Not a safe place to bring your family members. Once you admit them they can refuse to allow you to see them until visiting hours even when they are in distress. No compassion.

My father was taken to ER after a fall early in the am on 12/15. It was determined after an MRI he suffered from water on the brain due to high blood pressure. Several critical points. Once he was admitted he received exemplary care from the nursing staff on the 3rd floor including Karlethia, Samantha and David. I cannot thank them enough for the dedication and compassion they showed during my fathers stay. I would however like to mention the following drs Scott Lee and David Tawfik and administrative staff specifically as extreme blemishes during my fathers stay. After reviewing the notes in my fathers charts it was noted there were many outlandish lies recorded including accusations by dr Scott Lee that our family had abandoned my father for 18 years. This appeared to be in retaliation to me advising him that his care of my father was substandard which included him trying to bully a 76 year old man into allowing a lumber puncture procedure to be performed and threatening to discharge him if he didn't accept the treatment. I finally talked my father into the procedure only to be told by Dr Lee the following day the procedure was not necessary. Dr Lee also seemed to show little or no concern for my father after My father had a psychotic episode and threatened the staff and himself even though we had shared with him that our father suffered from PTSD. Dr Lee insisted that my fathers behavior was due to him being elderly. At this time I lost trust in the care he was providing and I asked that he be removed as my dads dr. Unbeknownst to our family we found out from Sue Sumner on 12/30/22 that my father had been medically released 2 days prior and if we appealed his discharge a board and care selected by and paid for by Kaiser that my father would be financially responsible for his stay. After many recorded conversations regarding the placement of my father in a board and care facility due to him needing memory care and due to his medical needs, Maria Gloria Sue Sumner placed my father in an unlicensed facility via ambulance which is in direct conflict with the information contained in his chart. Upon arrival it was clear the facility was not a board and care! There was no one there to administer/monitor his medication dispensing nor was there someone there to monitor him in the event he wandered away from the facility as Sue Sumner advised there would be. Sue advised there would be 3-4 staff members at the facility to keep my father from wandering as this was a potential concern. Reached out to case manager sue sumner the first night my father was at the board and care as my fathers run had a door that led out to the backyard and after he had an accident was advised one of the other patients would assist him with shower which we obviously vetoed! There were no clean towels and the house manager advised my father could use paper towels to dry off! This was a nightmare. Needless to say after several answered calls to case manager Sue Sumner After several days due to violent behavior between the house manager and the clients at the facility it became very apparent that it was not safe nor was my father going to receive the care he needed and we made immediate arrangements to remove him. Myself and my family have been patients of Kaiser since I was in high school (I'm 60 years old) and we have never received such horrible care nor so much misinformation/disinformation from any of our caregivers at any Kaiser facility. We got lucky and my father is on the road to recovery but due to the apathetic behavior of everyone but the nurses we believe this was sheer luck. We have escalated this very serious matter to membership services but it seems as though since my father escaped any serious harm that the matter is being swept under the rug. Sad. My in-laws are Kaiser patients and live in San Pedro which means Harbor Southbay would be the closest hospital to them. I pray they never need to be taken there. Do yourself a favor and avoid Kaiser South Bay at all cost if you care for your loved one as your family might not be so

Very bad service, I cannot get an appointment,if I knew it was like this I would have gladly stayed with blue shield which was 200.00 a month but worth it. Kaiser is the worse ever. The staff is great just can never get an appointment.

* Correction: bladder infection now because can't get a urologist to call back for weeks on end. And ofc their staff can't do anything but take messages as long as your infection comes M-F before 4PM. Back at the ER nightmare that is Kaiser Harbor City. Feels moot to complain 7.5 hours after a 7 hour estimated treatment time for a UTI when we got here at 7PM and it's 3AM but since we're still sitting here when literally rounds of patients have cycled out but here I go doing it anyway because again, they have us falling asleep here. I realize I need to get back to TMMC asap, save yourself please.

I know I complain about Kaiser all the time but I will say that their L&D department is Amazing. Never have I had such a caring OBGYN as Dr. Vo-Hanser, she was with me through two pregnancies back to back and I'm kind of sad our journey has come to an end. Her nurse Adrian makes me feel so welcome when I come in for my appointments and it's been so refreshing to have while being pregnant in 2020-2022. I often tell my husband that I was assigned the dynamic duo to get me through both of my pregnancies.

Kaiser had gone down the tubes. You can die before you get an appointment! Takes weeks to get a Dr appt. I've been trying for months trying to get a Councelor to help my daughter with her health issues. They have none available at Kaiser so they give you a list. Call and call. Either they no longer take Kaiser, or they don't call you back or they do not take new patients! Must switch to new insurance! Beware!!

We have been at the ER waiting for more almost 6 hours. People work slowly. No information. Ridiculous. It is more like a DMV office.

Today , YELP COMMUNITY, I had to have a stress test at Harbor City cardiology Department. Third floor of the coastline building. Everyone were in their place and worked as a team. The technicians and the RN that administered my IV medication, and doctor who stayed in the room during the entire procedure. I THANK EACH OF YOU BECAUSE I WAS SCARED. But you all calmed me down every step of the procedure. THANK YOU ALL! we are blessed and pray your continued service to your members and the community at Large ! I came through this serious test because they walked me through step by step and calmed my nerves! I just want to commend this team today and all the teams at Kaiser because I know that they care about us. You and me. Thank you for your heart and your dedication to serving the public!

I went there with shortness of breath so bad I couldn't talk or breath and waited 5 hours before seeing a doctor. The receptionist have very cold responses to everyone. After 5 and 1/2 hours when I saw the doctor it was better, so this review is for the reception and waiting area. At a minimum they should have snack machines nearby to help people get through the crazy long wait times and they should monitor the condition of the patients in the waiting area.

Got admitted Tuesday night at 9PM. They got me a room and told me I'd need an MRI. The rule with MRIs is that you have to fast from the night before, so as I get my room the doctors told me no food or water until the MRI results. I JUST got my MRI last night (2 days later!!!!). It's been 9 more hours and no results. And I have not had water or food for going on 3 FUCKYN days now!!!! They will neglect you and Forget you!!! Sincerely Joseph Gonzalez.

I cannot recommend this hospital to anyone searching for a good labor & delivery location. My wife and I had a daughter delivered at this hospital in 2018. I held off with this review and judgement until I could compare my experience with another hospital. This Kaiser is a big business that just shuffles you through the motions and doesn't take a personal approach at any point. You're a number and give you the minimal experience as possible. They will pressure you to induce to speed everything up. Then, don't expect a doctor to relieve your baby. You'll be assigned two to three young inexperienced delivery nurses that will give you attitude and giggle through the process. Seriously. These nurses were 21-23 years old at best and acted like they were shopping in a mall together. They only spoke to us to bark orders. Fast forward four years. We delivered at Little Company of Mary in Torrance and our experience were night and day. Our Kaiser experience was Motel 6 compared to Little Company Of Mary's Ritz Carlton experience. We were assigned veteran nurses and a solid DOCTOR for delivery. Every single employee that we interacted with was personable, polite, and knowledgeable. If you want to feel like cattle, go with Kaiser...

Everything about this place is pathetic. From urgent care, to the emergency room. I went to urgent care Thursday for shortness of breath and chest pain. I have been a Kaiser member for over 10 years and have a history of asthma which they are aware of. Yet and still the doctor checked me for nothing but Covid. Once that test was negative the doctor sent me home and told me to take Tylenol (yes Tylenol for shortness of breath). Fast forward, today is now Saturday and I came to the ER because my symptoms worsened, only to find out that I have influenza A. I have been sitting in the emergency room since 4:00pm, it is now 9:01pm. I have yet to be called. Not sure why someone being unable to breath doesn't seem urgent to them or why you would have someone wait 5+ hours for EMERGENCY CARE, but it's sad. Kaiser has tons of lawsuits all the time and I literally see why. This is the worse location of theirs that I have ever been to, if I had the energy I would've definitely drove to another location. I really hope you all get the consequences you deserve for the neglect and inconsideration you all give your patients. It's not okay and peoples' health should be taken much more seriously. If it's not serious to you as a person you shouldn't work in the medical field. I will also be filing a grievance with member services.

My friend had an appointment for a procedure and was admitted at the exact time. Everything went well as scheduled. It only took 1 and 3/4 hours from when we came until discharge. No extra waiting. Very efficient.
