“Classic collision is a high-end body shop that used to be family owned and run with many decades of A+ experience and customer service in our area. A short while ago, the family sold the business to private equity. Fortunately, they remain involved in the day to day.
As we have seen extensively in America, and originally in the UK, Private equity has bought out small businesses across many many industries. They implement strict cost cutting measures, raise prices, and work hard to create local monopolies to extract additional profit. Caliber collision is anothrt example of this happening in Santa Barbara.
We had a small driveway collision, that resulted in a $16,000 bill to State Farm. Clearly, they have been successful in raising prices and extracting maximum value.
While the efforts took 6 weeks to complete, a bit longer than they originally estimated, I'm happy to report that the work was done. Superbly! The vehicle looks brand new, which it is with only 4,000 miles.

“Randy is a super nice guy. Swapped my handle for a new one in 15 minutes. I was originally going to do it myself but he made it easy and it was affordable. As of this morning his phone was only working about 50% of the time. It says "This number has been disconnected" but if you keep trying it eventually pushes your call through.”
