The Goleta branch is a lifesaver it's always uncrowded the people are polite there's plenty of parking it's just a good place, Santa Barbara on Laguna Street that branch is a death trip, there is absolutely no parking, the Personnel are rude, you have to stand in long lines on how hot asphalt in the Sun there's no shade out there to protect you while you're waiting to invoice your materials warning Beware of the Santa Barbara Branch during the daytime weekday hours from 7:00 a.m. on through till about 2:00 p.m. that place is freaking dangerous

Over priced, only game in town. Once they & all other retailers raise the PRICE, they NEVER lower it.

Tony at Santa Barbara Hayward’s assisted me with the call out for my building project, he was very helpful and put me in line with Kevin at Goleta Hayward‘s Lumber. Kevin has been amazing very helpful in all levels. I’ve been to many lumberyards and never received the kindness that I have from Kevin. To the CEO give that man a raise. Thanks again and best wishes Nick

I wanted to give a local business a chance rather than going to Home Depot. I wanted to build a bookcase. The guy at Hayward told me this was the wrong place for that kind of lumber. They just have Douglas Fir. And not in sizes suitable for bookcases. He said I would have to look downtown for hardwood.Seems a bit odd for a place with "Lumber" in their name to only sell one kind of wood? And it turned out that Channel City Hardware a few blocks away in Goleta does indeed sell a variety of lumber suitable for bookcases.Maybe this place treats you OK if you are a major construction company. But they clearly are not interested in locals who are trying to do their own projects.
