“I want to sincerely thank the team at Banfield Pet Hospital for the care and attention they give to my senior furbaby, Jaxon. As he’s entered his golden years with some health challenges, it’s meant the world knowing he’s in the hands of people who genuinely look out for him.

Special shoutout to Dr. Anderson — Jaxon absolutely loves her, and I do too! She’s professional, compassionate, and always takes the time to explain things thoroughly. You can tell she genuinely cares.

Also, a huge thank you to Francesca, one of the amazing vet techs. She’s consistently kind, patient, and accommodating. I’ll never forget the time I was rushing to pick up Jaxon’s heart medication and was worried I wouldn’t make it before closing — she reassured me and stayed on it, and I got there just in time thanks to her calm and helpful attitude.

While I’ve noticed the front desk staff can sometimes come off a bit short, I understand that it’s a fast-paced environment and some days are harder than others. Regardless, the care and commitment behind the scenes truly shines, and that’s what matters most to me.

“Dr Roskopf is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. I brought my atelopus barbotini in last week, and he gave me antibiotics to put them on because we are unsure if the pet shop lied about them being wild caught or not. I appreciate everything him and his team did for me and my toads. I only give four stars because the appt was about a half hour late, and we arrived 15 min early. Like with humans, things happen with animals, and if my pet needed an extra half hour of care, I would hope the next patient would be compassionate- this doesn’t seem like a place that plans poorly. You can’t go inside, which bothers me and is why I give four stars, because I prefer to be with my animals when I take them anywhere. Frogs and toads are easily stressed, new environments being the thing that stresses them out most, people often strongly recommend against taking them to the vet, but Nick Stacy aka indicator species recommended I go given the circumstances- (he is the first hobbiest to successfully breed atelopus outside a lab) so the extra time in the deli cup probably wasn’t great. Their prices are very reasonable, but having to sit in my car in an uncovered parking space was a bit difficult, and I wasn’t able to turn off my car or the a/c would turn off, which wasted a lot of gas…

Unfortunately the toad passed away a few days later, and Dr. Roskopf called me back right away and suggested I get an necropsy done asap, in case it can help with the one toad I do still have.

Speaking of gas, bless the people that work at the auto repair next door ? the screaming bird sounds can’t be easy to work next door to lol (not a critique of the vet, just to end things on a light note)

Ps- please do not buy animals from pet stores, go to reputable breeders directly. There are so many people that will do anything to make a sale, coming across this Doctor was a nice reminder there are good humans out there that actually care.”

“Everyone at Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital, especially the Pet Keepers are really friendly, helpful, understanding and patient. We have a 19 year old cat who is not socialized and they always welcome her and treat her.”

“What a wonderful vet! My little dog was having a respiratory problem and itching and licking. Dr. Antoun saw him after a full day of patients and really examined and took care of my little guy. Then called and spent time going over everything with me. Such a great office! Love them so much! Definitely recommend them!♥️”

“I think I have just found my new vet!! Dr. Norby is wonderful!! She sat on the floor with my dog the entire exam! My poor baby is almost 15 yrs old and has arthritis in her back. She did the most thorough exam I think I've ever had. She offered me multiple options to help with some of the concerns I had. She even prioritized things for me and wasn't pushy about doing all of it now knowing that I don't have a lot of money. “Nothing could ever prepare me for the day I lost my soul pet. Hearts & Halos supported us immediately because of how quickly my baby’s health declined. “Dr. Abigail Elliot and the Country Hills team are the best! Not only do they lovingly care for my own indoor cats, they recently helped us with an outdoor stray cat that we had unofficially adopted.

Curly Boy showed up on our doorstep night after night for months. He had no collar, and it seemed as though he was abandoned. For over a year, we fed him and even housed him in our heated front porch cathouse. He would spend all of his time in our yard and cuddling with us on our outdoor couch. We came to love him very much, as if he was our own.

One day came that we noticed he was injured and had a bad limp, so we made the decision to bring him inside in order to protect him from predators. We made an appointment with Dr. Elliot to have him examined later in the week. Meanwhile, he spent his days filled resting in comfort on our bed and watching TV with us. He adapted to indoor life well and he was living the life of Riley. Slowly, but surely getting better.

We brought him to Dr. Elliot and she carefully examined him, finding that he had improved since we had brought him inside. While we were there, we wanted to have him scanned for a microchip as well. He had seemed domesticated, we knew he was fixed, but all other signs led us to believe he had been abandoned. Sure enough, he had a chip!

As it turned out, he HAD been abandoned… although, not intentionally. His name was Kylo and his owners once lived on the next street over from us. He had gone missing two years prior, and sadly the owners had to move away 6 months after that. For us, that was around the time he started hanging around more often. Poor little guy was homeless, so he latched onto us tightly.

Anyway, Dr. Elliot spent a good amount of time examining Curly Boy a.k.a. Kylo, she offered medical advice, and helped us locate the long-lost owners. She even allowed us to wait past closing time to meet with the owners, and all of it was free of charge.

It’s very clear to us that Dr. Elliot cares deeply about animals. She is very professional and compassionate. I will always trust her with my fur babies. Thank you Dr. Elliot & Team!

P.S. As for the owners, they were shocked to discover that he was alive and well. He had belonged to a 12 year-old girl, who was devastated when he went missing. The girl is 14 now, and she cried tears of joy to have her Kylo back. It was a very happy ending for Kylo and his girl! ♥️”

“Beyond great. My vet for decades retired, leaving no one in her place. Tried to find new vet, and was hugely disappointed with other local vet. BUT joy of joys, was referred by friend to Redwood & Dr Suyehara. I cannot express my gratitude for this care and expertise. They are all fabulous --just as my friend predicted and finally I am getting necessary help for my aging dogs. I LOVE this whole practice and am grateful every day to have this guidance to address my dogs' conditions. When your dogs are healthy, anyone can help to verify all is fine. “Dr. A (Andrew Arriola) and the whole staff at Animal Hospital of South Bay is wonderful. I brought my dog, Sophie, a 7 year old maltese-shih tzu, here after leaving my previous vet, just for a routine checkup as well as to observe a cough she had developed. He diagnosed her that day with heart disease which was obviously a shock as she had been nothing but healthy according to our previous vet. He took X-rays and showed us everything and walked us through it all.

As a puppy, we were told by our previous vet that she had a heart murmur but to bring her in every 6 months for a check up so they could continue to keep an eye on it. We thought they were monitoring it but according to Dr. A, they were not. This was extremely jarring to hear but Dr. A was very reassuring that with proper medication (that we started immediately) and seeking a cardiologist, we could delay her heart failure. Throughout this whole process Dr. A understood our surprise, sadness, and frustrations and did an amazing job at educating and comforting me and my family.

After following the proper protocol and doing everything we could for Sophie to ensure she was comfortable, we unfortunately made the decision to euthanize and, when we did, Dr. A and his staff were extremely supportive. After her passing, we received a card signed by all the staff members which meant a lot. Although we lost Sophie, Dr. A was able to buy us invaluable time with her that we wouldn't have gotten had we never gone to him and stayed at our previous vet -- grateful doesn't even begin to cover it.”

“After having my two cats for a long time at a particular vet (not Center Sinai) I was beginning to experience issues where after having a visit or running tests I could never get a vet or anyone to walk through with me the details of lab results that were not normal or other physical situations the cats were experiencing. Additionally the prices for every service seemed to be going sky high. Every solution to an issue was some expensive test or screening that were the price of a good used car. A friend of mine suggested Center Sinai and I brought my two cats there for an introductory general checkup, rerun lab results, xray one cat's hip etc. The vet was incredibly informative and took the time to walk through everything with me. The xray showed some arthritis and a shot was given that has vastly improved my cat's pain level and quality of life. A non-general anesthesia teeth cleaning was recommended for one of the cats which I never knew existed (my former vet would only do the anesthesia one which among other things stresses the pet and cost thousands of dollars). One cats abnormal lab results from the former vet were reviewed and deemed not alarming (the former vet assistant told me the vet considered them alarming and said a sonogram costing thousands would need to be done) re-ran the lab and everything was normal. I am extremely happy to have found a caring, fair and informative vet for my cats and am relieved to be done with a vet I felt I could no longer trust.”
