Came in from out of town to do a signature card for a new account ( we already had a couple accounts with them) we were told the day before it was ready. They made us wait and continued taking other people as they walked in. Then it took 3 of them to figure out what to do. This is the worst bank for customer service I’ve ever dealt with. The Visalia branch is horrible so I figured try this one but I was wrong

I have an office across the street from this bank. This is warning to all concerned business owners to stay clear of this bank. The following happened. 1. I innocently mentioned to them (West America) I needed to refiance my building loan about 1 million dollars. 2. They were aggressive and came right over( think used car salesman) to my business a family clinic and assured me that the loan was in the bag. 3. Several months later of non stop tax returns financial reports AR reports they told me the loan " missed" their requirements by a tiny bit. 4. They referred me to Mid Valley Financial in Fresno who pressured me (to take out a " bridge" loan just till paper work is better and we can get a standard loan back with WestAmerica.. ( This was the bait and switch) 5. I took out the loan with Mid Valley at 11 % interest rate. and wait for it... a 35,000.00 fee back to Mid Valley and maybe? a kick back back to West America 6. Now its 3 years later, Bank America , Bank of Sierra, Chase Bank , The SBA -CenCal, Bank of the West will not touch this loan because Mid Valley is considered a shady ? hard money lender ?? therefore you are labeled for ever as troubled borrower. Their words not mine. By the way, my credit score is 820. So a fat lie . 7. I contacted the California Dept of business affairs to complain about West America. I was told to basically buzz off. 8. I sold my clinic on 2-28-2019 ( we serve over 8000 patients ) in Kings county ) at auction ( because the Mid Valley Loan is due and no lender will refi it. I got a so so price. But the damage is done my company is out hundreds of thousands of dollars maybe millions. At least the new owner a Pakistani dentist who has millions of family money will expand the clinic with dental as well. ( he does not need to grovel to a imbecilic local bank to get the funds.) 9. I reserve the right to have a top Bank litigation firm in Sacramento pursue this case.

The ladies here at the Hanford branch are extremely rude. They wouldn't listen to what I was saying. They kept flirting with the guy beside me. So unprofessional!!

My experience with Westamerica bank to date is NOT a very good one! First of all my deposit was wrongfully deposited into a family account causing checks to bounce resulting in overdrawn fees that to date is over two hundred dollars, and accruing $5 every day, all because one teller or manager deposited money into the wrong account. When I brought this to their attention all they could put back into my account was $79. As soon as I can rectify this huge mistake I will take my business to another institution.

Employees change too often. Seems they are always getting fired for something. They are probably the most expensive bank out there. Their technology is that of the 90's if they are lucky. And apparently they have no plans on changing that anytime soon. Through the years I banked there they lost several good people, tellers and managers alike, who were great assets to their team. Without improvement in these areas, they will never be able to compete in their industry.
