A very cozy and homely hotel, spacious rooms with all the services including a Jacuzzi bathtub. Tasting menus even though I like regular cuisine as Spanish.Walks among trees totally in nature.

I was needing a getaway weekend and found this hotel. Beautiful place and details. The main house has a cozy fireplace with blankets, books and boardgames. I enjoyed the complementary wine while reading my book. My room was clean and big with a gorgeous tub. Bring your own epson salts and bubbles if you want to use it. The mini fridge was full with drinks including wine, and snakes were reasonably priced. Breakfast was included. Different options to choose from. There's a restaurant in the premises but you have to make a reservation. The food was delicious. What I didn't like were the sheets. They had a strong chlorine smell. Still water had the same taste. I couldn't sleep properly thanks to the guests upstairs making noise at 5am on a Sunday. Who is awake so early? Jeez. It's common in old houses to hear the voices and footsteps I guess. Just ask to get a top room if you have a light sleep like me. Also, when receiving the receipt on the email, it'd be better if it explained the detail instead of just the $.

This boutique resort is a world away....yet close to the charming town of Guerneville. The rooms and public spaces are bespoke with plenty of spots to read, rest and recharge. The staff are thoughtful, professional and strive to make your experience unforgettable. Cassandra was knowledgeable about the history of the property and showed us some spaces of the resort we didn't know existed. Great experience!

Just booked our trip for February. This review is based on my interaction with the owner, Emily. SHE IS LOVELY! We are so excited to stay and if the hotel matches her hospitality, I know it will be such a memorable and beautiful stay. Can't wait!

I had a wonderful birthday getaway here! First of all the property is beautiful. There’s lots of space to wander around, looking at beautiful trees and a meadow. From the top of the hill, there’s a spectacular view of the area and you can see it sitting on a bench swing. The staff is all very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! my room was gorgeous. I enjoyed sitting and reading in the large lobby area with a fireplace. They have games and puzzles for you to work on, which you can do during their wine happy hour. Breakfast was awesome! I recommend the breakfast sandwich. This is a great place to have peace, quiet, calm, and beauty!

We stayed at The Stavrand for our wedding weekend and are so thrilled that we did! It is the most peaceful and beautiful location. With so much going on around our wedding, we were truly able to relax and decompress at The Stavrand. The team there was extremely helpful and thoughtful, leaving us an amazing wine and chocolate in our room to congratulate us and bringing champagne at breakfast for us (plus breakfast is delicious). The rooms are so comfortable and the pool and hot tub are the perfect temperature and beautiful surrounded by trees. The beds are also incredibly comfy. We will be coming back soon! Thanks for making our stay so memorable and perfect!

We had a beautiful experience at this hidden gem, the cedar hot tube and fireplace in our room set the mood for an amazing evening of great food and friendly conversations. In the morning we had some tasty coffee and our breakfast was as delicious as dinner. As we walked through the redwoods back to our car we were already planning our next stay. Thank you to all the staff who made our experience so memorable.

I can't write enough great things about The Stavrand. Having visited for three nights during the week in early fall, it was quieter. The grounds are beautiful with many areas to lounge or relax including the pool and hottub. The room was huge, clean, and had an outdoor soaker tub. Easy walk to Guerneville and some great restaurants. Short drives to some of the best wineries and hiking in the whole region.☆ Awesome breakfast in the restaurant☆ Great wine hour☆ Incredible friendly staff always ready with recommendations☆ EV charging on siteIf you're considering a visit to the area, highly recommend it.

This is an amazing property, and we will definitely be going back. Everything about the Stavrand is really well thought out and well executed--sitting areas, strolling opportunities, amazing food and an uber-attentive staff. Our room upstairs in the Belden House was well-appointed, and the bed was super comfortable! Warning for those with "princess tendencies": I believe the property dates back to the 20s, so the floors, doors and stairs will creak. This was NOT an issue for us. From the moment we checked in, it felt very much like 'home'. We spent a wonderful night in front of the fireplace playing cards and games. The walk to downtown is easy, and the ride or drive to Armstrong Woods is a must-do. Dining options on the main drag in Guerneville are numerous, from casual to really fine dining (we couldn't get to Boon or Saucy Mama's in time Sunday night but Dawn Ranch served an amazing small plates menu on --beyond good!). The morning breakfast and coffee in the Stavrand Dining Hall were top tier--the NOT French Toast is not not delicious. Must have. Again, I cannot emphasize how friendly and accommodating the staff at the Stavrand is (hope you had a happy Friendsgiving, y'all). See you in the Spring!

Lovely hotel! So clean, staff is so friendly and accomodating. Very comfortable. I just wish it was closer to a cooler town than Guerneville. The path to town on the pedestrian bridge felt unsafe, especially walking back at night.

Grace. Elegant reception, old European feel and the grounds on an old orchard. Staff went out of their way for me time and time again. Magical touches. S'mores for the making out in the courtyard for a midnight snack. Chef made Yummy potato Croquettes, homemade salsa and fluffy eggs and fresh squeezed juice for breakfast.

We loved our stay here. The rooms are simple yet stylish & very clean & comfortable. It was a perfect spot for a Sonoma County staycation. The only thing that could use more attention is the pool area. When we were there it was very cold & full of leaves/pine needles. Regardless, we look forward to a return.

Book a room ASAP before this place gets wildly popular and featured on every travel guide list! Our wedding took place last weekend in Sebastopol and we wanted a peaceful but well thought out staycation during the festivities (we live in Sebastopol). Everything from the room, staff, and service was top-notch. Most surprising was the amazing bottle of wine they provided us and the breakfast!!! The breakfast blows away nearly all cafes I've been to recently and reminded me of my time in Melbourne Australia where cafe culture and breakfasts have a high bar. Don't miss the small holes around the property! We'd love to come back in the rainy season. *Also dog friendly, our little pup also enjoyed the stay and we appreciate them allowing friendly dogs to stay
