Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital
4871 Rosecrans Ave, HawthorneDr Roskopf is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. I brought my atelopus barbotini in last week, and he gave me antibiotics to put them on because we are unsure if the pet shop lied about them being wild caught or not. I appreciate everything him and his team did for me and my toads. I only give four stars because the appt was about a half hour late, and we arrived 15 min early. Like with humans, things happen with animals, and if my pet needed an extra half hour of care, I would hope the next patient would be compassionate- this doesn’t seem like a place that plans poorly. You can’t go inside, which bothers me and is why I give four stars, because I prefer to be with my animals when I take them anywhere. Frogs and toads are easily stressed, new environments being the thing that stresses them out most, people often strongly recommend against taking them to the vet, but Nick Stacy aka indicator species recommended I go given the circumstances- (he is the first hobbiest to successfully breed atelopus outside a lab) so the extra time in the deli cup probably wasn’t great. Their prices are very reasonable, but having to sit in my car in an uncovered parking space was a bit difficult, and I wasn’t able to turn off my car or the a/c would turn off, which wasted a lot of gas…
Unfortunately the toad passed away a few days later, and Dr. Roskopf called me back right away and suggested I get an necropsy done asap, in case it can help with the one toad I do still have.
Speaking of gas, bless the people that work at the auto repair next door ? the screaming bird sounds can’t be easy to work next door to lol (not a critique of the vet, just to end things on a light note)
Ps- please do not buy animals from pet stores, go to reputable breeders directly. There are so many people that will do anything to make a sale, coming across this Doctor was a nice reminder there are good humans out there that actually care.

Eureka!
12101 Crenshaw Blvd, HawthorneWhile working next door coworkers and I came here for lunch. Indoor/outdoor seating, a large bar with plenty of seating and many different alcohols to choose from. Our waiter, True was his name was fantastic. I had a Caesar Salad which was good and my coworkers had sandwiches which looked really good and now I'm regretting my decision.

Chinese Kitchen Chinese Fast Food
11873 Hawthorne Blvd, HawthorneI was craving quick, cheap, and delicious Chinese food, and was super focused on getting a good value with massive portion sizes. I googled easy Chinese spots going down the 405 and came across Chinese Kitchen. Johan was 12/10 in customer service. They let me sample everything and every single dish was genuinely so flavorful and tasty. I couldn’t recommend going here enough.

Da Cajun Seafood Shack -
13708 S Inglewood Ave, HawthorneThis is a small place next to a small parking lot. So I was there on a rainy late Saturday afternoon and got right up to the order window. I had the fish and shrimp combo with cabbage and red beans & rice. The fish was fairly thickly and crunchy-battered cooked just right. The shrimp were quite large for a combo plate... this place isn't cheap, but they have it all down to a Cajun science. Food: 5* (Delicious to an item) Service: 5* (Delivered to my car) Looks like I'll be returning here!

Mi California
14047 Hawthorne Blvd, HawthorneMi California is an absolute gem in Inglewood! The food tastes like it was made with love — fresh, flavorful, and full of that authentic California-Mexican comfort. The carne asada tacos and enchiladas mole were incredible, and the rice and beans had that perfect homemade touch.
The staff were kind, fast, and genuinely friendly. The vibe is casual, relaxed, and open late, which makes it a great stop after work or a night out. Prices are fair for the quality and portions you get.
If you’re looking for real, flavorful Mexican food in the Inglewood area without the hype or pretense, this is it. Highly recommend! ??

Pizzaroni Pizza - Hawthorne
3909 Rosecrans Ave Ste A, HawthorneSo far the best pizza I’ve found in Hawthorne, I was expecting the crust to be a little thicker. The one I had was really thin, which was still ok as I like thin crust too. Next time maybe I’ll try the deep dish. Regardless, I’ll be back.

spcaLA South Bay Pet Adoption Center
12910 Yukon Ave, HawthorneI have been to the SPCA LA Animal shelter to look for a small shelter dog.
When I arrived in the facility, it was difficult to find the parking spaces.
They had a limited parking lot, so if you were the visitor, you have to park on the street.
I had to park on the street & U walked to the facility.
When I arrived at the building, I could tell the building was not a new building.
I had a friendly & attentive staff greeting me.
I went to a tour of the shelter facility.
They didn't have many dogs because most of the dog went to the adoption event.
They didn't have small dogs. Most cadoptable dogs are big or medium
sizes.
They have many dig Adoption event.
The facility was very clean and organized.
I walked around the shelter, but I couldn't find any small dogs that I liked.
This shelter was not like LA city shelter or LA county shelter
It was a small facility that had fewer dogs.
I liked it because it was very clean & organized.
If you want to adopt the shelter dog, this facility is right for you. They have
cute cats are adoptable, too.
