Had the sad duty to drop off our Bulldog Olaf yesterday for cremation - couldn't have had better - and most considerate - assistance from all. Have used the Veterinary hospital before numerous years ago and could say the same for all those times also - respectful, considerate, friendly, PROFESSIONAL would be words that I use when talking about all of those times....Bob

Horrible service, unfriendly and unhelpful front desk staff. Beware - they only want to charge you as much as possible every single time - regardless of how many times you've been seen. It's ALL about you being a walking wallet, not about your animal.

My vet for the last 23 years, never any negative issues with the care given to any of my pets. Employees come and go, some great ones are gone, some not so great ones stick around. Many negativity seems to originate from Covid-19, what about Covid is not an inconvenience? So blaming a business for trying to keep the staff healthy pretty much makes you a f'n moron. I also like waiting in the parking lot, keeps my dog calm and I don't have to hear the office commotion. I have also spent time inside the office as a customer, my observation is that some of the other customers are very unruly, downright mean, and very demanding. They need to go elsewhere (if they can get an appointment), spend way more money, and see how far their crap attitude gets them. As a comparison, this is a country doctor doing the community a great service, not the Mayo Clinic.

First I want to say the good: Dr Irene is great, super sweet and she understands people don't have tons of money to spend on their pets so she try's hard to make things affordable. That's why we have gone to her for the last 8 years. Now heres the bad: her new staff not only is rude but completely disorganize. with this new COVID set up they have you wait in your car which would be fine but the last time I went they forgot about us for an hour and when I called they were very apologetic and dr Irene even waved the exam fee. Sweet right well, today I took my two new pups to have their first shots and I called and got left on hold had to call back. They came and got my paperwork and said they'd be out in a few to get the puppies. Well 45 goes by and no one comes. Then another car pulls up and within 5 min they come out and get the dog. They forgot us again!! I decided to leave and guess what they haven't even called me. so I guess because of her staff I'm going to find a new vet. Sorry Dr Irene, get some people who know how to organize your day better.

I have a good and trustworthy account manager that allows me to withdraw my profits anytime I want and I can monitor everything going on in my account when she is busy trading with her expert team and I don't have issues with pending withdrawals. I must admit that she's a very honest woman. I have no way of thanking her than letting people know about her services and recommend her for everyone to trade on her platform. She's 100% accurate and up-to-date. Kindly contact Mrs. Shania Barnes:

Super unprofessional, don't rely on them to give you correct dates because they don't know how to communicate. Had a surgery that I was told was 'crucial' for my dogs ACL- scheduled over a month with multiple times of contact in between and the same day I got a confirmation call (3 days before surgery) I got a call saying it was canceled and it turns out the surgeon won't be in office. Receptionist was rude and all she could say was "don't know what to tell you" The practice

Black Oak Animal Hospital is relatively inexpensive. I think they care about the animals and are trying to provide a reasonable place for treating our pets. That is great, but they operate their business like it is the 1950's. Black Oak has zero digital or technology based operational tools or administrative skills. Black Oak cannot even e-mail a receipt and they force you to use paper receipts for reclaiming funds from pet insurers. Most pet insurers demand that everything be submitted digitally...and they abuse customers who are trying to recoup their funds using paper receipts. Black Oak doesn't care. Black Oak's business model is so ancient, they can't provide Flea and Tick Medication on site, but they claim to..."not have the ability" to communicate with online pet-medicine suppliers for simple prescriptions like Flea & Tick Medication. A simple e-mail or fax...something that has been going on in most businesses since the 1980's seems to be beyond their ability. I don't know if the hospital stays in the 1950's so as to manipulate or hide revenues by keeping everything on paper, or if they think that having a computer program that allows for faxing and e-mailing is going to bust their profit bubble, but their lack of modern ability is embarrassing and ineffective. Additionally, the technicians lie to you about the health of your pet. We asked the tech about the Doctor's opinion on the dental health of one of our two dogs. The Tech went inside to "ask" the doctor about the issue and came back out claiming that..."the Doctor said to have the teeth looked at in about 6 months" as she went on to explain what the dental treatment and it's costs would be if they determined she needed treatment. Huh? That's what we asked about...the need for treatment? I was confused...until the tech spoke about the dental treatment and referred to the wrong dog. In other words, if she did go in and talk to the Vet, they either talked about the wrong dog...or she came out spewing lies about what she had done, who the patient was or what the vet claimed. Price is terribly important when caring for your pet, but so is trust. Black Oak feels that the people who come to them are so poor that they can deny them effective service, stay in the 1950's and limit their customer's ability to fill the prescriptions that they write. Get a computer, spend some money on a decent Vet-Management Program, teach your techs not to lie...and figure out that really difficult task of e-mailing. It will improve your operations.

When the Cool Animal Hospital closed I started going to Black Oak Animal Hospital, they are wonderful caring people & have treated my dogs & cats well. The charges are fair & reasonable especially compared to most Auburn clinics. I now know when I go there, even with an appointment, it will be quite a long wait. The staff seem to be overwhelmed with the volume of customers, especially since Cool closed & with the pandemic. I called today, one of my dogs has a broken toe, X-rays & a soft splint, the gal after putting me on hold, told me she was to busy to answer my questions, saying she would call me back, it has been 2.5hrs, still waiting. Have to go to PO for my mail & the store, it's Friday & I will probably miss the call if anyone calls back. Not happy

Most of these people are delusional with these ratings. Dr Irene is getting old and trying to retire, her new staff especially one is clearly taking advantage of that. She or IT.. is rude and judgemental about your animal that you bring in. She is such a loud mouth and clearly miserable with her life. She looks like a cave woman Hill Billy nobody!!!

I've never been disappointed with how my animals or I have been taken care of here. I've been through a lot with pets as most people have and they are knowledgeable, understanding, and compassionate all around. One of the most important and loved businesses for me on the divide.

If you want to be greeted by a rude volunteer who is a self-proclaimed expert on all things, especially dog training, Black Oak Animal Hospital is the place to be. In addition to having to listen to unwanted and unsolicited advice from someone with no medical background and no knowledge of us, we arrived to find that the vet we had set up the appointment with several weeks back wasn't available. In addition, when I called today to cancel our spay appointment, I had another unpleasant phone experience with this volunteer. This time she decided to launch into a diatribe about her own training expertise, with some negative comments thrown my way about our trainer's background as well as our own level of concern about our dog. Seriously? Although a few of the vets have a good reputation, it is people like this volunteer who set the stage for the customer experience. I hope the business takes notice.
