After my parked Prius got hit and totaled by an uninsured driver, I stopped by Toyota of Santa Barbara in my rental car, in hopes I could find a replacement locally. I was open to looking at other Toyotas as well. I checked out other dealerships and options outside the area as well.
From the first moments Elijah Carlson spoke up to assist me, I had a great customer experience and feel really good about my decision to buy from them. Elijah has all the qualities one would want from a sales person!
Two close friends of mine have known the sales manager Tom Zimmerman for decades, and both told me he is to be trusted.
I was a sales and customer service trainer for years and have had family in auto sales, so I'm always looking at the process through that lens.
What a joy the entire experience was.
I would recommend both Tom and Elijah to anyone who wants a Toyota. Thank you for being an example in the world where so many businesses and individuals have lost their way.

My Tacoma received a recall notice for the upper brake light, so I called Santa Barbara Toyota to set up an appointment. During the call, I also mentioned the clear-coat on top of the cab seemed defective. They assured me they'd take a look. I drove out from Carpinteria for a 715a appointment. I got checked in pretty quick but that was the highlight. By now its 20 minutes after my appointment and I'm getting a little impatient. I interrupted the service guy sitting at a computer, who was busy watching a football game. I asked if I had to wait for my technician or was I free to go. "Ideally you'd wait," he said. No problem. Shortly after, another tech came over and said he couldn't check out my light because I have a camper shell on my truck. Ok, what about the paint? "We don't do paint here," was his response.
Toyota sold me a truck with a potentially defective taillight and Santa Barbara Toyota expected me to make their job easier by first removing the camper shell before the appointment but didn't tell me until I was there. Customer service completely dismissed my defective factory paint job contrary to what was said when I made the appointment.
Santa Barbara Toyota used to be awesome!! I gave a 5 star review here 3 years ago. Not sure what happened.

There are a lot of dealerships out there, usually indistinguishable from each other. Toyota of Santa Barbara is definitely a cut above. Dan was helpful through the buying process, getting us every savings he could; Juan was fast and clean on the paperwork and they responded to questions after the sale. Dan made the process go so smoothly, we bought used. He explained the car history without any salesman deception. Go to Dan, you'll be thankful.

This is one of the worst dealerships I have tried to do business with. They just purely weren't motivated to make a sale. I went to Toyota Oxnard instead and they were top notch salesmen who were ready to make a deal. Do yourself the favor and drive out of town to another Toyota if you can.

My husband and I had a great experience with JJ at the Goleta Toyota dealership. I had contacted quite a few other Toyota dealerships in the area looking for a certain car, and JJ was the one who actually engaged me and communicated about different options. He said he would take care of us, and he really came through. Although we ended up with a different model, he found a car that really met our needs at a reasonable price point within our budget. He was persistent with making the deal in a way that helped close the deal with everyone winning. Ultimately, I'd drive an hour again to get a vehicle with him and his team.

Never leave them your phone number and email. They will keep calling and sending messages. And when you ask them not to bother, they give your phone number to other colleagues and everything starts to repeat itself.

Good experience, they answered my questions at all times and are attentive to what we needed from our new unit. Our seller Romulo is always very attentive.

I was happy overrall with my experience/purchase. JJ and Tom were very nice. We had to wait a little longer than I would have liked to sign paperwork because they were so busy, but they offered to make that up to us in a few ways which was awesome. I LOVE my highlander.

Extremely overpriced! They charged me $220 just to tell me a mouse had chewed through my front right speed sensor. They said it would need to be replaced and that it would cost $700. I resoldered the wires back together myself and it fixed the problem. I recommend going to a private shop instead. Seems like this business is pretty bloated.

Five stars for salesperson JJ (John) who was responsive, professional, helpful, low key, and very easy to work with throughout the process. He made it a positive experience! Thanks, JJ!

Just bought a 2024 Toyota Tacoma at Toyota of Santa Barbara. John Sagun helped us out and made the process super simple, hassle free, reliable, and quick. Andres, the finance manager was helpful, transparent, and didn't try to trick us into buying things we did not need. I have bought a few new cars from different agencies and I'm coming back to this one if I need a new Toyota. Great experience. If you want transparency and honesty ask for John Sagun. Thanks again John from the Santos Family.

This dealership has an authentic quality about it--specifically, Isaias Rodriguez, Sales Associate, is unfeigned and very easy to be around. He made everything so comfortable for me. If you don't feel computer savvy, don't worry--their site is easy to navigate, and after clicking a few buttons to express my interest in a car, Isaias called me right away (and we talked, confirmed an appointment, etc). Super fun test drive. It happens that I had to return the following day to drive my car off the lot. Isaias actually met me at the train station and treated me to a very tasty coffee at a local spot in "old town" before we got down to the dealership. That's just one example of how supportive Isaias was throughout my buying process. I promise it feels gratifying to bang that gong!! I highly recommend T of SB, and have nothing but high praise for Mr. Rodriguez.

JJ was great! Answered all my questions and was very transparent. The manager and the finance manager were both very professional as well. The team went out of their way to get me what I needed as quickly and efficiently as possible. I will be going back from my next car. Thank you!
