It's a fantastic place to visit.. we had our lunch and did the trail to the 2 big trees(Colonel Armstrong and parsons tree) in the park.. it's a simple trail with minimal to no elevation gain
It's cool even when the temperature is high, thanks to the tall trees

Beautiful redwood forest reserve with less crowds. Parking was free flowing. May need to wait a few minutes to get parking within the lot. Or drive a few blocks to park on the street.
Or you can pay the park fee and drive into the park to park in other view points inside the park

This is a great experience with plenty of different trails to hike. I would really like to come back soon so I can hike some more of the trails.

One of our favorite places. Armstrong Woods is great for hiking, short nature walks, and unique amazing trees. Some of the tallest/biggest trees in the world, and easy access/ parking/ hiking trails.$10 to park inside the park or in the outer parking lot, easy pay stations where you can use credit card or cash (and usually an attendant at the kiosk on the way into the park). It’s a Christmas tradition to go walk in the quiet, serene park on Christmas Day. ?[Pro tip: Coffee Bazaar on Armstrong Woods Rd. is open Xmas day and sells tasty coffee drinks and pastries as well as breakfast burritos!]

There is a $10 parking fee. If you don't use the parking lot outside the park, the trails inside are easy and easy to walk. Some of the other connected trails may be closed, so you need to be prepared for plan B or retrace your steps.

What a great park! Easy to access, parking was $10, and right on trail. If you want no crowds, accessible, and a real joy to have it all to your self at 8am. Stunning. I love Muir Woods, but wow this is a real close second.
