I had my first today to take my cat in for wellness exam and to shave matted hair. Unfortunately my fur-baby is not friendly when being handled and had to be sedated. The staff from the front office and back were amazing with her. They very polite and took time to get let my car get used to them. I'm very happy with how they treated her and her cut!

Great caring people. Vets and techs get to really know your dog. My 14 and 12.5 old pups are still going strong thanks to the vast knowledge and willingness to try different treatments.

Dr. McKinney saw my French bulldog for emergency surgery on Friday, and she was terrific. Not only did she care about our situation but she also kept us informed every step of the way. This place is super clean and the staff is wonderful!

We are very pleased with the care and service our dog received at Gentle Care Veterinary Hospital. First of all I called a dozen Veterinarians and only two of them would even give me an idea of the cost of spaying my dog. All the others stated that they need to examine the dog before they could give any estimate on price. Its an 8lb, 5 month old female Boston Terrier, I really dont understand why they cannot provide an estimate on how much the surgery is. Anyways Gentle Care gave me a very accurate estimate and took her in within 4 days for the surgery at an affordable cost. The staff took great care of her and the next day when my dog was having some stomach issues, likely from the medication, the doctor took time to speak with me and give advice on how to handle the stomach issues. Great hospital, Great care, I will return whenever I need service for any of my pets.

This Veterinarian is the best one I’ve ever been to. You can go in the room with your animals. The doctor does a lot of stuff with you in the room which I appreciate they do not rip you off. They are honest and caring, which is very important.

New to the neighborhood, our Bernedoodle Bowie came to get updated shots. Beautiful place w individual exam rooms. Doctor and staff were great. Let me tell you why I can't give this place 5 stars. It took almost a month for them to see new patients. I understand there are a lot of pets out there but your business is a service oriented establishment to take care of pets why can't you be accommodating. After we were patients already I thought it would be easy to get an appointment when our dog had an ear infection. No they were full and could not see him and referred us to emergency hospitals which we all know is expensive. Why can't you take 10min to see our dog and prescribe him medicine. The vet we have in San Bruno never fails to see us even for minor issues and she is only 1 vet for the whole place. Gentle agreed we could drop of Bowie but they weren't sure what time they could see him. So they would cage him until vet could see him. Bowie doesn't do well in crates. At least for long periods of time. I did not agree to this. For parents who are so busy time is of the essence we need to know when we can come get our pets. This is just ridiculous! I wish they could improve service! Not only a nice looking hospital makes for a good vet! Service and support should be top notch! Guess where we ended up going, an hour away to our old vet in San Bruno Masson vet, who could see us right away.

Let me say I was a vet tech awhile ago so I am pretty in tune to pet hospital protocol and operations. We started maybe a year or 2 ago when my vet in Pacifica closed down. The doctors are hit or miss, and we seemed to like Dr. Yoon out of the handful we had seen. The administrative staff honestly seemed so confused a majority of the time. Whenever we called or scheduled appointments, there was always a mixup of some sort regarding phone numbers (call THIS number for this dog and call THIS number for these dogs), and one time they actually sent me someone ELSE'S medical records for their pet (does HIPAA apply here?), mixed with whatever other typos they would send me in emails. They seem to be a good vet for basic things such as vaccines and annual exams. No problem there. Things got a little more complicated once our King Shepherd started acting.. not right. Symptoms: constant licking in the groin area so we thought it was an infection. He licked it so much the area was red and inflamed and yeasty. We brought him in and Dr. Vaynberg said he needed a real good bath, fair, as my partner had never really given him a good bath and let him dry properly. We did that but the licking persisted, accompanied with unusual lack of control of urination in the house. We ran a handful of tests but what kind of irked us was there was an extremely sensitive urine test they wanted to run, and they told us they grabbed a sample from the FLOOR. Of course my initial thought was.. well isn't that a not-sterile sample to send into the lab? And lo and behold, they called us a few days later asking us to bring in a sample as the one they grabbed bore inconclusive results. So now we had to take time out of our already busy schedules to try to do this. We found out later through a specialist that our dog had prostate cancer. We wished there wasn't even a lag between the multiple urine tests at Gentle Care because our dog's cancer was extremely aggressive so we could have figured out his diagnosis sooner rather than later. But because they grabbed a bad urine sample it pushed us finding out about our dog's diagnosis. There also seems to be a lack of urgency in general regarding scheduling appointments, or maybe there's not enough doctors but if something is wrong with your dog you'll probably have to go to an ER or wait a week or so to have your pet seen and maybe by then it'll be too late. Next case -- my other dog has chronic allergies, and upset stomach. We went in to see Dr. Yoon as he seems to be the most competent vet. He advised to just keep an eye on him and maybe run a blood test, which we did, and the results turned out unremarkable. I remember calling in for a prescription for a handful of medications to help my dog feel better and the receptionist said "Dr. Yoon doesn't usually like to write prescriptions." ?????? And when I had another prescription approved I asked if they can call it into Costco and the receptionist told us they don't call into Costco. ?????? Well then that's what I need the WRITTEN prescription for?? The more experiences I have with this pet hospital the more I see that they could be more money-hungry rather than actually caring for your pet. I couldn't help but think they wanted me to buy the prescriptions at their hospital. There also have been a few occasions where they'll come in with an estimate on a laptop and they'd mention we're going to do this, this, this, and this, is that okay? And I remember on those occasions I had to actually ask them okay can you please show me the cost breakdown instead of me just verbally OK'ing this and getting slapped with the costs later? For both our dogs that we first brought into Gentle Care, they have moved to BAVS as they had both been diagnosed with cancer. It is a specialty hospital but I often wish they could do GP because the bedside manner, efficient operations and communication, and knowledgeable techs and doctors put us at peace with our dogs and their illnesses. We tried to giv

My experiences with the staff at Gentle Care have always been pleasant. For every appointment, they have taken the time to review with me the recommended (sometimes required) services/procedures and detail the cost of each item. As a fur mom without any base knowledge of pricing for these medical costs and knowing that vet visits are always pricey, I've been satisfied with Gentle Care as my main goal has always been to ensure my furry family members maintain their health. Recently, my 14-year-old cat reached the end of the road, and I had to make the heart-wrenching decision to let him cross the rainbow bridge. As many fur parents will understand, the struggle to determine if you're making the call too early or too late is incredibly difficult and painful. But that day, I knew time was running out, and I called the Gentle Care staff to plead for any open slots. They were sympathetic to my situation and offered to call and confirm their appointments in the hopes of finding any cancellations. Miraculously, an afternoon slot became available. Saying goodbye is never easy and when the time came for me to check in for the appointment, the staff was incredibly kind and placed me and my cat, Kona, in the room towards the back to allow for some privacy. Initially, Dr. Vaynberg suggested possible options to heal him, but once the test results came back, Kona's fate was sealed, and the kind thing to do was to let him go.Dr. Vaynberg and the staff made sure I finalized all the arrangements before Kona's last breath, and after kissing Kona on his head for the last time, I was able to stagger out to my car without seeing anyone, and I am grateful for that. I know everyone has had a different experience with Gentle Care, and for me, they have offered excellent service from the start to the end. I want to thank Dr. Vaynberg for being so kind and understanding during that terribly difficult time and for allowing me the time to properly say goodbye to the best bitey love kitty. Thank you to the staff at Gentle Care for doing what you do.

My friend's dog was spayed here, and aside from a bait and switch upcharge that they pulled after the surgery regarding the e-collar, their actual services were fine. However, when my car broke down on Grand Street in front of the clinic, I was harassed by two different employees (Betty and the manager Faylita) who ignored me when I told them that my car would not start, accused me of intentionally blocking their lot (which I wasn't), threatened to have me towed at my own cost, and harassed me for roughly an hour. Their lack of customer service is NOT worth seeking their services.

Very professional and caring. Generally speaking , Peah doesn't like visits to the vet or groomer. On the other hand, she really likes people and appears to particularly prefer men to women... except for me, of course. But when the Doc walked in, she went right to him and showed all her signs of wanting to get to know him. A good sign that he, the doc, was safe and friendly to be with. Animals can tell. The rest of the staff was great too. Glad I found thisVet service.
