In 2020 I bought a bakflip tonneau cover on Steve's recommendation. I could have purchased it on line but decided to buy local at Santa Barbara Auto Truck Accessories. I have been happy with the Bakflip MX4. I noticed the rubber between the first and second panel starting to crack. I showed it to Steve. He took pictures and dealt with Bakflip and got a replacement cover in just over a week. If I had to try to get a replacement myself I don't think it would have been easy or with the same results. I am glad now that I bought local and from Santa Barbara Auto Truck Accessories. Thank you Steve

I had basically destroyed the entire Leer rear window attachment of my Tacoma shell, including the springs and frame, and had to order the entire new unit. First, SB Auto Truck Accessories was one of only two companies that even carried it. Second, he was the only guy who called me back, and clearly knew what he was talking about. Third, he didn't try to oversell me; he thoroughly quizzed me to make sure I didn't need just the springs or window or other smaller part of the unit itself before deciding I did indeed the entire unit. Finally, once the unit arrived, I had the choice of letting him install it or installing it myself. I'm still totally strapped of cash due to Covid, so I decided I would give it a go. In retrospect, I would have probably just had him do it, because it was a nightmare, but I wasn't at all unprepared for that. Steve went outside the back side of his shop and did a full tutorial on how to do it. As I'm listening to all the details, I'm thinking, "How hard could this really be; it's just two pieces." I will say now that EVERY SINGLE MINUTE DETAIL that he mentioned became a factor while installing it. I actually couldn't picture each detail until I was in there doing it myself. It was a very specific order of things that, had I not followed, I would have ruined the unit. On top of all that, I called him back twice to ask for advice. The second time I was totally defeated and prepared to bring in for him to install. He basically coached me further, and turned down money, to help me finish the job. Neither call back was all that quick; he took a lot of time to follow up, for free, and it really clarified things. So, I highly recommend this shop. I also had a wonderful chat with Steve and Lynn after I bought the unit. The are wonderful people, and straight shooters as others mentioned. If you want to be bullsh*tted and pampered and get it wrong, go somewhere else. If you want to do it right, go to Santa Barbara Auto Truck Accessories.

I came in knowing the exact topper for my truck, with a competing quote down from Oxnard, and purchased from Steve for a slight up charge due to location. I was advised from a friend, with the same shell and Tacoma, to go to Oxnard instead, but after talking with Steve I was convinced it'd be alright. For starters, Steve placed some huge 3" flappy piece of door seal between the cab and the shell which vibrated like a bat out of hell at about 50mph, and I had to have him rip off. I thought after that it was all good, but I was wrong. If you never leave Santa Barbara, that may be the case. But nearly two years later, I now live in rainy Oregon, and my shell has been leaking like crazy. Currently waiting in the lobby of another store as they've removed the shell and are resealing it. They were quick to point out that basically everything was done wrong, poorly, or missing. Canopy was crooked (and had rubbed the paint down where it touch), wrong foam was used (not thick enough or wide enough), huge holes were missing right next to where he had attempted to seal. Maybe next time my intuition that a job like this should be done by a shop with a garage will guide me in the right way.

Steve was awesome! A straight shooter, tells you what to expect, not what you want to hear. Camper shell came on time, he installed it in a timely manner, didn't have the next install arriving until I had picked up my truck. I felt safe during these crazy times and I am very happy. Great prices and LOCAL!!!! Steve was so kind and I will definitely be referring anyone I know who needs accessories for their trucks!

Steve is awesome! So easy to talk to it felt like I have known him for years! He is a straight shooter and tells you the facts, not what you want to hear to try and earn your business. My camper shell came in exactly when he thought, was installed right away and in a timely manor. He did not have his next install arrive until after I picked up my truck. I came here for a quote. Although the owner was very nice a knowledgeable he couldn't Cobble together 5 minutes to pay attention to me and my $5,500 order. On the other hand the owner's wife is a nightmare. Making things and lying. I won't do business with Liars.

Steve is a total straight shooter who made very clear all my options with hard shells for my truck. While I chose not to get a shell without saving up for the perfect one, Steve's advice was very helpful, and clearly geared to customer satisfaction over $$. He also installed a bed rug for me that looks/feels great. Thanks Steve!
