Hello. Today at Safeway store # 950 Don Whiaker (707)869-0613 Guerneville self check out was a big problem with me and my wife, we both used to different self check out .The Cashier went to me and my wife for the same problems with self check unit, the unit would not take our member numbers on two different units, at the same time. We never had problems with safe check out with any units for 5 yrs. This union worker woman consistently made problems for a simple transaction going very fast, that's not normal at Sabastopol CA store and others. I love unions that works. Please treat people with consideration and understanding and stay with customer to finish the transacton and complete your job. She cause my bank card to stop working for this weekend. She fabricated the problem for two people of color, shame on Safeway Corp. Remember we had two Cashier on board going to fast for seniors that may look young. Please don't discriminate at self check out with people of color.

The worst safeway in the entire world. The people that work there are CRAZY. I remember during covid when the workers would call the local 2 sheriffs for masks not being worn over the nose, old women at the deli fixing thier hair then making you some deli items, a fake service dog drooling at the sight of packaged food, a group of tourists speaking loudly while thier kids run around pell mell, a crying manager of the store unable to get things under control and a filthy building thats falling apart. The worst part of the safeway is the drama between the employees and the community. This safeway employs people who are homless living in trailers on the side of the road. This is a FACT with out a doubt. Several homeless trailer living people work here. This safeway will make you sick from food poising as well. This safeway is not a neighborhood market, its a cooperate cesspool that drains the community.

They were there when I needed them, 11pm and stocked with Poison Oak medicine. Got a few local brewery flavors in their fridge and chose from a variety of trail mix. They know what people are looking for.

Easily accessible spot to pick up food and essential grocery items for a stay in Guerneville or the surrounding area. Their produce was even fresher than what we get in the Central Valley Safeways, sometimes. Everything is a bit more expensive than I might have cared for, but quality was good and we got everything we needed, and the service at the deli, meat counter, and check out was all kind and helpful.

On the way to visit Amstrong Redwood park, we stopped by this Safeway to get some food and use the restroom. Food: my mother-in-law got some sushi. It was okay. Not bad but not amazing so something you'd expect from Safeway. Produce looked decent to me.Service: we didn't interact with anyone and we used self-checkout so I can't comment much about customer service Ambiance: this Safeway has lots of parking. Inside seems a little small and old. Not the worst but in general, just okay.Restroom: restrooms from a grocery store is usually not super clean and this one isn't an exception. They have 2 restrooms for both men & women, way in the back (if you're near the self-checkout, just go straight to the back and you'll see it). I'm not sure how clean they were but the look of the restrooms themselves and the surrounding made me feel they were dirty. Safeway could improve this for their employees too.

The Guerneville Safeway didn't have any of the 7 free things on my rewards list and they expire tomorrow. The checker said I could only get a rain check for the items by calling an 800 number. I went home and spent 25 minutes on the phone getting nowhere then only to be dropped back to the main menu to start all over again. When I called back after 15 minutes of the person "checking" my account they could not find any the the things I spoke of even as I was looking directly at them on my app. I was finally told it was at the discretion of the store whether or not any rain checks would be issued. So coupons and rewards mean nothing. Double **** that piece of **** that is Safeway. They have gone downhill since Albertsons bought them out and things will only get worse now that Albertsons is being bought by Kroger. One corporation is about to control around 65% of the retail food market. Monopoly anyone?

This store is so much worse since Albertsons bought it. Most of the employees are great and helpful, but the store is massive ly, over priced, prices for pro ducts are mislabeled and mis placed, quality of produce crappy. There is nothing good to say about this store, I only go there whwn desperate, and don't want to drive. Again I want to repeat tgus is not a review of the employees just the disgusting corporations running it.

Rebekah has made my experience at Safeway so pleasant that I had to come leave a good review. She usually works the drive up and go, and when she's working, it always a great experience. She's usually always on time, and has all star customer service & communication. If there's any reason she's ever running late, she comes out to let me know why. You can tell she's just a genuinely good person who cares for others. I'm really thankful for her!

When visiting for the week, I made two stops at this location and found it to be a nice small town Safeway. I got what was needed for our dinners in, beer, wine, and desserts without question would come back to this store. I see a lot of posts about long lines, when I went at 5pm on a Friday there was 3 people on the line in front of me. The cashier and bagger were polite and courteous with me and everyone else in line.

Nothing like being the only grocery store in town and having no cold medicine at all during the winter. Also the pharmacy staff is rude and incompetent. I live in Guerneville and plan to do all my grocery shopping in Santa Rosa because I dislike everything about this Safeway experience. I wish this river town could do better.

I recommend Safeway for their sandwiches. They have the best fresh sandwiches that you can find in Guerneville. Their Italian combo is to die for. They are a little costly but fresh, plentiful and delicious.

Don't bother making lists, because they'll be out of a majority of what you're hoping to find. If you're paying with cash, plan to wait forever for the single cashier, because their self checkouts don't accept cash, and they're the only way to get out of the store efficiently. There's constantly dogs in the store despite it being against health codes. It's unfortunate that they're the only grocery store in the area, because they use it as an excuse to suck.

We recently moved here from San Francisco and very happily surprised to see such a large, well stocked supermarket in such rural area. Prices are very reasonable, long hours for a small town. Staff is friendly. Have no idea where the reviews that are so critical are coming from- assume tourists expecting Whole Foods at Walmart prices? Wine prices and selection are great! Only wish would be a better selection of local organic produce. Better to hit the numerous farmers markets anyway. We are grateful for such a one stop shop!

Popped in for a quick shop of essentials- water, firewood, crab legs, scallops and oysters.... Like I said, "essentials." Found everything we were looking for, as well as a few extra items we didn't necessarily need (like chocolate and more wine). The cashier's were curtious and everyone (staff and shoppers) was masked and respectful of maintaining personal boundaries. Came by after 5pm on a Thursday and it was definitely busy with after work shoppers. Queue moved quickly though and we were on our way without delay. Good spot for essentials in Guerneville area.

After 10pm they shut down the self check out even when the lines are long. They have shut down all 4 self check out station even though there was a line waiting to use then. Then they make those people get into the only open check line which is already long. And lastly there are plenty of employees that could open another check out lane but they don't.
