I adopted my first Pet (Harper the cat) since April 5 2023, from an overcrowded shelter (yes she almost got euthanized). After more than a year, I finally brought her to do some checkup and vaccinations, and my friend recommended Alta Vista Veterinary Clinic. My whole experience in this place has been great. They let me know in advance what need to be done, how much it cost, why it needs to be done, etc. After the treatment, my cat looks and acts even better than before, and it also gives me a great peace of mind that my pet's health is in good hands.
I will come back again (at least once a year for a checkup, or anytime when my little Harper needs medical assistance).
Overall, this is a 5/5 experience.

Dr. Buddy is probably the best out there she understands your situation and can find out the best way to help your pet! Louie has been a regular since he was born and will be bringing all my pets here!

Well I’m a picky and straight forward person. Dr. Budde is the same. I highly recommend her if you are a picky pet owner. How me and my daughter loved the exam my cat and dog received.

Number one thing I love about going here is that Dr. Budde and her staff are very CLEAR on medical procedures and routine regarding our pets. Questions and concerns are always answered and when your pet is your literal child, you need this type of care. Dr. Budde is great. I always leave the vet with peace of mind, knowing my pet is being well taken care of. I’ve taken all 4 cats of mine here .

I can’t say enough about this clinic. I have a a large dog(cane corso) and the staff/vet have loved on him since he was a little puppy. Even with the long waits with most vets; the doc will get you in on emergencies. The staff and vet are amazing with explaining things to the pet parent. This is the place to be if your pet means the world to you!!!

Dr. Budde and her entire staff are the best in the Bay! We tried many other vets prior to going to Dr. Budde and were saddened to see how scared most vets were of pitbulls. When we came to Dr. Budde's office, everyone showed our dog so much love and care. That was in 2001 and we never left Dr. Budde's side. She and her staff are like family to us now. We are on our 5th dog under their care and I kid you not, they are always super excited whenever I say "let's go to Dr. Budde house". My babies are everything to me and I am truly grateful to everyone at Alta Vista for everything they do for my babies!

We decided to interview a new vet for our dog and decided to give Alta Vista a shot despite being across the bay as they came highly recommended by one of our friends. Making an appointment was easy enough and the staff here seemed helpful but the issue I had was with the vet herself. I was looking for a collaborative practice where we could lay out options and decide the right approach and path for our dog. This practice was clearly her way or the highway. She in so many words projected that we did not care about our dog as much as she does (ridiculous right?), and she, herself was the saint and savior to all animals. Then she went way out of line and inquired to where we lived and what type of property we resided on. She found out that we came from across the bay and for whatever reason needed to explain to me that her property was bigger and larger, and that people on my side of the bay needed her services but it was only her and there was only so many animals she could treat. Red flags everywhere. They followed up with an invoice that addressed NOTHING we discussed. Turns out our dog is fine, this vet ruined our day, and we had nothing to worry about. Went in for a $200 checkup and was proposed with a $1,318.69 proposal that did not address the initial issue I wanted to resolve. If you're considering a vet, you and your pet deserve better. Go ANYWHERE else.

I cannot express how thankful I am to have found this place. I've been to 4+ different vets in the past 7 years. No one was able to help me with my dog and give me a diagnosis, not to mention they all spent thousands of money on all of their tests. The moment I brought Chewy (my dog) to Dr. Buddy she diagnosed him within minutes with out any expensive tests. She's so gifted with knowledge. She has changed Chewy's life forever and I am so grateful. He was completely bald, itchy, sick, and half dying. It's been about a year since I took him into her and wow the difference. He's like a puppy with his hair fully back, he's no longer super itchy. She has single handily changed his and my life forever. All the staff is absolutely amazing, I now take my other dog and two cats there!! The price is way better than anywhere else I've ever been too.

Took my dog here because he stopped eating and did not have any appetite. Dr.Buddy did a little trick and prescribed some Pepto. He was fine after that. I saved a lot by not having him get x-ray. I recommend this place.

Hi everyone!!!! I was not asked to leave this review, nor does Dr. Budde and her staff know, I am leaving this review. I cannot even put together words, for how EXTRODINARY. Dr. Budde and Jen are at Alta Vista. My dog had a teeth cleaning yesterday and I am a pet mommy who worries to the extreme because I had a previous pet who had a lot of health issues, and went through traumatizing experiences with different veterinarians, who treated him badly or hurt him in a procedure. However, Jen gave me her personal phone number and texted me to reassure me that my dog will be okay, because she knew how afraid I was. To now have a dog who has no health issues and needed to be put under for a cleaning, really scared me. I APPERCIATE YOU SO MUCH JEN FOR COMFORTING ME WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST. THANK YOU FOR GOING OUTSIDE YOUR JOB SCOPE TO MAKE SURE ME AND MY FUR BABY WERE OKAY!!! DR. BUDDE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CRAZY ASS BLUNTNESS AND REALNESS. I have brought my dogs to Alta Vista for the past 15 years. They received excellent care from Dr. Budde. Dr. Budde sometimes can be very blunt, like when she told me if I didn't want to keep the cone on my blind dog who had eye ulcers (because she didn't like it), it was okay she could enucleate her eyes. she was being sarcastic but I got the point and put the cone on her. Not everyone likes this approach to care, but my dogs love her. My older dog had multiple health problems and without Dr. Budde she would not have survived as long as she did. I have found her office staff to be helpful and caring as well. In terms of pricing, she offers a lot of options which you can refuse and honestly I have gone to other vets whose prices are the same if not higher.
