A little over 2-years ago, the nursing home I was in made arrangements for a motorized medical bed to be sent to the care home I was transferring to. The company they used was Intracommunity Home Care, Inc.
The wrong size bed was sent, so they had to replace it, and the replacement they sent was broken. I was told parts would only be a few days, but it was weeks, and when the parts came in, they were the wrong parts.
I had many interactions with the company over the multiple weeks it took to get my bed working, and they were rude and unapologetic. They tried to blame me for the broken bed, and everything else that went wrong.
I wrote a review at Google.com, Better Business Bureau, and Yelp.com, and the owner of the company called me and said if I did not take the reviews down, she would send someone to take the bed from me, knowing I am disabled and bed bound. She said I had 24 hours to provide confirmation all reviews were taken down.
Current date, I needed a new mattress for my bed. I liked the mattress I had, and I bought it from Intracommunity Home Care, Inc., so I thought I would call and ask for a replacement.
First person I spoke to said “sure, I can do that, I can have the new mattress delivered in 2 days”. Then, ½ an hour later I received a call saying she was mistaken, they cannot get the mattress and unsure of when they can.
Two weeks later I called again and spoke to a different person. This person told me again, no problem, let me get some prices for you and I will call you back. Call back I was told prices are higher then originally thought, but will check again to be sure. Next call back I was told they cannot get a mattress for me. They have no vendors that carry the mattress I need.
Keep in mind, this is a medical supply company, and I am asking for a mattress for a motorized medical bed. I found the mattress at Amazon.com, and a medical supply company said they have no vendors that can provide a replacement mattress?
Next, I need to replace the right rail on my bed. I bought the bed from Intracommunity Home Care, Inc., so that is who I called, and again I was told they cannot help me, the best they can do is give me the phone number of the manufacturer. I asked them to send me the date purchased, make and model of bed. When I looked for a replacement rail for the make and model they gave me, nothing matched. I had someone take photos of all the stickers on my bed and turns out the make and model they sent to me was incorrect.
If you need medical supplies, stay far away from this company.

After our experience with Intracommunity Home Care Inc. we decided to post this detailed and honest review in hopes to help other innocent elderly or critically ill patients to make a better decision. This business took advantage of my elderly parents, lied to me during multiple attempts to seek repayment for them and to add to the mistreatmemt the business manager "Geraldine" most recently hung up the phone during a critical call where she just got fed up with me trying to help my oxygen dependent elderly father. For the 1st time in my life i resorted to filing a complaint through BBB where they responded back to my BBB complaint with blatant lies. This business should not be trusted, should not be part of our community, and i urge any caretakers for the critically ill to avoid this place. Shame.
Also... Reading through the many other 1 star reviews of this place... It saddens me to see that it is common practice for Geraldine to hang up on paying customers and not work with them on coming up with a solution. She may need to be retrained and taught to treat customers with respect. I hope when it comes to you or you family health care needs... You have a more positive experience than you provided me and others listed here.
Don't embarrass yourself and respond to this post months later. You know we provided Crystal with a prescription clearly stating that we needed 6L of oxygen. Really? You should be ashamed to be in business.

This company has been extremely friendly & easy to work with. I recently got a urinal for my dad who struggles with getting out of bed to use the bathroom due to neuropathy. I reached out to Geraldine who was very helpful & explained to her what I needed. She quickly ordered the urinal for me and within a couple of days it had arrived. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for anything they may need in order to help care for their loved one.

I must say Intracommunity was extremely helpful when assisting my mom with her order. I was pleased with how fast they got the order out. Our home health sent the order yesterday and Intracommunity came out today. I will definitely continue using their service.

This has got to be the most unprofessional place. The way the employees speak to its Customers is unacceptable . They speak to them with such authority or they are like the repo man. I feel horrible for the elderly people who they speak to in such manner if they speak to somebody that is not elderly with such disrespect I don’t even want to imagine how they speak to them. Specially, now in times that people are struggling with money. Don’t use this company for your equipment needs. I would rate this a ZERO but unfortunately there is no portion for that .

When I contacted the company for a wheelchair and hospital bed for my mother the person on the other end was very professional and helpful. They proceeded the order quickly so when my mother got discharged from the hospital she had everything she needed. The tech that came over was very helpful and explained everything to us

Intracommunity Home Care Inc is a wonderful establishment. The owner Geraldine is truly so nice and so caring and was very communicative. When my grandma needed a hospital bed they were so swift with their response and that made my grandmas care that much better. They made sure to deliver the bed in a timely manner and were kind enough to help explain how the controls worked. All in all truly a great service wish I could give more stars.

Intracommunity has helped me throughout an extremely difficult time. Their equipment is high quality unlike many other DMEs. I spoke with Geraldine personally as there were some issues with my insurance. She helped me resolve all issues I had and had the equipment delivered the very next day. I must say this has been the easiest and most helpful DME company I have ever used. Thank you Geraldine.

The team at Intracommunity is outstanding. My mom's home health requested a hospital bed and a lift from Intracommunity and I must say I was shocked to see how fast and easy the process was. Crystal helped me with my order and called everyday giving me updates. Jose helped set all the equipment and did an amazing job explaining how to operate each equipment. I have dealt with many DME providers as a caregiver and as a patient. These companies are usually compassionate and kind because they are working with vulnerable people. Our home health agency works with Intracommunity who filed forms with the wrong information for our physician to sign, referring to my husband as SHE on the forms. They were forced to correct the forms more than once before our doctor could sign. Our doctors do not have time to deal with incompetence
nor should they have to. Donovan tried to sell me on a hospital bed 《UPGRADE》 for an extra $1k beyond the Medicare reimbursement, that was the same bed as the one that we presently own, but with longer bedrails. We were given a prescription for specific features on the new hospital bed conforming to my husband's condition and diagnosis.
They were indifferent to my patient's needs and very interested in receiving the 《ONE TIME ADDITIONAL FEE》. I actually paid cash for my husband's bed without going through Medicare and only paid between $600-$700 in 2021. Something doesn't make sense. Intracommunity demands the 《ONE TIME ADDITIONAL FEE》that is practically the price of the bed upfront AND ALSO BILLS MEDICARE. I suggest to the other caregivers whose vulnerable patient were abused file a complaint with Medicare. Find out if any of the employee's actions could be considered elder abuse and or elder financial fraud.
