This review is not about Freeway Toyota of Gilroy as a whole. This is for advisor Jesse Cabrera. I come to this Toyota because it's not so packed or too busy. I usually come in by myself (I am a young adult woman, early 20's). Today I came in for an oil change (my car has 64,000) miles, when advisor Jesse called me in I IMMEDIATELY felt this negative energy. He asked me what services I wanted to get done to which I reply "I would like to just get an oil change for today.", he rolled his eyes at me and raised his eyebrows in disappointment! He mentioned that I need to do a full 60k mile service which would be about or over $1000. I very nicely decline and again mentioned that I was just here for an oil change. He then raises his eyebrows again and said "it's going to have to get done eventually.", which I KNOW! But for the third time I am just here for an oil change today. He then said this "you should start saving money to afford the service!" EXCUSE ME??? How rude and unprofessional! Never did I mention that I could not afford the service, never did I mention that money was the reason I was refused the service that was being pushed on me. Do not assume that the reason people don't want to get the service you recommend is always about money! Disgusting. I was baffled! I don't want to put words in anyone's mouths nor do I was to assume what was meant by that. HOWEVER, it made me feel like because I'm young and because I am a woman and because I waited a long time for this oil change I somehow cannot afford a service? THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SAID. POINT. BLANK. PERIOD!I am very unhappy. Please be wary of Jesse Cabrera, he is rude and beyond unprofessional. On the other hand, the employee that checked in my car, amazing! Welcoming with a smile and very polite. I wish I got his name! I am sorry Freeway Toyota Gilroy, you have been great to me but I will not be returning.

I took my car in for a issue with the ABS lights and the service technician diagnosed it as a fault sensor issue. I had to replaced it for a whooping ~ $950 but the issue started happening again the same day I drove the car out. They were supposed to have tested and verified it! Anyway, I called back my service advisor and took the vehicle back in. The technician looked at it again and said it was now an issue with the bearings that were installed by another dealership. Now, they were not willing to fix it and asked me to take it to the other dealer. I was at the cusp of warranty for the previous repair and Toyota dealers can surely replace parts at no cost if within the warranty period. However, the service advisor or the manager wasnt even willing to take it back in and fix the problem. I had now paid the money for a part i didnt need replacement and had to additionally pay another dealer to diagnose the real issue which ended up being something totally different that what this dealer said. This dealership is out to get your money and doesn't care about customers! Beware of repairs they claim you need!

Overall experience of Gilroy was awful and deceitful. We are from SF area. We called in to make sure that the exact car was in before making the trip down. Daniesha called us in the first time and when we got there, she had to get the manager out to tell us the car was not there.Despite that, we decided to go forward with a purchase of the next car. The paperwork that we were given was incorrect. We scratched it out, per their guidance, and completed it anyways. After we picked up the car the second time and went back, we found out the perma plate film that we paid for was not applied. After 2 weeks of back and forth, in which Daniesha did not admit fault, wanted us to come back to get it "reapplied" and it would "only take 30 mins" and showed us false paperwork. We were able to get the GM, to help coordinate taking the car to the San Bruno branch. The SB service manager confirmed the perma plate was not installed and that the work would take a full day. The San Bruno branch so far has been great and had a rental car prepared for us when we dropped off the car as they knew it would take a full day (and potentially more due to weather).

We spoke to Denisha from Toyota Gilroy and she said we would have to make a reservation for a test drive, which we asked her to help out with and drove about 45min in traffic with two kids, only to come to a showroom, with no car for test drive! If you don't have a car, say upfront! This is terrible customer service, wish I could give you guys 0star.

Went to hyundai next door, we had bought 2 cars there (in the family) in the last couple years. Went there and let's day I ended up here at Toyota. The lady who helped us was very nice, the finance guy was amazing (older Asian gent I loved him so much super nice guy). Did not screw us on the markup and everything was as you would hope it would be.

Had a great experience at freeway toyota. i was there for my current car service when i requested a quote for my car as i was interested in new grand highlander. Jenne called me and gave me great quote for my car and also have whole process very easy to get new car too. we were able to take care of all the things on text only. i had to spend very less time at dealership as Jenne took care of everything and i had to do just signature and everything was good to go. Plus Jenne also made sure i get the all the specific matched for the car which i was looking.i would highly recommended Freeway Toyota and Jenne if you looking for buy new car or trade in old one

This place is TERRIBLE.I thought I left a review.. guess not. I used to take my car there for servicing and that department is shady as hell. So I had extensive servicing done a week prior and when I came for an oil change they said I needed all this servicing and a new serpentine belt because it was supposedly cracked. So I played along and said, "Oh really? Show me what you're talking about and whats cracked?" We popped the hood and he pointed to the belt which was BRAND new. I said, oh wait a minute. I went into my trunk and grabbed the old belt and said "ohhhh, you mean THIS belt? You guys are shady as F, thats a brand new belt." The guy was stuttering shocked I knew what I was talking about. I have never brought my vehicle there for servicing again. In February I came to look at a forerunner and a Tacoma for purchase. They didn't have either. The lot was very very empty they didn't have pretty much anything other than a tundra to test drive. They were extremely pushy trying to get me to buy a Tacoma and I said I would never purchase a vehicle unless I test drove it. They did have a Tacoma for the rental side but they would not allow me to test drive it. Said if you guys want to make a sale then why can't I test drive a rental when it's just going around the block. So I went to test drive a Tacoma at Carmax and a forerunner at enterprise. I bought my forerunner through Enterprise. We were looking to buy a Rav4 trading 2 vehicles in. I was texting one salesman, if I mention names my review will be removed which is stupid. Anyways so we set up that we would come testdrive the Rav4. I gave him all the info on my dads truck... valued $40k. I asked him at least times for the value they would offer us.... nothing. When we showed up at the dealership for a test drive we dealt with someone else who was lagging majorly but gave us the value of my moms car they would offer. I emailed him 2 times asking value they would give us for my dads truck. This was 2 days ago. Never got any response so I called the dealership again asking what they would offer us, about military rebate and if they would pay my mom the remaining balance by check or cash if we traded both of our vehicles. They originally told me they would beat what DGDG and Enterprise quoted us. The A-hole I spoke with with name starting with a M said we would need to bring truck down to get a value. I said my mom was interested in the Blue Rav4 and we needed to know what they would offer for the truck. When we got there right away the guy was defensive when my mom said ahead of time wasn't buying today, we need to find out what they would offer and that she is going on vacation so she would purchase when she gets back. This guy was sooo rude saying that if we aren't going to buy today than he will not give us a value. I said that if we are going to buy from Gilroy we need to know if you guys are going to pay my mom the difference, that she wants the Rav4 they said was in San Diego. He yelled at my mom and we said ok then we will leave. I told him thats fine, we will buy from DGDG. He then texted me, harassing me and I told him we were planning on buying from them but Dgdg and enterprise both gave us values without seeing the car, but the ad I placed on Autotrader with about 40 photos and all info. He continued to text me in a rude way. So I blocked him. Toyota seriously needs to rethink some of their employees and if they contact me I will share the text feed with them. This guy should NOT be a salesman. He is rude, crude and overly pushy.

I just want to tell everyone, especially if your thinking about purchasing a new vehicle... DO NOT DO IT AT FREEWAY TOYOTA OF GILROY! Especially don't fall for some ad on Facebook. Not only is it a scam , but they are a bunch of con- artists. I guess all car sales men are, but these people take the cake! For starters just know like everything else manufactured in the past few years , your gonna pay a lot more for a lot less. And when your talking about a $40,000 vehicle, it's a big deal. Also, The fact that they told me they were giving me $7000 for my trade in (2017 Nissan pathfinder 4x4) and only gave me $4000 is probably pretty typical, but kbb has it at $9,000, and they claimed they weren't gonna make a penny off it, I guarantee they sold that car for far more then $4000 dollars! My point, WATCH OUT FOR THE GUY IN FINANCE WHO DOES NOT SHUT UP THE WHOLE TIME YOUR SIGNING YOUR CONTRACT, Do not allow yourself to be sidetracked, and read through everything , the finance guy rambles on about how expensive taxes are, and how one of the employees actually got hit totaling their brand new Toyota, but gap insurance covered everything , he does not let you talk, does not listen to you, and only briefly tells you what you are signing, while pointing where to sign. (Like ok ...sign, here, here, and here , this is just stating that you agree to the trade in for the amount previously discussed...) they got this fancy set up where you just have to touch the pen to the pad and your signature magically appears, then it's on to the next page, you don't see an actual paper copy till it's all said and done. They kinda rush you right through. They told me they were gonna stay as close to my current payment amount as possible , I was paying $396, now I'm paying $790. The most deceptive move was the in house loan for the down payment. I was never told it was a separate loan and an additional $200 payment per month. I would have never have agreed that... Now about the 2023 RAV4 junk car I'm stuck with, pure garbage! I know a lot of people will probably disagree, cause Toyota has manufactured some pretty solid vehicles in the past, but this is not one of them , guaranteed. I'm willing to bet , that just about everything on these cars, and most newer cars from the quality of the paint, glass, plastics , pleather seats and carpet are all made of much cheaper materials, and it's all from Japan, they think we're all stupid Americans who will buy anything, and we do! So to sum it up..., don't buy from Freeway Toyota, and don't purchase a car manufactured from 2020 and up.

Today April 29th, 2023. I took my brand new 2022 Toyota RV4 Hybrid to FreewayToyota of Gilroy for maintenance and was blown away by the exceptional customer service I received. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of excellent.Booking an appointment was a breeze and upon arrival, I was greeted by Carlos, who provided the warmest welcome and was incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. He worked tirelessly to address the scratches on the paint and went above and beyond to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the work done.Fedel, also deserves a special mention for his outstanding work in fixing the scratches on my car - it looked amazing once he finished.Overall, I highly recommend Freeway Toyota of Gilroy to anyone looking for a dealership that truly cares about its customers. The level of customer service and attention to detail provided by Carlos and Fedel was truly outstanding and exceeded my expectations. Thank you, Freeway Toyota of Gilroy, for a fantastic experience.Vera & SamService: Car waxing

THEY LIE ON THE WEBSITE. THEY LIE ON THE PHONE. THEY LIE ON TEXT MESSAGES. THEY LIE WHEN YOU ARRIVE. They lied on the phone to get me there. The car was not even at the lot. Then they increased the price by thousands of $.Then they refused to work with me. I had to pay 2 Uber rides for $200 from San Ramon to Gilroy. I wasted 4 hours because of their awful dishonest business practices. After the my realized the truck was not there, they offered to give me a loaner car to return tomorrow. They tricked me into another hour of back and forth over the sale price. At the last second, at 8:15 pm when they closed, they told me I would not get a loaner car and I had to find my own way home. I got there at 630. After car shopping for a month now and visiting several dealerships, I understand it's a business, but some of them are very very awful. This dealership, Freeway Toyota of Gilroy was exceptionally horrible. I called them before a two hours drive to get there. The agent assured me that the price on the website was the price that I would pay plus taxes and registration and dock fees. When I got there, they didn't even have the truck there. Apparently a technician had taken the truck home. so my $100 Uber ride was for nothing. Then on top of that when we started negotiating about the truck they try to jack up the price from 33,000 to 39,000. They came down to 36,000.But this is a big lie compared to what the agent told me on the phone. Now I had to take another Uber home for another hundred dollars. So this cost me four hours plus $200. I'll because they cannot be honest.

I am so thankful for Johnny and all his help and patience when I purchased my vehicle. He was very attentive and helpful in answering all my questions and explained everything in detail. I was so nervous and had major anxiety purchasing my first brand new car when I had always been used to purchasing older, used cars in private party sales. He was so understanding and patient with me and I will forever be a loyal customer to him. It means more to me than I could ever express in words. Thank you Johnny!!
