We stayed at this gorgeous charming hotel in Grass Valley while looking at property to buy. I did not expect the underrated luxury or the food and drinks to be so amazing.

Brought BFF Mom in from out of town for dinner and the experience was quality. I am the guy who is always ordering different than what's on the menu. Vegan gluten free I ordered the risotto with the Parm fritters on the side because other ppl can still enjoy them. T'was tasty just not the best, more fresh components would be ideal and or gluten free garlic bread because you know we come in to eat too. Coco Loco for a beverage was refreshing. The negroni my friend had was very smoky and very Compari, lemon twist instead of an orange twist. Thanks Holbrook Hotel!

Last Summer my fellow colleagues, a mix of school teachers and principals, met in downtown GV for some end of summer festivities, a movie, lunch, and cocktails. We came here, for some cocktails and lunch. The server was the rudest and most snobby employee I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. We felt that she was made that she had to work, to actually wait on customers. She made a snide remark to one of my friends when she'd ordered a coke/Pepsi. The server looked our friend up and down and suggested a "diet" coke? My friend was shocked, as were we. The service never improved. It was slow, she was rude, and Iwas completely embarrassed. I have been a resident here for 20 years and my family has been here for 6 generations.

We stopped in on Memorial Day for an impromptu snack and beverage. We haven't been there for many years. They've remodeled a portion of their lobby and it looks very nice. Lots of history there. We sat on the rear veranda and enjoyed sharing their brussel sprouts, wagu burger and with garlic fries. That was really good and plenty for three people. The service was excellent. Our waitperson was super attentive and their suggestions were spot on. You know, living around here, we don't frequent some of these places as much as we should. You might consider swinging by.
