The one star is me being nice Brought in used shoes and clothes to sell they told me to come back the next day because it'd be reviewed in the morning and I'll get a text when it's done... I get the text and get here and they tell me every single piece is outdated and they couldn't except anything that I'd brought. Instead of sending the text letting me know it was complete why not text me and tell me nothing could be accepted and to just pick up my item. Mind you the shit in the store looked way more outdated than what I had in the store. So I thought it'd be fine. It's cool tho just wanted the money but don't go here unless you have bullshit ass clothes or shoes to pass on because that's all they accept.

Scam promo sellingThey held promo item to someone they know. When policy was not to hold items. It was a special Black Friday item 1st come 1st serve, Jordan 1 mocha. My 12yr old son was 1st on the line today Black Friday got in and stayed in front to point the item Jordan 1 shoe mocha. Platos worker has not put up/out the item but the box of shoe was behind their front register. My husband asked for the item that they want to take it but was told it will be put up later so my son waited in front of register. My son saw a man came and pointed behind the register to the box and said he will take that and asked the lady to put it on his bin.My son and husband again asks and this time was told someone already put it on hold. They won't even show the item to my husband at 1st.My son was waiting to put the item out he is eyeing for weeks, woke up very early and got in there 1st on line just to get disappointed with the unfair selling. It seems to be management modus another lady just behind my son also eyeing for item just to see someone came paid the item and left in a hurry. All the manager (Dolores) said they cant do anything...Their promo is false advertisement since the hold and sell items to someone they know.

I came to sell here, I brought in two large bags of women's and some men's clothes. They said it would be a 20 minute wait before they got to me, so I decided to leave and come back. They didn't take a single one of my items and it's because they didn't even look through all my items, I could tell by the way they were still folded like I had them. Not A Single Item out of two ikea bags full, it's obvious. Whoever was the buyer obviously didn't feel like doing her job right before a holiday. I will not be coming back here to buy or sell.

Plato’s closet has lost their value. They don’t have much quality clothes. Most are damaged.I sold to them one time- brought two baskets in with folded clothes. Got most of it back just thrown back into the baskets… with one basket overflowing. Not sure why it wasn’t common sense to even out the baskets but ultimately I wouldn’t do business or buy from them again.

African American girl with black dreadlocks was rude, when I asked her for a fitting room to be open for me to try on clothes on Friday she ignored me and kept on putting clothes away. Never again coming here!!

First of all, you're not Plato's Closet Long Beach if you're located in Hawaiian Gardens. Second, what is the point of me giving you my phone number if you're not going to text me when my clothes are done being gone through? There was a really sweet girl with fancy nails and she gets 5 stars but the older, dismissive lady gets 2 max. If you're selling your clothes, you gotta ask when they're done bc they won't tell you.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! You are better off selling on other platforms like ebay, offerup, Amazon. Their buyers have no idea of what is selling and what will sell in the future. I took in several high end designer pieces. The buyer said that they were not gong to take any of my things because they were not new....Excuse me this is a glorified thrift shop. They used the same line that everyone else stated in other reviews to not purchase anything. They miss out on a lot of revenue due to lack of knowledge of the fashion industry. The buyers have no idea what they are doing.

Do not supporttt 2/10 Do Not recommend They racially profile coming from a former employee they judge people off of the clothes that they wear. That's how you'll be treated in the store. Their prices is way too high and the pictures they post online don't match the pictures of the items when you get there the manager I don't know her name but she's rude as hell, I've been supporting the store for over five years and I will not be returning and I'm only speaking facts because I know what I saw when I worked there as an employee I got to the point where I had to keep calling off because they made me feel uncomfortable Because it's like we supposed to be a team and you come to work to judge people and talk about people like you're better and it's like do I stand up for what I believe in or do I be quiet and keep my job they pick and choose on items, so they want to save to hold And most of the employees be hiding stuff in the back so before the kid even hit the floor, they already have it on hold I also seen employees wearing clothes and putting it back Also, given free clothes to their family members i also reached out to corporate!!!!!

DO NOT GO HERE !They lowball you. They offered me $2 for a new HUF Spider-Man shirt. I had updated my phone number and they didn't send me a text once my items were ready. If I don't ask myself they won't let me know. They throw everything back into the bag you brought it in. The employees look at you and judge. Very uncomfortable environment. I would not recommend at all. It's better to sell your items online.

Do NOT SELL HERE! Me and my girlfriend took some clothes we had and they weren’t even old. They were also brand names like Lulu lemon, Levi’s, and brandy Melville and out of our whole container they only took 5 things and they were the last items we’d thought they’d buy. We sold a princess Polly dress that was new and they valued it at $3.20! That’s a $50 dress. I should’ve read the reviews because there are a lot of negative ones like mine. Your better off having a yard sale and not waste your time here.

A trash establishment cheating people and using a very unfair pricing system to sell your thrifted items. The staff incredibly rude and have a lot of attitude towards you when you have feelings about being screwed over and share them. Ask to speak with the manager they weren’t there. They may have cute clothes but BEWARE OF THE STAFF no good females who don’t know customer service and how to treat people

i wasn't expecting much, but i still ended up disappointed somehow. this is the worst plato's i've ever been to — and i used to work at one in eastern kentucky, lol.mostly low quality target/shein/cheap, unbranded stuff.no organization in terms of the sizes. there are XL's mixed in with XS's on every single rack.an alarming amount of items with visible stains on them.i was literally sweating in there (and i'm usually the person in the room who feels cold).small selection of men's clothing.the music was all, like, covers of country songs?? oh my god. it was miserable.trash in the changing room.i give two stars because the employee that let me into the changing room was nice, no complaints there.better off going to the OC plato's closets for better selection.

I love Plato's Closet! I buy a lot of second hand clothes and trade a lot of clothes on consignment. I've shopped in every location in every city I've lived in. I've always had great experiences, traded lots of stuff, gotten good deals and received the best service. I wish they had locations in and around Los Angeles, unfortunately Long Beach is the closest to me. But this location? SUUUUUUUUUUCKS! Man, I drove an hour to get here, and they're closed, for no reason. Google says they're open, their hours on their website says they're open. There's a woman at the register, the lights are on, but, they're just ignoring everyone. Now, the staff at this store aren't the best, either. They're not the worst, but could be better. I get it, they're very young, and severely underpaid (because let's face it, no one in retail is paid what they should be for such soul sucking work). And they don't buy very many things at this location either, not compared to what I'm used to. And this is why I only come here about once or twice a year. Which is why I'm so incredibly annoyed that I drove aaaaaalll the way out here just to be completely denied my subpar shopping experience. My true recommendation is, don't waste your time coming here unless you live really close. But also you can find some good deals here, but be prepared to be annoyed for the day.
