I was 9 time zones away (that is why I wanted virtual filing); I was called repeatedly in the middle of the night my time. They insisted on calling; I had to use the messaging system to ensure that our exchanges were actually documented somewhere. The person I was matched with did not understand several aspects of tax law, and I had to correct them multiple times (I am no expert, but it didn't take much to know more than them). They also did not understand my tax status, and filled out incorrect forms the first time through (without asking for clarification). There was no attempt to ask about any additional items for deductions or other claims. I remain uncertain that my returns are correct, but at least they are on the hook at this point if they are wrong. The H&R system itself was... fine. But it still leaves significant features to be desired (send a message and it does not appear in the history until you return to the page, for example; there is no 'draft' functionality). All in all: I will not be back, and will not be recommending this to anyone.

Ask for Mr. Pennington Han! He is awesome! Explains everything in such a way that I can easily understand what I owe and why and if I get a refund! Also gave us great advice for the next year! See you next year!

Came here last year to get taxes done and was filing for more than one year. Was assigned to Marietta Alva and the experience was not great. Ive never filed with H&R Block before and will probably never use it again. Customer service was lackluster, but I can understand it’s the not the most exciting place to be.The reason for the one star is because the tax advisor had someone else come for their appointment and wasn’t quite done with me yet. I reassured her that it’s okay and I was willing to wait to get it done since I actually set a whole day aside to do so. I even offered to maybe do the rest over the phone or set up another appointment for the second one regardless if it cost me more.Marietta ended up getting overwhelmed and finished the one year and proceeded to tell me that I could file it on my own and how easy it is. I know that I can file the taxes on my own, but the whole point of your services is for me to pay for the convenience of your tax ‘experts’. I paid this place almost $200 to give minimal effort and tell me that I could do it on my own. Anyways, tax season is here again and I’m still mad about it. Just go somewhere else.

Run far way from this h&r block. I literally had to contact the tax preparer more then 3 times as my taxes were never submitted. Jose Alvarez is horrible never contacted me to inform me or even communicate that, I had to do my own research to find out why the taxes were not showing on my account. He still has not reached out to apologize or even give an explanation as to what happened. Thee worst H&R Block experience!

H&R Block has been reliable, professional, and accurate for all my tax years. I recommend them for anyone who doesn't want to bother with figuring out the complexity of deductions, donations, and income.

H and R block is the worst place to do taxes ever. They just throw me around like a potato, because they can't help me fix the California Ereject error using their software. I went to them THREE-FOUR times, transferred me to different people and THEY STILL HAVEN'T GOT MY CALIFORNIA RETURN FILED! WHY ARE YOU PUTTING ME THROUGH THIS STRESS! I'M NEVER FILING WITH THEM AGAIN!
