Safety issues in getting into store via the front door. While products and services are good; there is a danger to customer safety. The front door entrance lacks handrails, and safety strip painting. A friend and many others, from what I have been told, have fallen resulting in wounds requiring emergency medical care. Pet Food Express is a big corporation and should work with the city on sidewalk and entrance safety. Could they be violating ADA requirements/recommendations?

I bring my doggie Bella here for her baths once a month. The bath area is always pretty clean and the service is great - everyone who works here is SO KIND and helpful. Highly recommend and they always give her treats on her way out after her bath.

Such a lovely little neighborhood pet store, and the staff are so kind and helpful! Was completely out of my depth when some items got shifted around, and the employees were all super helpful getting me where I needed to go. Can’t recommend them enough—just a surprisingly robust selection for such a small footprint, and I can almost always find what I’m looking for.♥️

The self-wash stations, the selection of treats and food, the small doggie grass area out front -- I love it all! Probably the only thing I do not love is the parking situation, but I can get passed that because the spot has everything you need to spoil your pup. Staff have been helpful, and I literally find everything I need at this store and more.

The Oakland location on Piedmont set a really high bar in terms of service but this place is consistently underwhelming. I've been coming here for a couple years now and the staff in general just doesn't have the same enthusiasm or warmth that the Oakland location has. It feels more like they're just going through the motions. My 2 stars are for their lackluster service and not the cleanliness, baths or products they carry. No big issue with any of those things.

We just washed our dog here at Pet Food Express today and it is great! Our dog is older (17yo) and he looked comfortable for his whole wash/dry session. The bottoms of the raised tubs are non-slip, the water temperature and blow-dry temperature are both nice - not too warm or cold. What normally can take us up to 2 hours to accomplish at home took 50 minutes at this dog wash. We recommend!

Pet Food Express offers high-quality pet food and other pet products. Super friendly staff. I went in to buy some cat food and litter, and a couple days later I noticed an item on the receipt that I didn't purchase. I went back to ask about a refund which they gave to me without question, and it was a super smooth process. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because of generally high prices, which is justifiable for the quality of food they offer.

We take our dogs here all the time to groom them ourselves. The facility is super clean and it has all the grooming amenities you would need. Also, the staff is incredibly friendly and it's super affordable.

This place is great! They carried my dog's special food and had loads of others awesome inventory! I am beyond happy to find this place! I also brought my dog to the self wash and will keep coming back here. Customer service was great too.

This place is perfect for pet self wash. I took my dog today for the first time. It costs $18 for 25 min use. They have about 4-5 stations. Lots of room and have everything you need such as towels and the machine already has different type of shampoo options to use. This was so convenient and great. Staff was also really friendly. Parking is on the street but plenty available.
