“***CASH ONLY***Went here on a weekday afternoon during lunch. The market wasn't busy and parking outside was easy to find.For many people, a janky-looking spot would immediately turn them off. For me, this is where you can find hidden gems for food. The lighting here is somewhat uneven in spots, stacks of boxes are scattered across the place as if they just got a truck load and didn't bother putting the merchandise on the shelf. The building is definitely past it's prime.Once you look at the menu you find some very affordable Thai dishes that most other restaurants charge $2-$5 more for. I came here a few years back, ordered a pad thai plate for $6.75, and it was delicious and abundant. This time I ordered a large seafood pho and an order of chicken penang...for less than $20! I took it to go, but the seafood pho absolutely hit the spot. They don't add as many condiments as other spots add (soy sauce only), but that's not a major issue. The penang was delish and a very good size.Overall don't let the interior fool you, this place is a gem. Very affordable dishes and cooked well. You can also eat inside in a separate room. Also, from the items sold in the market you can find a wide variety of food items to take home. Highly recommend coming here.”

“Was visiting bf's family in Porterville and finally was able to visit this market. Most impressive given that where I currently live (Tracy/Mountain House), there's NOT even one Asian Market in sight. I always wondered about this because there are Asian (Filipino,Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian + other Southeast Asians) that live here however, the predominant population of Asians are South Asians (origin: India). At MT&Y, there is a variety of offerings for most, if not all Asian groups, and I was so excited to see how organized the various food products were stocked. Also, the prices are reasonable. Of course, I'd say this since Tracy/Mountainhouse is just a hop, skip and a jump from Livermore aka as the bay area. I bought tinapang bangus (smoked milkfish) and octopus for poke. I will definitely be back when I visit again. It was such a great feeling to go to this market. Lastly, the butcher counter is definitely a place to get your meats for bbq and hope to do my shopping there soon for this too!”

“Large, reasonably priced selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. They do sell dog and cat food. Their prices are slightly lower than other stores but usually commensurate and they have a smaller selection. The store is well maintained and employees are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Parking can get tight because of the stores surrounding it.”

“I can't say enough about the amazing staff at this store. I work near here and stop by at least a couple times a week. Each time I'm here, everyone is so helpful, nice, and I feel they really go out of their way to help when needed. I work with clients in public settings and I bring some of my clients to the store for outings, everyone here is extremely accommodating and welcoming. I've never had a bad experience. Everything I need is always in stock, the store is VERY clean and organized as well. The manager Joe, assistant manager David, and ALL of the cashiers and other employees go above and beyond to make this store an excellent experience for everyone.”

“This store is decent. Always pretty clean and organized. They keep their inventory stocked up pretty well. The produce section isn't the best as far as options but I can't complain because its good quality and not old or disappointing looking. Prices are pretty high but not much higher than most grocery stores. The employees have always been fairly nice and knowledgeable. Shout out to an employee named Liz. She's only helped me once but she left a good impression. One thing that I do think they need to work on is paying attention to advertised sales.. like the little price tag/coupon things that they will stick right under the product. There have been a couple times where the deal wasn't honored in the system and I had to bring it to their attention or the tag would still be left under the item even though the deal is expired. Other than that, I would definitely recommend.”
