All I can say is wow to their Pinots. Just wow! It could have been the day or the second tasting of the day, but wow their Pinots are delicious! Pinots aren't my preferred red wine, I love me a good zin. These Pinots here are very deep, complex and flavorful. Most Pinots are more on the light side and has a very tart after finish, but these Pinots are very fruit forward and a smooth oaky finish. We love their TNT and Ruxton. Their RRV is great too! Bought many bottles. Was not a fan of the Cab Franc but that's bc it's not my preferred wine. Their granche was good too. They have some snacks if you get hungry. $40 tasting fee (a little steep) but waived with 2 bottle purchase. Which is easily done! The owner Barbara was there and friendly. She was very knowledgeable. Was recommended this place from Emeritus. Bottles are around $40-50. Highly recommended if you love Pinots.

Definitely some of the best Pinot Noir I've ever had! Thanks to a nod from a fellow competitor, we came and visited this fine small establishment. The owners are extremely nice people and are truly knowledgeable in their craft. These are Pinot experts! Delicious! Wine is very subjective, so I'm not going to convince you to love Pinot, just to try it and see what you think... Street parking Tasting fee is $40, but waived with two bottle purchase. Bottles are roughly $40-$50 on average.

Had a terrific tasting experience here with wife and close friends after sampling a glass of their 2018 Russian River Pinot a few nights earlier at a local restaurant. Beautiful wines across the board in a peaceful, low-key setting. Barb was a gracious hostess, very Covid-safe, with outdoor space. Highly recommend.

Terrific stop while out wine tasting for the day! I honestly had never heard of Paul Mathew Vineyards prior to checking Yelp while driving through Graton. It looked promising, so gave it a whirl and was glad I did. The owner actually greeted us, very kind individual who invited us to the bar and sparked multiple wonderful conversations about the winery and its history. If you have never been to West County for wine tasting, you typically experience certain varietals which usually consists of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay while tossing in some Syrah, Cab, and of course Rose. Me and my friend who are huge Pinot nuts, found ourselves at home. Their extensive lineup of Pinot live up to the hype of the area! Hard to really pick a winner as I really enjoyed them all. I was bummed to find out they either used to currently make bubbles, but I will need to add it as a revisit again soon! Tasting room wise, it is not the largest, so I can see it being a tough spot during peek tourist season, but I am unsure if they have outdoor seating or not. With all of that said, pricing is spot on for the area, so do not expect over priced wines that do not match their price tag. Overall, great spot if you are in the area and want to visit a great winery.

Their wine is exceptional! Every wine on their tasting menu was unique and excellent in its quality. Also the price point on the wine cannot be beat because all the wines are truly five star quality. The owners are warm and welcoming and make the experience such a joy! Very rarely do I post reviews but I felt compelled to do so, because I cannot recommend this winery enough! Thank you to Barb and Mat for such a great experience.

Great spot for pinot tasting. Owners are former sommeliers, and super friendly and knowledgeable about wines, both their own and others'. Great selection of pinots, including a sparkling version. Worth a detour if you're not planning to pass by.

An excellent experience tasting some of the best wines in the region. The Pinot Noirs are exceptional and it was nice to pair the cheese and crackers etc that can be purchased there. Barb was a delight to chat with and made our experience so lovely and relaxed and safe especially in the current environment. We ended up buying 5 bottles and will definitely be going back to Graton for more. Can't wait!...

We did a wine tasting with Barb and it was a great experience. The wine was exceptional. If you like pinots, trying Paul Mathew is a must. There is so much range in the tastes coming from their different vineyards. They are taking all the necessary precautions to make people feel safe and comfortable visiting in the current environment. The outdoor seating area was very relaxed. We were able to bring in food from nearby restaurants to accompany our tasting. Barb shared so much useful information about the different wines and made us feel very welcome. The entire visit was such a joy.

Paul Matthews makes some of the best wine in Sonoma. Their Pinot is my favorite. This place is a true hidden gem although not that hidden... it's located in the heart for Graton. The owners are a joy to talk to and are always pouring in the tasting room. If you would like a real treat check out Paul Matthews on your next wine tasting excursion, you won't be disappointed. During the shut down they are doing curb side pick up which is AWESOME!

Came in expecting just to taste and move on, ended up leaving with a case. What can I say, i'm a s***** for excellent pinot and Paul Mathew has it! Additionally, they had a Chardonnay (2012) with characteristics i've never tasted before - more of a white burgundy style that i also bought. Learned a lot by visiting and speaking with the wine makers, thanks again for your hospitality and discussion!

We tried the Paul Mathew Rose at a restaurant in Jenner and wanted to take some home with us. Unfortunately the winery was closed the days we were in the area, so I contacted them via Facebook to find where we could buy their wines. Barb was quick to respond and even offered to meet us the next day at the tasting room. What a wonderful experience! Their Rose is great, as is the Viognier and the Gewurztraminer. Also really liked the Cabernet Franc and the Pinot Noir. Ended up buying a case of wine and we know we will be back there in the near future. Great people and wine! Thank you!

Matt, the winemaker, made his Rose this year (not a yearly occurrence - limited production). We found Paul Mathew winery originally on a recommendation because of their Rose. We think it is the best we have tasted of any Rose this year. Grab some food to go from Willowood (try the salmon sandwich) or Underwood, buy a bottle of the Rose, and sit out back in their outdoor area.
