Very pleased with my color and cut. Melina was fast and efficient but took the time to blow dry my hair in a way I'll never be able to replicate Her salon is in a Glendale building which houses a collective of cosmetologists, and though it's a busy part of Glendale, the location's convenient. I chose Melina's salon for its Groupon price, and found it an excellent value. I plan to be a repeat client.

I had an appointment and this lady was a No Show. I originally left a voice msg to cancel my appointment, and she called me to reschedule and it was for today. However, no one was there, lights off, doors locked l. I text her and she tells me I did not confirm my appointment. Well how convenient of her to just say that and not show up. Very unprofessional! She didn't bother asking me if I wanted to reschedule, or apologize for wasting my time. MAKE SURE TO HAVE HER TEXT YOU FOR PROOF IF YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT!!!

I have been a client of Melina's for 5 years, now. I am grateful to have such a quality professional handle my precious long locks! I do keratin treatments a few times a year and she trims my hair as needed. The treatment itself takes place in her private salon and takes about 2.5 hours. I follow her after-treatment instructions to a and it lasts about 3-4 months. Without this, my hair is a knotty frizzy mess! I love that I can still wear my hair curly. But the benefit is how smooth my hair is and dries in a fraction of the time. If you want a pro who is very organized with her text appointment scheduling and who doesn't overbook clients, Melina is a great choice!

** Update / look at the pics ** I walked in apologizing for being late 15 mins NOT 35 & asked how she was doing, that's one. Two, who said anything about a discount? Again, as stated in my previous review... Melina is a huge liar. NOT a professional. Real professionals offer hair check-ups to see the results & don't get mad about it. If "threatening" sounds like someone defending themselves after being disrespected then kicked out then okay! Never asked Melina for a "discount" let alone for "25 mins" lol. Here's proof of our txts & phone call - how long we spoke for. We spoke once to schedule my appointment. Harassment is chasing ppl outside & shoving your phone in their face so stay in your lane girl. No one stayed in your suite & you don't own the building. Freedom of speech is not a crime however stalking someone is. My hair was already soft to begin with. I would've went to the other hair stylists who know how to do a flawless keratin treatment to get the results you "guaranteed" Please read this if you're considering going to her. The reviewers stating that her keratin treatments are sloppy & that most of her good reviews are fake are telling you the truth. My experience with Melina was HORRIFIC. First time I went to her she was normal cuz she was getting paid. Her keratin treatment didn't work like it was supposed to. My hair is exactly the same as before. She definitely rushed but even then I kindly txted her about it & she told me to come back. I went back with my mom (a hair professional) to show Melina & explain but she was being very aggressive from the start. She kept trying to cut us off as we're talking & only stated that she can do it again for full price. Not a big deal it's just hair treatment right? The big deal was her poor attitude. Keep in mind I did NOT ONCE ask her for a refund or to do it again without charging me. After I told her to stop with the attitude, she told us to leave... Okay! After leaving her suite, she followed us all the way outside the building so she can start recording us as we were already on our way out. She was trying to get a reaction out of us to have an excuse for not doing her job properly. Where there's no money involved, there's no nice Melina involved. In all these years, I've never seen a 'professional' act that way. She claims to have "explained the different types of keratin" to me. She didn't explain anything to me. I asked her so many questions before to make sure I get the results I want. She's nothing but a disrespectful liar who tries to pin something on you if you're not satisfied with her work

I don't like to write a bad review because Melina is very sweet and kind. However, her work is not so great unfortunately, because I wanted to continue going to her since I live in Pasadena and she is close to home with reasonable prices for keratin. She basically rushes through the process and doesn't do it the way it's intended. She thinks that people won't know. instead of blow drying your hair like it's supposed to be done, she just straightens the hair while wet with the keratin on it. I have had it done many times and they always blow dry. When I brought it to her attention while she was doing it, she said no, that's how it's done. I'm not a fool. Sure enough after washing it a few days later like she tells you to do, my hair was just like before. I don't recommend going to her, she cuts corners and that's why it's cheap. She also doesn't offer to say hey come back if you're not happy like every stylist that I have had has done.

I just moved down from Sacramento and had to find a new hair colorist. As someone with emotional scars from a bad experience with a previous colorist, I was a little worried about going to someone new... but she killed it! She colored my hair perfectly. I'll definitely be going back. Thanks Melina!

Melina is sweet and she works fast. During the first week and/or before I washed it, I loved my hair. After almost two weeks, my hair already started feeling rough and straw-like. I been using sulfate free shampoo, but I don't know, the magic disappeared already. So I'm quite sad with the overall weeks later results. Like, so sad. Sorry.

Found this business trough Groupon. I needed a dye and cut BADLY. Melina's salon is located in Phenix Salon Suites. There are about 150 salons located in this building which provide a mixture of hair and other services like makeup application or skin care. Melina's suite is just right for two people to be in. There's a chair in the room in case someone comes with you, but I definitely wouldn't bring anyone else because the suite is that small, but very cutely decorated. Melina started on my hair right away. She got my hair dyed and cut and styled within 90 minutes so that I didn't have to pay for parking. She's a good listener and she provided suggestions on my hair which I appreciated. I wasn't that crazy though about how she washed my hair. I've had better scalp massages. Parking is nearby, just a short walk away located in a structure. Would I come back or recommend this place? Most definitely.

Melina is so sweet AND punctual AND really good at what she does. I had two keratin treatments with her and they changed the quality of my damaged hair. My hair is smooth and healthy now!

Melina was polite, professional and patient! My hair looks AMAZING after her Keratin Blowout. I found a really good deal on LivingSocial and there were no hidden costs. She did not try to up-sell a bunch of expensive products or add-ons. I was in and out in exactly one hour. 100% fantastic!!! I will be back.Thank you Melina!
