The only good thing about the store is that it is clean but terrible customer service. At the time of paying, Fatima, one of the cashiers, when scanning my food, threw things and I asked her if she was bad in English and she answered that she didn't speak English and I asked her in Spanish "are you bad, why are you throwing things away?" all?" and he answered "oh no, I just put it there" I grabbed my things, paid and left. I called the store to speak with the manager, they told me that Javier is the manager but he was in a meeting to call back. It's food, why grab it in the wrong way???

Great place but seems to always be out of something in their meat and cheese department. Can be frustrating if you’re wanting a specific cut of meat or fresh cheese.

This comment is not about the store but from someone who works there and all I can say is if you are planning to work here you have to speak pure Spanish or you will be treated differently with belittling and racful hatred from you peers

Honestly they need to stop hiring these dumb little kids . There's a short mexican girl , only spoke spanish while we spoke english, with orange faded hair working in the self checkout Monday November 6th at 8pm with a stank attitude. I simply asked her to call her manager since she was being dumb about the false advertising of the prices they have. She also had the audacity to roll her eyes like if i'm asking her to run a marathon. The managers need to check their associates because this chick thought she was all that. If she didn't want to work she should've simply just stayed home and not being her stupid self to work.

Cardenas use to be ok to get meat and other items. It's seems that lately every time I ate something from here I got sick. The service is never good here. There used to be a bell you ring when you needed service when no one was around in the hot food side but it's seemed to upset the workers when it was rang. Now I only go to get pan dulce and that is even a disappointment now. The bread is always old and hard and never fresh. I go early to see if maybe I can get fresh bread but it looks like they leave the bread out over night is the display cases. Not going back anymore.

Avoid this store at all costs! ¡No visite esta tienda!They have AWFUL customer service. If you are able to go in without having to interact with the employees, you should be okay. Especially now that they have self-checkout. Before those, you would have to wait in line FOREVER!Also, good luck getting food. The food court area is AWFUL! They have a rude employee during peak hours. I waited in line for 20 minutes, and when it was my turn, the lady helping walked away and went to help someone who was standing in a random place. She then said that where I was standing wasn't the line. I was in line in front of the register where I stood behind the previous two people she helped.The lady was grumpy, but I don't hold that against her. She was alone, and you don't necessarily need to love your job, but her denying to serve me to go assist someone else was simply rude. She could have at least said, "Let me go help that customer over there. He's in the wrong spot, but he has been waiting for a while." I would have been okay with that. Instead, she just walked away after ringing up the customer before me. She didn't even acknowledge me. Not until I asked her what happened to waiting in line?I asked the manager how come there wasn't an "official" line, and there's only one employee in that area when there were so many of us waiting. It took her like 20 minutes to make two burritos.The young manager simply said, "Yeah, she's the only one" after I asked how come she had no help. I didn't even tell him that she ignored me when it was my turn after she had helped two people before me as I stood behind them IN LINE. He was dismissive and unbothered. He didn't even pretend to care!Want to know what the young manager was doing? He was bagging groceries next to (literally next to) a female cashier. By the way, there were no long lines or anything. He wasn't vital in that space and moment. He was mostly mingling.Why couldn't he go help in the food court area? An employee who was close by overheard the conversation and offered to help. She made the suggestion, NOT him.Why wasn't she asked to assist before when so many of us were waiting? It's not only about the volume of people but also the length of wait time.I ended up leaving. They obviously don't care about their customers AT ALL. I can always go buy food somewhere else. I wish I had known that my time was being wasted...If someone from this supermarket ever reads this, please indicate where the line gets formed in the food court area, have a number/ticket system, any way of making sure the employee doesn't get to arbitrarily serve who she wishes. Apparently forming a line in front of the register wasn't the way to go. Yet again, she did help the two men before me, so I'm not sure.Please better train your employees. Tell the managers to pretend to care, to at least say "sorry about the inconvenience" or something! Being a manager is not just closing the store. Also, don't bother to reply to my review with the generic response you have left others. Unless you actually implement changes, don't bother.Most importantly, it breaks my heart that as a Latin business, they have such poor customer service. Just because you serve mostly Latin@s, it doesn't mean that we are less worthy of good or at least decent customer service.This is the very first negative review I have written in my life, but I had to do it. Mostly out of frustration as they clearly don't care.If you live in Gilroy, go to Arteaga's instead. They are a superior supermarket. I wished I lived closer to Arteaga's. Instead, I live 3 minutes away from Cardenas, but this is the last time I put up with them. I have experienced terrible customer service from them over and over again. This is the last time.

Great tacos and tamales,they are a very reasonable price and their tamales are amazing,Tacos $1.99 and tamales are $2.50.

The service is horrible the checker ring up my merchandise and gave me a bag so I can bag it myself that was on 8-16-23. She did not care about the customer at all and then continue talking to somebody else so I told her the service was horrible, she didn’t care
