There has been times when i had a emergency flat tire on my way to work and the worker understood the situation and he quickly fixed the bike.

I took my daughter's bike. That had a flat, he fix the tire ,Charge me a lot to fix it and a few days later I put air and pop on me. I took my bike again to a different shop. And they told me that someone put a bigger inner tube.coming to find out that I took it to Phil's bike shop??We'll never go back. We'll never go back.

I just needed to use a pump and he didn't just me. P o s Asian. You always let cyclist use whatever they need to use. He's not a good person. Just go to the bikes shop down the street closer to rallys or the one across the street

It's my 3rd time here, and I must admit he gets the job done quickly and correctly. It's a quaint neighborhood spot, it seems, but they are always available and accommodating. Got a nice bicycle tune-up (gears checked, left brake repair, new seat & kick-stand) and purchased a few items/accessories while there. Thanks, Phil - my new bicycle go-to!!!

Bad service, the guy was rushing at the service when we arrived and ended up sending us out with a flat, telling us everything was cool and charged us for getting the tire pumped. Came back after, explained the issue, he said we had to wait 20-30 more minutes.

Some technical difficulties. But we resolved the issue in the end I am satisfied with his work

I don't like his service she was rude to me. I just was asking a question and he answered me and Ron and everything and he told me when you have. when you have the correct answer come back, I said what the hell what is that for? he was rude.

Took my bike rim in to get true’d. He charged me $30 which I thought wasn’t bad and oddly finished the job within 10 minutes. He said it wasn’t a perfect true but the job was done. After 1 ride the rim went out of alignment again. Took it to another shop down the street, they said the job wasn’t done correctly and that they would do it for $18.So not only was the job not done correctly but apparently I was also ripped off. Never recommending this shop to anyone. Wish I could give 0 stars

My dad bought my first bicycle here over 30 years ago and had serviced my bikes here for years. I have to say, this place will always have my heart. This is a great place to buy bikes and get your bikes serviced. Never disappointed me. Every time I drive down Hawthorne blvd. I always turn my head towards the old Phil's bike shop, and always remember nothing but good memories. I love this place for ever and thank you for being part of our community and my life for years. You made this 39 year old kid very happy for many years and years to come.

Bad experience. Don't take an old bike here if you're looking for repairs.Walked into this shop browsed and spoke with David, seemed like a nice man I want to support this shop.A week later I came with an older fixie bike and spoke with Phil (older Asian man). Rode fine, but ugly tires and rusty chain. Charged me $129 (maybe this is a normal charge in the industry) for two new tires w/ inner tubes and a bike chain. I thought this was pricey but didn't want to haggle. I paid because I wanted the bike to ride better and I wanted support this guys business as I picked up a new bike riding hobby. A win win! Next day I came in to pick it up, looked nice. Phil said I was good to go...Took it outside shop, literally the first pedal and the chain would not move.Went back into shop. Phil said the rear axel was bad and he said it needed fixing and to come in next week so David could fix (Phil said he was on vacation or something). I told him it was working before... and asked if he could fix today. Said he'd give me a 'deal' at $25.... Told him that doesn't seem right seeing as how this wasn't an issue when I brought it in and he did it for $10. I am $139 in the hole now.I come back later that day. Phil seems upset since this was probably a pain to fix and he didn't make a profit. He shows me what he swapped, said he gave me a really good deal and that repair normally cost $39 or $49. Rode the bike around the block, cool. It works. So today (Saturday) I go for a ride. In about 15min I hear this weird grinding sound. I just thought it was an old crank. I get off the bike, the back wheel is very loose and unstable and moves from side to side.. Not the nut/bolts. I'm not going HAM on this bike or anything, just casually trying to ride. I really don't want to have to visit this spot a 4th time. The bike wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't new. I'm not naïve and was not expecting some incredible bike makeover. But I wish he would have really looked at it and told me it's not worth fixing (if that was the case) before taking $140 from me.The positive is I'm learning a lot about how bikes works. I just would advise whomever is looking into bike riding to avoid this shop for repairs.tl;dr:Paid $130 for 2 new tires w/ inner tubes + bike chain. Didn't work. Paid $10 more for him to make my bike move again like before. Rode it for about 15 min, loose back tire. Need to repair it myself thru the power of google :)
